Thanks Mike for such a beautiful and enjoyable gift. I have only caught 15 fish greater than the magic 10 lb mark. 14 of those, at Jurassic Lake in Patagonia - so ... really only a single fish (a brown) at 12 lbs in NZ (near to the Lewis Pass). Your work really inspires me to do better. Backpack out this summer methinks .... best wishes and thank you again. PS: I would love to spend a few days in your company, if you are accepting new/more clients. I have never used the services of a guide ... but you make the idea seem more palatable. Cheers.
Thanks so much John for the kind words and certainly big browns have a way of drawing you to the water like moths to a flame. Let me know if you want any guiding as early as you can as I'm booked up a wee distance ahead these days. I'd love to help out in furthering your journey.
Blue sky, sunshine, great scenery and crystal clear turquoise water. What more could you want? With the dry fly on the hunt for the spotted. I would have loved to have such a river. Great Mike and thumbs up👍👍.
Awesome guys Awesome It's the size of the Fight!! Great Brown's 👍 Thanks so much for sharing great stuff guys!! Awesome footage and Camera work!! Good Luck too all on the water 👍 👍 The Vermonter USA 🇺🇸 🗽🇺🇸
🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻 🖤🖤🖤a new beautiful video awesome !!! ....You are absolutely correct!!... fly fishing is much more than only catching fish.......💡💡 more films please ..... all the best from switzerland 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Awww shucks! Thanks so much for your kind comments that are most humbling indeed. I'm just stoked you and people like you get enjoyment out of them. Thank you
Just being out there camping is soothing, standing in water catching Big Trout, nothing like it, its my favorite place to be, thanks for sharing your trips.
Amazing video mate! Loved that mouse eat! I've been tying them for a while and haven't had a chance to get one! Here's hoping this next season pans out!
Dear Mike, thank yoy again, what you are doing is the most real fly fishing looks like, what we usualy do with friends but in register. Love this videos
Awesome again mate , wonder if adding the nymph after a refusal just pulls the big dry down in the surface a little improving its profile in that fast water . Your videos make a cold Tassie winter just that bit warmer thanks
Could be... Can also hold the drift a little, or they lift to look at the nymph and closer to the dry to make it worthwhile... I aint a fish so will be blissfully happy not knowing. 🙂
Mike was für ein schöner Film, tolles Wasser, super Fische.👌👍👍👏👏Grüsse aus Deutschland
Cheers mate I appreciate it

Outstanding video and fishing. It makes one wonder, how early in the season is it apparent the mice will be about? Every fly fisher's dream.
There are so many pieces to the puzzle regarding weather and temperature that determine what if any seeding happens - just a wait send see really
Great quality gee...nz tourism should be after this promo for nz
Agreed! 🙂 Cheers!
I enjoy all your films! Those were fantastic browns. I would love to come fish with you someday. Definitely on my bucket list!
Cheers buddy I'll be here when you're ready!
Good shit Mike! After guiding 55 out of the last 60 days myself I must admit I’m a bit jealous of your busman’s holiday…
Hehe only those that find themselves in the daily grind truly know! 😅
Hi, great video, I want to ask what kind of fly rod you had when you caught the mouse trout, thanks for the answer.
It was a 5wt Guideline rod called an NT8. The new version of it is the NT11 which is superb
Another beautiful video, river and browns! Epic stuff! Can I ask what size tippet are you using in those conditions? Cheers!! Loving this series
Thanks! Pretty much exclusively 5lb 5x Fluorocarbon
