  • In this video I’m starting the restoration process for the 1974 Suzuki GT750. I’ll be getting the whole bike stripped down to just the frame.
New episodes should be up every month, showing the process of restoring each system.

great stuff, I never get tired of watching classic bike restoration, I've got a 1973 gt 550K, like what I had back in the day.
its just had the seals/bearings on crank shaft, and a rebore, so it should run properly now.

I remember when the 3 cylinder bikes came out, I just wanted to run screaming "Not 2 or 4 but 3 cylinders the world is ending soon". Well, after a few years, I finally got over it and here we are. I still don't understand how they could have a balanced running condition. Maybe you could speak on this. I can't wait to see your next video on this bike. I want that CB or any K1 750 in my grubby hands but I'm running out of time at 67 years old. Keep up the good work, I love it! Keep on riding my friend. Burning up in the high desert of Arizona, Peace

Thanks for sharing, I love hearing from you guys, and I really appreciate the feedback!
The three cylinders are supposed to be slightly better balanced than the vertical twins, but not as smooth as the 4 cylinders. I haven’t done the motor yet, but from what I’ve heard, they fire every 120 degrees of crank rotation as compared to the twin cylinders every 180 degrees.
I should be on the motor soon and I’ll give the good info on that episode.
I’m currently on summer break w the kids, but should have another video on the gt750 up in a month

I rode a GT750 Back in the 80's it belonged to an acquaintance, while approaching and into the power band it was the fastest accelerating thing I had ridden, it was amazing for the day. It used to eat crankshaft oil seals but otherwise was ok - ride safe!

When you come to strip the engine, be careful when removing the cylinder hear as they’re prone to snapping the bolts,& removing the cylinder block as they’re re renown for being a pig to remove, there’s a RUclips channel Suzuki gt750 idiot showing how to remove the block without damaging the cases or inflicting damage to the block, good luck with the restoration & look forward to seeing you progress

Our black widow spiders in Australia are called red back's, nasty little creatures, they don't like wd40 for some reason.
