What a lot of people don't know about in this story of the bible is deeper than the obvious. I will not explain the part most understand, but I will say that there was a jewish law handed down by Moses that for certain sins or crimes like repeat stealing, blasphemy and adultery were stoning offences by God's old Mosaic law. However there were rules once a sentence of stoning is served. Like who can take part in that particular stoning. Now if the offence was blasphemy any one who has ever been tried for blasphemy in the past, even if he has been proved innocent or even worse not enough evidence was found to be sure of the person's guilt. The law states that person, in the future cannot take part in judging and help carrying out the sentence in Any blasphemy case ever. Only other cases. Now in this story the woman is charged with adultery as was a prostitute and was caught in the act. Now alot of Jews slept with prostitutes at these days, even if it was done quietly and in secret. The Jewish priests also but they paid higher for a more discreet service so many of their flock didn't even know, Jesus knew that the majority of the stoning crowd (priest's included) were adulterers which in God's eyes would make them all disqualified in taking part in the stoning. Jesus knew that the priest were trying to trap Jesus in asking should he ignore Moses law given by God or not Jesus knowing all. Their minds, said “he without sin cast the first stone” is saying you will your hide your guilty adulterous crime so far as to comit murder to show how much you love God's law. That's why no one dare throw a stone as to incur God's wrath one day. Rather than take the chance, no one man or priest dare cast a stone. Further more. Like a reader correctly states “ Why didn't Jesus cast a stone as he WAS sinless? Jesus came to save not to condem therefore he said to the women “ they are gone they don't condemn you, nor do I. Go your way and sin no more” Jesus was ultimate in wisdom. All praises to father & son

Picture these alternate scenarios, if you will: Yeshua says the thing, and one of these guys is like, "All right, pal. We'll settle for _you,_ then," and throws. The stone just bounces off with no effect whatsoever-Yeshua doesn't even _blink._ Another tries it, to the same result. Then, Yeshua looks them all right in the eyes, and says something to the effect of "Care to see if third time's the charm, gentlemen?" Alternatively, Yeshua takes the legalistic approach. He asks each and every man present what particular sin they've ever been accused of, already knowing so-or at least, making an educated guess. All of them answer, "Adultery." Yeshua then says, "According to the law, you are forbidden to carry out punishment for the same offense you were charged with." Either case ends as in scripture: the men drop their stones and depart, and Yeshua tells the adulteress to take her leave and refrain from further sinning.
Jesus wasn’t a Christian and he didn’t start a religion as such. I would say he was anti-religion. He was scathing of Man made rules and regulations. He said there are only two rules: “Love God and love your neighbour” But since then of course , man has continued to make religious laws, rules, customs, rituals, built palaces, got rich, gone to war and slaughtered those it saw as different. We have learnt nothing from his teachings.
