    I don't know what life has dealt you lately but I like your outlook. You're right about remembering to look at what blessings we do have instead of what we don't have. Nice welds there for sure. Great job!!

      +1990notch thank you... i have gotten quite a but better at welding and this process since this vid... will update on some things shortly... as far as life, i have been fighting cancer (stage 3) for over a year now... all is as well as it can be given the situation... went through chemo-radiation, then major surgery, then more chemo (which im done with now) and need one more major surgery next month and i hope to be on the road to recovery and not have to deal with it again.. through all this.. i have no complaints about life... i wouldnt trade mine for anyone elses... my hard upbringing has helped to prepare me for this fight... nothing has come easy... but t could have always been worse... NO EXCUSEs...NO COMPLAINTS...

      +gtsdesigns i see this is an older video. been watching youtube vids and researching the ahp 200 for a while and saving $! does the torch get too hot to hold after a few beads? i tend to practice for hours on end and debating on ahp or a water cooled htp? thank you and welds look great! tim

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  8 лет назад

      i am currently building my own water cooler setup (for the ahp) and my own rotary weld positioner... i have threads going on both, in welding tips and tricks dot com forum, havent done a video on them, but may soon... i also just swapped the pedal out and that made an even better difference, i did good with the stock pedal, but the better pedal gave me better control and no accidental starts, that occur while trying to find or hover over the stock pedal... i am much more comfortable with the tig process now...

    Awesome man! This video is the last one I watched in a series of videos I've watched and blogs I've read and is the one that played a major part in what I'm about to do now which is order one of these bad boys for myself. I've also spent quit a bit of time on weldingtipsandtricks with Jody. That guy is not only a phenomenal welder he is an exemplary human along with the other people that helped you out with this.
    I hope this finds you well. Take care and have fun buddy and thank you for the video.

    Nice runs there and from the looks of it, you picked it up pretty quick! So I take it that you like the machine? Happy New Year to ya!

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  8 лет назад

      +Rudderify i do love the machine... i do see the benefit in getting a new pedal (havent done that yet) i also upgraded the end of the stock hose, with a 3' flex hose extension.... leaving the torch that came with it setup up for aluminum (17 flex)... and getting a 9 for most other welding... also the 9 parts interchange with a 20 water cooled, i think, which is what i want to settle on, once i set it up with a water cooler...

    ahp 2016 sounds weird when using AC function. i trade my 2014 ahp welder and buy a 2016 and now i have a little problems welding aluminum. i need to have little gap beweeen aluminum and tip to make a good weld and dip tip often by mistake. have you ever try old ahp welder using ac function? thankyou very much and good weld.

    which rods and tungsten tip are you using, seems to get a nicely shaped bead

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  8 лет назад

      +MisterE103 I think in this video, I was using 4043 and 3/32 tungsten (2% lanthanated)

  • @MarioMartinez-zi8sy

    What settings did you have it on? 2T or 4T? ac frequency, balance and post flow? I just received mine and picking out tungsten size, gas flow and we're you using ground on the welder for the tungsten and positive for your grounding clamp? I had a old school Miller that was huge and I could get the welds on that machine perfect but with this machine it's making me work. My old miller you adjusted the gas on the gun and it was a strike scratch start. The miller was so easy. I got this machine and figured with all the fancy pulse and frequency settings... It'll be cake to lay down a bead. I've watched various videos. Every video I watch contradicts previous videos. Is there anything that you can advance me? I'm hoping if I mess with it enough I'll get the hang of it. Thanks any advice would help. Your laying them beads nice. What's weird is my miller even sounded different. This machine has a high buzzing sound almost like a MSD display.

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  8 лет назад

      +Mario Martinez the 4t or 2t has to do with whether or not you are using the trigger or the foot pedal... i dont use the trigger (or havent yet). I dont see myself using it for the aluminum stuff i have been doing... i have done a ton since this vid and its still working nicely... with the 1/8" aluminum, i have been welding, the amps are set pretty high... as far as the rest... i played around with it quite a bit to learn the machine... i honestly played with every setting... for the most part I had learned a ton from JODY at WELDINGTIPSANDTRICKS.com I have been watching his vids for years and i suspect this helped me to jump right into getting comfortable with it fairly quickly... its hard for me to tell you settings, as I had changed it around quite a bit and have welded at different settings... what thickness of aluminum are you trying to weld... i can let you know my basic settings, however, the best thing for you to do, is to spend some time watching JODYs vids and then lay down some beads... anytime i had an issue with this machine, it was not the machines fault... and i havent had much issue with it at all... it does like 220 volt much better than 120 for aluminum for sure... havent had an issue with steel either...

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  8 лет назад

      +Mario Martinez try setting your ac balance to around 33... fq to 120 and set the main amp according to thickness... post flow 5 secs... turn the pulse off... make sure it is off unless you want to play with it... im not looking at the machine right now, but you may think you have it switched off and it my not be...

      +gtsdesigns Thank you for the advise. I'll check out those vids. It seems like everything else I've done in life. Play with it and find out what works for me. Good advice always helps. Thanks for the info.

    I have been thinking about one of the ahp machines how do you like it and is tig similar to gas welding I have never had a tig welder before you look like your making geat progress with it . very nice.

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  7 лет назад

      look at some of my most recent videos for more progress... but i made a water cooler for it and upgraded the pedal, i use a ck200 torch with the water cooler... still like the machine... a very capable one and great value for the price.. as far as it being similar to gas welding, you are still using gas with tig welding, did you mean mig welding? the two are different... but was easy to become comfortable with it... this will happen more and more, as much as you get some seat time in...

    • @chrismansker8870
      @chrismansker8870 7 лет назад

      well I have gas welded before and at one time was very comfortable welding with gas oxy acetylene, I have a mic welder now but would like a tig welder for aluminum and sheet metal

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  7 лет назад

      once you get used to it you will love it... spend some time watching Jodys videos at weldingtipsandtricks.com and join that forum, before you pick one up...

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  7 лет назад

      i missed where you put oxy acetylene, as far as gas.. i think you will do well with tig... its similar, but i would think easier to weld, control tig... but i have never welded with oxy acetylene.... am judging by videos

    FAM I saw your vid on your channel about turn tho 10/12 bolt in to big brake by using 98 to 2000 part on camaro. is there's a specific camaro ?? I am about to change my 10 bolt on my donk

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  8 лет назад

      +ZoCustom250 both the v6 and ls1 camaros in that year, will work the same, however, I have done a few 10 bolts and 12 bolts, i havent specifically done one off a donk, if the geometry is the same, then it should work the same/similar... these things are important to get right, so i am never comfortable saying this or that will work... ive done many conversions up to this point and i treat each one as if it is the first, to keep things in check...

      im just kinda throwing a disclaimer out there... be done plenty havent had an issue, but some people dont use common sense or dont pay attention and so i have to at least say "at you own risk" etc.. so if they do it wrong, they wont be trying to say it was somehow related to how i tackle my projects... hope that makes sense

    Are you using 120V at 30-50 amps? Looks like you are doing great

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  7 лет назад

      the machine runs a lot better imho on 220 volts... and i rarely am welding under under 60 amps for the stuff i do... but i have welded thin steel and aluminum with it also...

      @MrMrsregor 8 лет назад

      thanks, i might just order one tonight. i have been in need of an arc welder to do the heavy duty stuff my mig is not powerful enough for, and have always wanted but cant afford a nice tig welder. but this seams to be a good place to start and works well from what i hear and see on the net...thanks for the good demo! on your other videos the mini bike is insane and bad ass!

    • @gtsdesigns
      @gtsdesigns  8 лет назад

      i havent shown any updates on the mini bike stuff, but i do have some crazier stuff... i am thinning the herd, most of that was for my kids to have projects with me... i have a race bike for my daughter that i havent shown that is pretty nice... im into many hobbies though, so i switch back and forth between projects... ill do another video soon...
