For the KEF R 5’s to sound their best you should have them into the room at least 1 meter away from the back wall and side walls. Also, no toe-in, have them pointed straight into the room This will open up the soundstage and tame any brightness. Add a quality sub or two and these babies will sound fantastic! No wonder the KEF’s sound bright with the NAD M33. Your room looks like an acoustical nightmare! Two words of advice: room treatment!!

Nice video as I have just purchased a pair of these in the Walnut. Look fantastic. Just one point about your video, are you aware the cable is back to front going into the speaker. You can see the arrow is facing the wrong way. The end you plugged into the speaker goes into the amp. Thanks for showing the Kef R5’s.
I’m jealous yours didn’t arrive dented. Fedex really went to town on mine. The cardboard boxes are dented and they hit my uniq driver on one of the two. Tons of scuffs and other damage.
@@WitczakAudioUK i tried an arcam sa 20 with my ls50's and found it really bright, personally i would avoid arcam as they have reliability issues. Check out Hegel its what KEF recommends with there speakers, i have a Hegel H90 and its amazing
@@ntube7 top one is closer to mid and tweeters , low range is on second place by bridge build in but anyway it is any diffrence >? also cable looks better :)
@@hclandscapes should sound great, hegel is more like my NAIM. and for me it sounds decent, medium tones are impressive. The treble will rather not dominate, it should play it coherently. of course, the nature of both companies is different, but it does not differ so much that they will play good with R5s
@@WitczakAudioUK i really like the look of the R5's in walnut and build quality is amazing too. I currently have dynaudio emit 30's but i don't like the sound so much. Bass is boomy and not enough detail in music, i used to have KEF ls50 Meta's and i really liked this sound so the R5's should sound similar as they both have the same 12th gen tweeter ( apart from the meta part) and im hoping bass should be great aswell.
@@hclandscapes from ls50 meta to r5 , first tou will notice big difference in bass ,much dipper and bigger volume , you need tu run them for couple of months to settle and burn in , sound will changed

KEFs are overpriced speakers, marketing is good though, you could go better in this price point and for the 2k set (apart from budget amp) the placement will be the biggest issue for you. Rearrange your room if possible.

Are the R5s better than the R3s for the extra cost? I have two Rythmik F12 subs and wondering if the R3s would do it
If you got subs and gonna use it , beter option will be R3 . Little bit better sounding , but R5 have more base and much easier pair with the sub too

Hi . for now i got my old Yamaha a-s701 and cd 700 , but im planning to bay in the future Arcam SA30

What would be better than these R5 for $2k? I’ve heard them and frankly they had better detail than most of what I heard at the store.
