Thanks Douglas - I’m swamped right now with some really big projects, so unfortunately it will be October before I can really start producing new videos. I hope you stick it out with me until then 😊
I'm new here, I love your videos! I'm only 17 years old and i'm determined to learn. I always take down notes from #1 until now. Thanks for the free videos!
I have enjoyed the crap out of your Money School vids! One thing that I have always struggled to grasp is how individuals go about buying equities/fixed income assets to begin with. Are you planning on doing a video showing some form of generalised (almost How-To) method for acquiring assets & the routes you can go down? Thanks again for producing such quality vids, I really appreciate it!
Indeed! The next video will touch a bit on the different investment products out there. We might have a few more before we get to WHERE you can go to set these up, but we'll get there!
Too cool. Love your honesty in the video. Keep up the good work. Hope this comment is the dopamine kick enough to motivate you to make more useful videos.
Hi thanks to me it was very helpful since I don't know nothing about this topic want to know what I am getting into I am going to re watch them episode though
i have really enjoyed your video, it really helps me a lot with my plans on investment, am a second year actuarial science student with a hope an idea to form an investment componie in future
I have noticed a trend for stocks to grow in value over time, given long enough time periods... But is that a GUARANTEE? Will it ALWAYS go up, or at least not fall, over a longer period of time. (Say 30 years.) And how often do a stock rise in value compared to loosing? And is there a way to catch that the tide in turning quick enough to sell it, yet avoid selling it too soon as it could be just a short term down that will rise again later? And if it always (or nearly always) goes up over the longer term...is it really a risk at all? In the long term it looks pretty safe both ways, but one has a higher yield than the other.
I have 2 technical Qs, in a Bear market lets say like the 2008 recession do Bonds do better or stocks and assuming its government bonds? 2nd question is there are lot of articles on the internet saying Valuations are at an all time high with the Dow Jones hitting 25,000. Do you think there is a market crash going to happen soon (2018/19) ? Thanks
+Dillan Colleer In future videos we are going to talk about the history of the markets, including the long stretches where stocks underperformed, and whether or not we can use that to help think about the future, but, only going off the top of my head, I seem to recall a study that suggested you need just over 17(?) years before you could say with statistical confidence that stocks will outperform bonds, 19 times out of 20.
OMG, I am saying it with emotions but marry me haha. I feel super relaxed during your videos, no pressure, calm explanations. I appreciate it so much! This video was published when I was studying at school, rn I am a university student, high time to be a rich bitch haha
@@sophiareshetniak5301 You know it’s comments like this that motivate me to make another video. Thank you for the kind, kind words! Is there a specific topic you would like to request?

I feel like you should have always shown scenarios when the stock gives negative return; even on the long term.

Hi, great video! I have one question, what is the possibility of a 100% equity being worth less than the the 100% fixed income after the 30 years?
