    they also were used as ambulance. When my grandmother was in labour with my dad the Bombardier came and picked my grandfather and grandmother up to take them to the hospital because there was so much snow they couldnt drive on the roads that would of been in 1953 or 54 i remember my grandfather telling me this and saying it was a cold 20 mile ride not much of a heater in those days.

    That thing is so cool! Not many people care about the classics anymore, only how fast they can go.

    B-12 , held 12 passengers and a had a big-block V8. The skis had a center runner and it steers fine. Bombardier knew his stuff !

      +Jordan Krupp originally, the drivetrian is taken from '40 plymouth, it comes with a three on the tree, flathead l6 engine, clutch and rear axle.
      in field, a current improvement is to install the industrial version of the engine and HD truck clutch.
      on very late models, the chrysler industrial V8 engine was an option

    Andre - My late Mother in Law grew up in St. Joachim Quebec which is less than 20 kM from Valcourt, I remember her showing me a picture of a similar machine, in which she was transported to school (in the 1930's & 40's). Her maiden surname was Beauregard - and she was somehow related to the Bombardier family. I hope you still have the B12

    You need to put a throttle hold on that machine. It has nice paint. It's narrow. Have you ever considered outrigger skis.

    • @jeepsterdaddy37
      @jeepsterdaddy37 7 лет назад

      AugustusLarch, it's about 90% wood with a clear. the doors are about the only thing that's painted. indeed though the paint and the wood finish is excellent!

      @@camionboswell1 typical sound of the flathead Chrysler six, typical valve leaking sound too, these engines were notorious for burnt exhaust valves.

  • @UncleBarnaby

    Or you could just enjoy it as designed and not think you are smarter now then they were then. Just what you need things hanging off the sides to get you stuck in tight places

    jay leno won't even be caught in the snow. May if works on sand too.

    • @jacquespoirier9071
      @jacquespoirier9071 3 года назад

      to make it work on the sand in warm temperature, they need to improve the cooling system, they had a tendency to overheat when temperature was above the freezing point.
