If you have children and or grandkids, I hope they don't take you for granted. Just the way you chopped that onion reminded me of my Nana ❤. If it wasn't for my Nana I wouldn't know how to cook. I followed ur recipe in the crock pot now 🤞
Lol ... that's how i would cut onions too. Did that most of my life until i finally decided to get and use a cutting board. When I want to do a quickie, I cut them right over the pot. When I take more time, I will use the cutting board. Either way, those onions get cut. 😄👍. Great video!!
Thank you for showing us how you make pinto beans. For those who say, no no no. That's not how I make pinto beans. I don't care how you make pinto beans. I'm here to see how Mama Sue makes hers. I will try some oregano and chili powder next time.
I’ve been raised on Southern food. Putting Mayo on the beans, is a new one too me. I’ll give it a try. Now, my daddy would take that cornbread, and crumble it into a cold glass of buttermilk. I won’t, but he does. LOL
This is the best. I grew up in KS and this is how we had our beans minus the mayo. I may have to give the mayo a try. I tried the cornbread and milk as a kid. Wasn't my taste but my dad and grandad loved it. Still loving me some beans and fried potatoes and cornbread, Jiffy is the best!
I am a 34 year old man, but I will never have the guts to cut an onion like you did. I watched my mom do that my entire life, and it always blew my mind.
I take out all the split beans and any ugly looking beans and any possible rocks. I never soak them 😂 Then I put the cleaned beans rinsed well in the crock pot and fil with water leaving 1 inch at the top. This is for 1 lb (16 Oz bag) then I cok on high. After a while (like 4 hours I give them a stir)I then recover and leave at least another hour. I don't add anything while cooking. When they are soft and all done I add 2 tablespoons of oil and then salt to taste. My mom has always made the beans like this and they are delicious. The trick is to leave them be when cooking only check on them once. Good old pintos are the best!!
One of my favorite childhood memories (I am 74 years old) Is my mom taking a large bowl of pinto beans ,mayo, onion, and a little leftover bread mixed together. She would put us 4 kids around her and she would feed the 5 of us one bowl and one spoon
These pinto beans are fabulous! I’ve tried making pintos several times and they were yuk - but not these! Thank you so much! Had the beans, brown rice and cornbread - yummy dinner!
Definitely need some chow-chow in your beans. I didn't know it was called chow-chow until I was older and moved away. We call it green tomato ketchup back home in Ky
I loved your video. I'm from Texas and this is comfort food for me. Growing up we had this very meal oftebln: beans, pan fried potatoes and cornbread. Thanks for sharing.
Corn relish goes good in your soup beans.. Hot pepper rings go good too. I miss my momma’s cooking. In Was raised on soup beans/ fried potatoes, and cornbread at Least once a week all my life.. got to make some tomorrow
God bless your sweet heart. We love that supper too except I have never made my beans with those seasonings ....I will now tho to see if we love it...bet we will. Have a Sunday of blessings!! 💛💛
Thank you, Mama Sue. I love watching your channel on Facebook as well. This recipe looks very good. I think I will replace the mayonnaise with some sour cream. Have a wonderful weekend!
Love it, i am southern, and cook mine the SAME way. Including looking, washing, soaking. Mayonnaise, ALL ingredients, along with frued potatoes, and cornbread. I don't put hot sauce in mine, but i bet it is good. Thanks for sharing. Wondered how long to cook in crock pot.
You always have the best recipes! Those look amazing and I’ll absolutely be trying these pintos! Also, putting mayonnaise in them looks amazing. I had no idea Bama made mayonnaise; I’ve only seen the jelly. I’ll have to find some online and see how it compares to KRAFT, which is my favorite. God bless, Mama Sue!♥️

Your last comment brightened my morning….”Let others see Jesus in you.” Amen my sister. Blessings from the Navajo Nation.

Thank you Mama sue❤❤
Absolutely great downhome (Southern) cooking - just like my mama would make for us back when I was a kid growing up. Thanks!

Hi! I am a crock pot newbie and I have a little 2 quart crock pot. Do I just half the recipe? I'm excited to try this!
Yummy
Your kitchen is beautiful. My wife and I are in the process of buying our first house. What color are your cabinets?
how about the old southern way taco bake
with the bisqik on top...
hope you can make a video of this yummy recipe
No mayo but sour cream is good with beans!
No need to soak. But you forgot to add in a beef bone and bay leaves. Looks yummy though.
Yum..what does mayo do? Never would thot of that.
I have a colander just like yours. Have had it many years?
yes
I like mayonnaise on my pintos too🙂

How long the beans cooked 😔
The beans cooked about 5 hours.
I thought it was crazy to look for rocks. Then I found not one but two in a bag today! Gonna start believing those old wives tales now!
Why mayo???
When I cook Pinto Beans they don’t get soft, always crunchy even after soaking 12 hours and then cooking in slow cooker another 12 hours … I must be doing something wrong 😑
I know you from Alabama now the royal brand is from here in Alabama.
GILF
