In the 0:08 clip in the Tandem Charleston, you see a variant of that called the "Russian Kick", where the leader lifts the lady mid-way into the tandem charleston and kicks one foot between the lady's legs.
But there is a warning - that Russian Kick is an "air step". An aerial. So Lindy Hop social dance etiquette rules apply here. Don't be your own "Frankie Manning" on the social dance floor and do air steps especially if it is crowded or not enough dance space to do it. So with this in mind......
1. Never do the Russian kick type of charleston with unsuspecting partners. They may never want to dance with you again if you do.
2. Ask consent first, and then practice that Russian kick charleston away from the social floor.
3. Save this "trick step" charleston variation for lindy jams or lindy competitions. Best way to avoid injuries or even worse to you, your partner, or other dancers.

HI! You are great! One of the best tutorials I've ever seen! May I ask what footwork Brooks uses on the exit? I see that he uses different patterns and I don't quite understand the logic with which you can choose.

Holy moly, that's amazing! May I ask what shoes is Brooks using? Did he resole them? I'm truly struggling to find a good pair of practicing shoes (as for now I'm using an old pair of running shoes 😣).
