  • Here was the quarterly test of the outdoor warning sirens in Erie County, Pennsylvania. These sirens are tested quarterly between noon and one o’clock on the 15th day of January, April, July, and October. This WPS-3000 is located behind the Walmart Supercenter near the corner of I-79 and Route 6N. Unfortunately, the controller on this 3000 abruptly stops instead of featuring a full wind down. The other 3000 on the other end of the township can be heard at the end of the video.
This is one of two WPS-3000s located in Washington Township. The two units have somewhat of an interesting history. Auction stickers on the control boxes suggest that these sirens hail from University Park, Texas. However, before they arrived in Erie County, they appear to have spent some time in neighboring Crawford County. Kurt (Sirenfreak57) was also here for this test, please consider checking out his video.
    Recorded on January 15th, 2023.
