What….what happened…what….where is Neel’s face…where is this amazing face.
Lore dump time:
Bastion is the last E-54 Omnic model to exist, a war footsoldier to fight against humans in the omnic uprising. During the war, he got strayed and fell asleep for presumedly decades, until Ganymede the bird woke him up, starting the cinematic. After the cinematic, it is believed that he explored until being found by the people of Sweden (that's where he is). Torbjorn is commanded with destroying it but torb sees it is not violent, and hides it along with his daughter Brigitte.
The reason for that omnic beating in Hero:
For years, there was an omnic uprising over the world, as mentioned above. Overwatch was developed and quickly halted the uprising, but that always left some omnic racism in many parts of the world. Especially Australia and Russia.
There is an omnic group called the Shambali, lead by Mondatta. Two other heroes are members of this group, Zenyatta and the incoming hero Ramattra.
The Alive cinematic sees Widowmaker, AKA Amelie Lacroix, assassinating Mondatta.
Widow is part of an organization named Talon, who aim to force the world to adapt through chaos. The main member of Talon, Reaper, used to be Gabriel Reyes, who was a member of Overwatch. He was Partners with Jack Morrison AKA Soldier 76 (the guy in Hero), but after a prolonged falling out, thanks to the discovery of the discreet task force Blackwatch, Talon was developed and Reyes destroyed overwatch from the inside, "Killing" Morrison.
Winston is here from space, a place called the Horizon Lunar Colony, where another hero Sigma conducted the experiments that drove him insane. It was a map for the longest time in Overwatch 1, but was removed along with Paris. When the colony was eventually destroyed by the Genetically Modified Apes (and hampter), all workers died and Winston built a shuttle to escape to earth. Hammond, the hampter, also made a ball to follow Winston, but was detached and fell into Junkertown.
All existing Talon agents are Doomfist, Reaper, Widowmaker, Sombra, Moira, and technically Sigma.
Mei is a climatologist as part of Ecopoint, a split off part of Overwatch in charge of monitoring the world. They were set up to try and prove that the increasing temperature of the world was not due to the manufacturing of omnics, thus preventing more stigma against omnics. In the time of the ecopoint's Cryogenic sleeping, Overwatch disbanded via the Petras Act.
You may be wondering why Tracer and Winston specifically are always together in clips. Tracer suffered a terrible accident when testing out a new shuttle as its pilot. She was lost through time, essentially. Winston managed to keep her in the world and gain control over her issue, with a "Chronal Accelerator", which caused the friendship the two have.
Dragons:
Genji and Hanzo shimada are two brothers in the Shimada Clan, a noble japanese clan who also was associated with crime. Alot of it. Genji was alot more lax in training gaining the nickname Sparrow. When their father was taken out of the picture one way or another, Hanzo believed that he had to fill the roll of the leader of the Shimada Clan. He tried getting Genji to interact with the clan more, but he didn't care much and as such Hanzo "killed" Genji. He was saved by Mercy and given that cyborg body in exchange for doing missions with Overwatch. He is one of the 4 members of Blackwatch as a result, along with Moira, Reaper, and Cole Cassidy (formerly named Jesse McCree, but was changed for associating with bad people reasons. Explaining this for the Reunion short, where he is called McCree.)

There’s gonna be a few shorts that aren’t in this, also I recommend reacting to all the origin stories. You’re watching a video that a lot of people tend to watch which tries to organize it by time, but I personally think it’s just better to watch the shorts and origins together in release order. Still, you’ve done it this way which is fine, but you can learn more from the origin stories, and the artwork is very cool

Short explanation on the Omic vs Human war
The robots were purposely not programmed with AI. Only one robot was made to have an AI and this robot sacrificed herself to give all omnics life. So it likely was that because everyone was used to them being just pieces of metal that when they started to do their jobs that people threw them away and dismantled them and triggered the robot which made them declare war against the entire war. So this ain't really a Human to dumb to listen when in reality the omnics were never programmed to be sentient and therefore when they didn't do their job were seen as not working and then thrown away which they saw as killed so a war began.
And keep in mind the war was literally a few decades prior so many people were born into war against killing machines. There are many good omnics and bad omnics and those in the grey. Some places are still at war with Omnics such as Australia
