I'm obsessed with the Adamantine Golem. When this set comes out, I'll definitely be weighing these boxes by hand to guess which one has the golem in it :)
That Jabberwock may be the most impressive booster box dragon-esque monster we've seen yet in any miniature line, hoping to see more like this and the young adult white dragon in the upcoming D&D sets.
I really love this set! I don't play Pathfinder, just D&D 5e, but I could easily use these minis for my games and they would make an awesome addition to the little bit of minis I've been able to pick up. As a DM, any amount of minis that I can get my hands on helps tremendeously! My favorite of the set definitely has to be the Attic Whisperer!
@@leobeoneo1012 i havent made one yet, but had the idea of a demon/fiend that takes the form of a child (and acts as if it is a child's ghost) to manipulate mortals and eventually attack and kill them. would prob have charm and fear effects and such
Honestly, this whole set is pretty incredible, I really like the Adamantine golem, Jabberwock, and Shoggoth. I'll be hoping for one of those to create an interesting encounter in a 5e game. Big props to Wizkids for making the coolest minis recently, the sculpts keep getting better and better!
I love how different and wierd this set is, i love all the drider and drow minis perfect for the setting, and that wood giant... i need it for my dnd giant collection. Many of the creatures and monsters from this set gave me tons of inspiration for my dnd campaign.
Big minis, strange minis, good sculpts, and powerful creatures are my favorite. So this set is outstanding. It's a real shame about the breakages. It seems to be partly a consequence of daring sculpts, but packing two large minis without both locked down is a terrible idea. Not too woried about 4 more dollars for more big minis, but the greater number of rares (or singles) has me concerned. $40 - $60 for a small aftermarket pre-painted mini is not great. Ultimately, I agree with what you a said a while ago: my favorite minis are usually ones that facilitate good storytelling. Nice to see your kitty again, too.
The detailed minis are amazing! Prices do tend to go up because of the detail of the minis but I hope it won't be that steep when they are sold on stores. Also, given the detail and weight of some of them, packaging and shipping should be priority so that buyers get the quality that they paid for. Good luck on your move and excited for the things to come this year from you guys!
Greetings! I like the direction with the clear bases and the heightened detail for this set. My favorite is the cave troll for its versatility. Very comprehensive video, as always.
Theo, thanks for the information about this. I usually use Pathfinder to fill my D&D collection, so it was cool to learn about their analogue for the Underdark. Great review as usual!
I'm so excited for this set. Ive been reading through the drizzt series and this set will be awesome for running my underdark adventure I want to run. Also glad to see all the mini's on clear bases.
I was so stoked to see this episode come up! Been looking forward to this set since I am currently running a new PF campaign and I love to go all out for my players and have detailed battle maps. Thanks for the video!
This is an amazing set!! It's really cool learning about a different variation of the Underdark but some of these could even work in other dark creepy places like Barovia. I think the quality of the set far outweighs the flaws, I will be picking up several of these miniatures when they come out, especially the giant stag beetle for my brother. He would love it! : D
That cavern troll is very cool, but I also really like the various undead in this set. I might have to look into getting some of these and homebrew their stats for dnd. Great review as always:) In my opinion too I'd rather get more large minis purely because, in my experience, prepainted minis look better the bigger they are and are often much more impressive on the table.
The Underdark is my TOP Favorite campaign setting! All the Drow, Deep Gnomes, Deep Dwarves, Spiders and other Monstrosities lurk there... AWESOME SET!! Another Great Unboxing Theo!
Here I thought that the Fangs and Talons video was my favorite review video, but this video has definitely become my #1 favorite. The attic whisperer is definitely one if my favorite minis from this set, such a creepy mini.
I loveee the pathfinder creatures and i never knew that they made pathfinder booster boxes. Im in love with the paint jobs so ill make sure to pick them up.
This set is amazing and has so many cool monsters which spark my imagination. I love the Jabberwock and Shaggoth, but smaller things such as the Leucrotta and Giant Toad, should make for memorable encounters when placed on the table.
I just started buying prepainted minis thanks to your videos, so thanks for all the great reviews! I haven't gotten a full case yet, so I learned that the commons of the set have to be interesting for me to consider them, and this set has lots of interesting commons. I'm fascinated by the giant amoeba!
I love how this set seems to highlight a lot of what makes pathfinder distinct and characterful when compared to dungeons and dragons. I’m still of the opinion that the clear bases are in many ways more distracting and less effective at highlighting the figure than black bases, but some minis (like the leng spider and quoppopak) do make a lot of sense with clear bases.
I never really got into pathfinder but some of the monster designs in this video are really making me consider it , especially the fleshwarps and shoggoth
I love the Shoggoth, just on the basis of Lovecraft. I was also really excited to see the Drow Priestess, but was hoping it would have a sword to be used as a servant of Eilistraee.
Awesome stuff, my group will be hitting underdark plotlines in the next 10 sessions or so, having alot of these would be awesome even for 5e, time to start saving
I'm very excited to see boneyard, but I've been exited for this video as well! I enjoy hearing about the minis, and seeing them in insanely good detail, keep up the good work!
As an primery dnd player and gm i have been buying and collecting the dnd boxes when they finaly comes to Sweden but this set makes me want to start gathering the pathfinder minis as well. It was the cavern troll and shoggoth that did it for me.
This has to be one of the coolest sets yet, I absolutely love so many of these , I have never bought a whole case but man this may well be my first! I am looking forward to the launch of your patreon, I just happen to have found out over the weekend the judge granted my disability claim so you know I'll be in my friend! I'm sticking to my advice to have a patreon contest where some of the winners picks a character to go in an adventure you or Grady writes, to me that would be worth an amazing price to get my paladin in one of your adventures or possibly to immortalize a loved one I have lost.
Thanks a lot for this review Theo! The video is superb, the lore on each miniature is wonderful and really helpful!! I'm tempted to buy a case for this set but with so many releases in so short time it has become really hard to do.
@@TheGallantGoblinHaving only in the last 8 months started collecting miniatures. The reviews across the board have been excellent alongside the previews to help me decide which miniatures I want to try and hunt down. Thanks for being transparent and awesome!
I love Gnolls/Hyenas, so I'm thrilled for the Leucrotta! The cavern trolls are awesome! Could work for elementals, golems, and even a couple critters from the psionics stuff. I'm excited about the Jabberwork having a mini, finally! Snicker-snack! The wood giant and the Treant are both nice too! Perhaps you could get one of those clear button things that people put on the back of picture frames to keep them from leaning out from the wall...a bumper or something, not sure of the name...you can ask the framer at Michaels or something if one is near you what they are called...anywho...put one of those between the head and base of the big spider? Might help support the weight and then you can stand it upright without concern. :) Just an idea! ...a drawn-out, rambly one...hah!
Great review Theo, some very interesting minis in this set, they look very detailed and definitely a step up from previous Pathfinder sets. Oh, and really like the clear bases! PS. Hope the move is going well, and love the Leucrotta mini!!
Never looked into pathfinder boosters all that much, however, I'm gonna have to buy a couple of these cuz they look amazing. Too bad about the many broken ones, although they're easily fixed.
Great vid! This is the most exciting set I've seen yet! The Jabberwock is an absolute beauty, but I'm weirdly excited about those gnomes! They look EXACTLY like one of my player's characters, so I'll have to invest in more than a few boxes...
Big fan of this set, especially love the Jabberwork, Aboral Regent and the Scarecrow! I’ll be buying those if I don’t get them in a box that’s for sure!
The Jabberwock is massive. The size of these minis are fantastic. The paint jobs are superb. What a unique and interesting set. I look forward to the day when a party will have the chance to go snicker-snack against that Jabberwock.
The Jabberwocky is my favorite by FAR. It's got such an interesting lore and artwork. I always play pathfinder with custom campaigns because I think it's so well suited for it!
I like that there are multiple variations of the most common creatures you’ll find in groups. As a DM it’s great that I can use dedicated minis of a race.
i love the gnome warrior and adamantine golem. so many great ones! wizkids has come a long way in quality and detail in their mini's. while I do think the mini's are worth the money, $20 for a mystery box is pushing it. might just start buying them individually
