This song perfectly represents an old friendship I had with someone where I think we both thought it would progress into an actual long term relationship. We were best friends at the time. It never got there, and ended in a difficult way. The verses fit it so well. It was so hard for me to let go, and took a very long time to get over it. Yet it is beautiful to listen back to it again, because years later, I went on to meet someone else, the love of my life who fits me so well and we have a wonderful life together. I hear the verse, “Here’s to the man of your dreams”, and it actually makes me tear up, because when I listened to this song back then, I was struggling and hurting so much from the loss of this old friendship. I felt so hopeless, and had no idea what my future held. Little did I know.

Not to sound like a fray nerd, but on Reason EP it was just called Oceans. It was called Oceans Away on the first EP album, Movement EP.
