I've been using a Bluetti AC200L with 2 add-on batteries as a UPS. It is not perfect, and certainly doesn't have the comm port for graceful shutdown, but I get 9 hours of runtime @ 600w. Plenty of time to sleep in before firing up the generator, hehe. Another bonus is that the batteries last like 20 years and not 2. And you can connect up to 2400w. The UPS feature of the Bluetti switches fast enough for the huge variety of gear I have, but can be tricked with on/off/on/off random cycling like occurs when a windstorm blows trees down. So my setup is: power --> Bluetti --> APC --> tech toys. A few years in now and zero problems despite lots of power outages.

9 hr @ 600w! Very impressive! Then I searched for it, and saw the price... Let me stick to my e-waste :)

@@hz777 True, true... But with some patience and shopping you can find them cheaper, sometimes by a lot.

Nice, I'm running nut server already in a raspberry pi 5, it manages a pfsense and a synology NAS.. didn't know that Unifi devices could corrupt in a unsafe shutdown, no documentation about this anywhere

UNVR uses ext4, unas uses brtfs file system. There is no reason why other vendor's NAS devices need properly shutdown but Ubiquiti's do not.
In UNVR/unas's small LCD menu, you can shutdown the units, but it's just there is no physical power button.

to address the shortcoming i think the apc has a feature to restart/ reboot the output when the power comes back. but i think you need to change your topology to accomodate that feature. are you shutting down the ups as well after the timer expires and power is not rerestored yet?

Yes, by shutting down the UPS, RPS will lose power, then the unvr can restart. However, I do want to run the UPS till it runs out of juice. And if I shutdown UPS from nut, how to restart it automatically may be a new issue...

In my ups I have a setting that you can restart the ups when power is restored after you shut it down. In my experience when you run the battery down of the apc ups it shortens the run time for the subsequent outages thus shortens life of the ups batteries.

@@jaypinesagree, but for my e-waste level UPS, its lifespan is the last thing I worry about.
