Hi Ian, Thank you for such comprehensive reviews I really enjoy your time and enthusiasm. I recently purchased the Nagaoka MP-150 because of your review and I must say you were spot on. What a fantastic cartridge clean clear no muddle. Excellent Bass Mid and Treble all well defined. It copes well with all genre of music that I enjoy, Jazz, Easy Listening, Rock, Soul, Pop etc. I also have the Goldring 1042 another excellent cartridge although it is a little on the warm side and I find it lacks a little sparkle. My current set up is as follows: Amplifier Yamaha AS1100 Tone Arm SME 3009 Non Improved Garrard 401 Turntable Schiit Mani Phono Pre Amp Speakers Tannoy Revolution Xt 6f Floor Standing Speakers I also purchased the Schiit Mani on your recommendation and again your were spot on. Thanks again for your great reviews. Kind regards Richard United Kingdom
Dear Richard, thank you very much for taking time writing out for us🤗🤗🤗!!!! We know much more now about its comparison with the 1042, which I find very good too. Gotta agree, 1042 just lacks a bit of sparkle and just a tad warmish. Cherish your Garrard 401 for life my friend.....and that non-improved SME3009. Beautiful your system. Enjoy all the genres Richard!!! Best Regards, 🤗ian
Sensible audiophile, true music lover and may i say "Ian the magazine reviews killer", next to your reviews theirs seem almost comical anecdotal!! Always eager for your next channel post!! Amazing stuff, amazing work amazing channel!!
summit 1_1 Dear Buddy. Humbled by your comments. Thank you very much my friend. Warmest Regards and may you always be listening and enjoying vinyl analog joy every day...it is just so soothing and different from all that digitized media that hit our ears from our phones and cable tv... may you always find time every evening👋😄, smiling and satisfied by listening to records. Your joyous personal time. Best Regards Buddy💪🌞!!!
This is my favourite channel on RUclips. I checked out the MP110 on your recommendation, and I absolutely love it. It's head and shoulders above anything else I can afford, and I'd probably never have thought to check it out otherwise. Thanks for making these immensely informative and charming videos..
Dude, I've never seen anyone as "excited" about cartridges as you are! Then again, I play vinyl but it is not my primary format. Being older than you, I appreciate what Hi-resolution digital brought to the table. But I love to see the vinyl guys do their shtick, forest of cartridges, needles, tone arms and all the rest. Enjoy whatever format floats your boat! We all have our hobbies.
Boom! The Nagaoka strikes again! Almost 20 years ago I wrecked the cantilever of my MC cartridge whilst cleaning the turntable. I replaced it with a much cheaper 'XXXXXXX' MM cartridge as I had a very limited budget Guess what? I'm still using the same cartridge (not the same stylus obviously!) I'll reveal the name after you've been through all the MMs in your series. Spending more money doesn't guarantee better sound as your series has clearly shown. Great work once again. Many thanks.
Dear Ian, as proud owner od NP 150 (on my Sansui SR 838) based on Your review, i must congraculate You on this amazing review/video!! i was considering Hana fior my VPI scout (now with spectacular low output Denon 304) but i think this story is ended now. I must congraculate You on this honest, true and unbiased review. You are rare plant in audiophile world today and i completely agree with summit1_1 that magazine reviewers sound ridicilous compared to You. I watched this video twice tonight!! Amazing! I am also intersted in review of Dynavector cartridge since i am considering it as my MC cartridge (now when Hana is dropped from the list). Conglatulations again!! Can't wait for next video. Cheers. Nikola
Dear Buddy Nikola!! :-D Hahaha great great!!! You ARE having it, reeaaallly good!!! Your MP-150... somemore you bought it fresh while you were in Japan a few months ago! Smells nice the box with its Japanese instruction sheet eh? :-D Hahaha....I am so happy for you! I am very humbled by all of you friends' kindest support and understanding of the difficult work I have been going through...and I am really humbled by you reading other friends input, e.g. summit1_1's . Brother, thank you. Warmest, best regards to you and your family and vinyl buddies around you! ~ ian.
Bravo, Ian. Great comparison - nice editing - and most importantly, I appreciate your passion for revealing the differences while providing audible examples for us.
Brother, always having your kindest time and support. Thank you buddy! Have a great Record Store Day 2018 come April :-D . See you soon and warmest regards, happy Lunar New Year!
Magnificent! Your jazz selections mirror some of my collection, and gave me Xtra valuable comparison. You've convinced me. Your ear for sound is phenomenal and your reviews can be trusted without argument.
Buddy, thank you again for catching up here... thank you for your kindness and encouragement... i will aim to work on with diligence, to do more for all of you lovely friends!!! Enjoy your jazz records my friend!!..
Hi, I had just been contemplating upgrade to an MC and read many online articles supporting the MP-150 in their comments. This video certainly helped in many ways, particularly the cost v performance issue. Thanks for your time and efforts. Much appreciated. Rob.
Dear Buddy👋😄 i am very happy to be of help. Please have a wondrous time enjoying top notch vinyl analogue sound reproduction!!!!! We deserve it. Warmest Regards Buddy in Jazz...and enjoy your Miles Davis😄🎵🎶!!!
Hi Ian, GXFC! After coming back from CNY overseas visiting/reunion, I was greeted with a notification of your new review. I immediately find a place (Starbucks) to sit down to watch through the great revelation! No matter how prepared I was, it was always difficult to hide the sense of awe when one realised that the price and performance do not always correlate with each other in a logical manner. I guessed the wide grin on my face then might have scared a few customers sitting around me... :) Thanks for your relentless no-holds-barred reviews and recommendation, I am currently enjoying the fruits of your hard work. VC members really benefit from your detailed analysis - the dissection and deconstructing of each cart for its strengths and weaknesses. Two thumbs up for you! Last but not least, wishing you and your family a Happy and Prosperous Year of the Dog!
Buddy, XNKL GXFC too!!!! I feel extremely humbled by your Starbucks comment...... Brother, I am really glad and happy to have unravelled and confirm some truths and we can all be happy with less hype and marketing persuasions :-D, and live on listening to our records with sheer analogue joy. I was having a headache yesterday, and I shut off my lights, and put up some musicmatters AAA jazzz records, an MP-110 on my P3 and Mani, and I emerged after 30minutes, refreshed. During the session, my mind was soothed. Brother, thank you for your kindness and time. I am again, humbled by your friendship and efforts to write to me again, Happy Lunar New Year of the Dog to you and your lovely family and vinyl buddies around you, we catch up anytime. ~ ian.
What I really can’t wait for is a series of shootout videos featuring the Nagaoka MP-110 vs MP-150 vs MP-200 vs MP-300 vs MP 500. Really enjoy your videos! Keep up the great work!!!
Buddy :-D i will do my best. May I let you know, by courtesy, that the Group E ($350-400) and Group F ($550-700) shoot-outs will involve the MP-200, MP-500 vs the Goldrings (e.g. 1042), Grado (Platinum, Sonata), ATs, Ortofons (2M Bronze and 2M Black). Thank you for your kindness and time writing to me. Your warm words and encouragement are reassuring and encouraging me to continue the hard work ahead. Thank you buddy! Best Regards to you and your family and vinyl buddies!
I bought my MP150 in Nov 2017 based on Ian's positive review and past experience with an MP10. I am very satisfied with the performance of the 150. This review is the first i'm aware of comparing MM to MC cartridges directly. Very enlightening indeed! I very much appreciate Ian's articulate reviews. He has a way of phrasing that really helps me understand what he's trying to describe. ie when he talks about "flashing LED bass". I'm very impressed by the fact that the differences between these two cartridges was not subtle! I have now purchased several of the albums that Ian uses to review with so I can familiarize myself with my own system. Keep up the good work Ian!!!
Brother, you have been so fortunate having the MP-110 and Planar2 and then the MP-150 :-D Way to go man! And btw, if heard over a two speaker stereo system, the results and effects are even much more astounding. Digitization of analogue content for comparisons are not accurate, and RUclips's compression rips away even more truthful effects. 👋😄but we have no choice here. Just take it as a honest review with some Visual and Audio accompaniments 😄🎶🎶🎥!! Brother, enjoy your lovely system and records. Very happy to be of service to all of you dearest friends.Yours,~ ian
Ian, thank you for ALL your hard work and professionalism in your videos. I am VERY happy with my recently purchased MP-150, thanks to your time showing it off !! Steve
Dear Buddy Steve, thank you too for your kindness and time chatting up with me!! I owe it to you friends' friendship too to allow me to do my utmost best. I will continue doing so... you guys have been amazing. Thank you my friends :-D Thank you Steve! Warmest Regards, ~ ian.
Great review. I'm happy you are now providing direct recorded samples, rather than playing it through your speakers and recording it with a microphone. Before we could never fully hear the points you made in your reviews. Now all your observations are clearly noticeable in the samples. Good Job!
Okie buddy :-D!!! Thank you for this nice gesture of yours writing in!!! I will continue to do it this way :-D Best Regards and have a lovely vinyl journey~ ian
Every so often I go back to watch your videos to recreate myself with the music and your comments. I just hope that when this is over you can continue your work and continue to guide us through Hi-Fi.
paul dow Buddy, thank you🤗! Continuing to do my best for you dearest friends. May you enjoy a lifetime of analogue bliss💪😄✌!!! Warmest Regards my friend, ~ ian
Thank you so much for making us aware of such an awesome cartridge. Because of your review I ordered the MP-150. WOW!!! I also use the Dynavector 20xl (the older version) and the Ortofon Bronze, like all of them but I am LOVING the Nagaoka! I can only imagine what the MP-500 sounds like. Thanks again,
I stayed up late last night listening to so much music, every album just sounded better than I remembered. PS: I also bought the Schiit Mani, but I was using the MP150 with the Parasound JC3 jr, I am going to try it with the Mani tonight. Thanks again for the review.
Ian...again, thanks for the kind shout out ;) This video again shows you can't buy into the audiophile magazine marketing hype. I have seen the Hana's hyped in Stereophile and the Absolute Sound multiple times these past two years. One who would buy into the hype would not know any better. I gotta say, I was guilty of this when I started my vinyl journey ten years ago. I am hoping more people will catch this video before making they make the MC step. The bass demonstration was incredibly striking for how bad the Hana is. If a cart can't reproduce good bass, it's a deal killer for me. BTW - Your editing and track selection of demo material is top notch! Allowing the viewers to hear to immediate examples in somewhat of a repeat helps solidify the aural image of what is good and bad.
I've got more out of watching your videos with these cartridge shootouts than any other source in The Last 5 Years thank you so much and it makes me feel like I don't have to spend a fortune I've Got The Knockout Oka mp150 and I'm ready to live with it for a long time I'm very happy thank you. Ron from Arkansas United States
Hurry up and do the MP500 already! A very thorough and lovely review Ian, thank you :-)

Love your reviews dude. Worm, Detailed, well formulated and objective. Among the best on RUclips, So much I can tell after my 40+ years with vinyl. Thumbs up, just stay in the groove
Brother Michail💪😄, you are one with 7 times my years in vinyl playback and appreciation. I am your junior. Thank you Big Brother Michail🤗 for giving me your blessings. Thank you my friend.

@@HiViNywschannel Love what you do bro, it remembers me how it was when I was younger. It's definite your passion, you're burning for the cause and I wish you only the best, as your beautiful family. You know, not everyone,s been given those gifts, to enjoy in what they love with their folk, own family. Only the blessed ones. I'm just so glad to see you guys still have fun with those things, vinyl, hi-fi, music..
Hi Ian, watched loads of your videos and bought the MP 150 after watching this one! It just arrived at the door, I'm excited! Thanks for the video. All the best.
Hi there! I've watched several of your reviews and they helped me a lot, not only in chosing a better cart for my money, but also to become a more analytical listener when it comes to AB gear comparisons. I believe that you are doing a great job in these reviews! You now have a new friend in Greece. Be well, keep swinging!
Thank you, Ian, for introducing me and the world to the Nagoaka MP-150. ....after having it for some years now (turntable: Technics 1200G); I now feel the Nagoaka MP-150 gives me a sound I CAN ENJOY FOR MANY YEARS TO COME from my vinyl front-end (even more than the Nagoaka MP 200...will sell it)
Brilliant work Ian. I can clearly hear the differences you describe through my Sennheiser momentum headphones plugged into the laptop. The differences in the bass sections and also with the classical music isn't subtle either. The 'professionals' should be taking your lead and emulating what you do to give meaningful reviews. Thanks Ian, really appreciate your efforts!
Dear Brother, exactly! You are right about listening through great headphones and getting the differences clearly :-D Thank you BUDDY :-D !!! yes the bass and the classical sections... not subtle. Thank you! Warmest Regards and have a great vinyl'ing journey ahead. ~ ian.
You are like a rare diamond reviewing these things like no other can it's so refreshing to see this type of review you are truly expert gifted sweet men a big fan Steve Costello
Dear Buddy Steve!!! Thank you again, for always taking time out to speak to an old friend in me!.... thanks for your kindness for me for the past one year... May you and your family score some great black friday sales and enjoy a great pre-festive period!!! Hehheh!!! ~ ian.
Thanks Ian for yet another comprehensive, detailed and enlightening review. The fact that the MP-150 defeats the Hana EL is very clear from your demonstrations. What is MORE AMAZING and a REVELATION is the fact that a humble MM cart/ phone package of approximately £400 here in the UK is superior to a £6,000 MC/ phone package! That is the take home here!! Literally a revelation! You know some years ago I remember friends listening to my fathers system that included a LINN Axis turntable with a Statin (I think it was Statin from memory but it was a MM cart for sure) MM cart installed - it was connected to the MM stage of an Audiolab 8000a amp into Epos ES14 speakers. We were listening to a live album of Simply Minds, the 3D sound stage, hard hitting drums, amazing guitars felt so real that we were all air playing drums and guitars because we were so drawn into the play back and performance. My friends thought my fathers system was fantastic, they had never heard such realism!. A few years later the cart was changed from that MM cart to an Audio Technica OC5 MC. The sound was not the same - the dynamics, sound stage, hard hitting drums etc were radically reduced, the system had lost it's live performance standard. This revelation just proves the point - How SUPERB a good MM cart can be, even beating costlier MC carts. Bravo Ian for reminding me of those special moments with the MM cart on my fathers Linn Axis!
YES BUDDY DAVID!!!!! THANK YYOOOOUUU!!!! That is the take home here!!! This £400 is better than a £6000 MC-phono package! Though I must stress that not all MC carts are good....and all those Hana advertisement monies THROWN IN and SPENT by the chief retailers/distributors in the U.S. on their stereophile and absolutesound magazines, are *skewing* how "good" the Hana carts are. Yup it is made by Excel of Japan, yes it is a OEM manufacturer for a few other cart brands, BUT it is still a HEAVILY MARKETED💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵 cartridge brand with big monies spent on advertisement spreads within the first 50 pages of these magazines, and OCCUPYING DOUBLE-PAGE SPREAD advertisement space every month. We the consumers are wise and not be duped. 💵💵💵💵💵💵 given, means good reviews. You scratch my back, I scratch yours. The Dynavector xx2mk2 MC cart when paired with the very transparent and outstanding MC Pulsare2 phonostage (I took months of auditioning many MC phonostages to decide on the Pulsare2) DO sound transcendental and crazily great. I make this point because this poor performance of the HanaEL in the review here, is purely due to the Hana EL's poorness, and not due to the Pulsare2😄👍. I read with delight and fond imagination of your memories and experience with your dearest father's Linn Axis, ....the Statin MM and the Audiolab 8000A's MM phono circuit+amp....GIVING OUT ALL THOSE hard-hittingness, dynamism and realism and making all who heard it at your home engrossed and engaged,.....HAAAPPPPYYY💪😄👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🍾🎈🎉😍😍😍😍😍👍🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Dear Sir, thank you yet again for catching up here. Thank you for your kind time and encouragement :-D I will continue to work hard and diligently to serve the useful information for all of you dearest buddies and friends. Best Regards, ~ ian.
Every one of my friends who have one here dislikes their units though.... I am really, really sorry about it. Best Regards, and hope you have had a great weekend and a peaceful one awaits you :-D Cheers cheers!! ~ ian.
I bought a Nagaoka MP150 because of this review. Oh man. The best $209 dollars I've ever spent. One million thank you's. Best cartridge on my VPI ever. Thank You Thank You.
Hi Buddy! Thank you too😄for catching up!!!! Blistering performance and engrossing sessions for yoooouu!!! Enjoy your sturdy VPi!!!! Love the build of them!!!💪😄👍ALWAYS yummy looking too of course!!!!! Let's enjoy our beautiful vinyl analog!!!🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎶see you anytime Buddy!
Dear Ian, I am glad to see you are back , over the past 9 months I have become a big fan of your reviews and your channel. I have invested in the Nagaoka MP 150h for my Technics SL1700mk2 , I have seen it has the same body as the 200 so I can upgrade the stylus at a later stage if I feel the need for more. It has arrived today , like you , I am looking forward to enjoying both over the next year. Thanks again, best wishes to you and your family for 2021.
Dear Buddy! :-D thank you for your immense words of encouragement!!!!! WOW A TECHNICS SL1200Mk2, MP-150H and soon a 200!!!! :-D SUPERB. May you, your family and friends in your community, be strong, healthy, and happier too this new 2021!!! :-D Love, ~ ian.
Once again, fantastic review Ian. So glad that the MP-150 keeps coming up a champ - based on your reviews I would have picked one up if I didn't love my Grado so much (plus it is a matched cart to my table)...
Brother Kris, your Grado remains one of my top favourites always :-D!!!!! Great that you and M are enjoying life to the fullest!!! Great recovery you have too!
Hey Ian, You are quite an audio community treasure. I cannot tell you how glad I am you're doing these evals and comparisons. You are helping those across the globe who are getting lost in the myriad of choices of not only carts but TT's, phono stages etc. One of the biggest things is you are making me realize that unless you're willing to spend mega bucks on MC carts and set up transformers that the Nagaoka's all, make MC's almost obsolete! One thing looks like it may make MC's more affordable is the Schiit Mani but ... is it as good on MC carts as it is on MM's? ... Your buddie, Vic
Brother Vic....I am very happy that my plans and intention that I had 6 years ago, to really help the community get to the best and to the truth of it all, that state of things, without being explicit nor acidic on the bad guys and the bad things that have been happening in the industry, have been appreciated and seen through, by you and fellow friends. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿 Thank you Vic....for coming to lend your strongest support and friendship🤗🙏🎶 😄and yes, you are right, the Mani is not so good with low output MC carts. You also said it so succinctly and it really make me very happy: that, there is no need to spend so much money to go MC with all that money dumped on transformers and expensive MC phonostages!!! The permalloy nags and consistent quality and sound quality, coupled with some affordable simple to set up MM phonostages, will settle the listening journey once and for all. Thank you Brother Vic. Warmest Regards, and send jy regards to *your family* on this fine Sunday you are having. Hi five🏡🙌🙌🏡
@@HiViNywschannel You are quite the guy my friend. I found myself asking if there is some way we out here in audio land can help and/or support your efforts. I sat and listened last night to my Denon VL12 with stock arm, Signet AM 10 cart through my 1985 Conrad Johnson PV 5 pre with great tube phono stage into a new Decware SE84UFO SET amplifier into my Zu Omen DW's ... WOW, the Denon really sings on everything I played ... jazz, pop and classical. I'm still interested in some comparative analysis with Technis before I retrofit my recently acquired Fidelity Research FR24 tonearm to it. Are you still making these videos? I imagine very time consuming!👍💣💥🔊🎼🎵🎶👊😎🍕🍻
Is there any MC UNDER $1000 that would compare with MP150 or even the MP200. For example, how would Hana SL @$750.00 compare with either? Now THAT might be the ultimate eye opener!!!😜
Hi Ian, I have been enjoying my MP-110 and Schiit Mani combo, but now I tempted to spend more money! I hit the bell so I can be sure to keep up with you. Thanks again for all your hard work.
Buddy James! Thank you for coming back!!! Wow, enjoy your MP-110 and Mani!! Last night, i was listening to the MP-110 and Mani for an hour in the afternoon, and an hour last night with some musicmatters AAA jazz records before I sleep. Such great bliss!!!!! You are having it reeeally good too my friend!!!! Thank you for your time and kindness catching up! Happy to see you again! Warmest Regards to you and your family, ~ ian.
There he is!! I know I’m late😑I apologize.....but I’m here now Brother Ian hello to the family👋🏻.....I’m ready! ..........just another fantastic showing.... and the knowledge you lay out for us all is just wonderful... I’m hearing the difference on my iPad! With some of these sampling’s... Thanks my friend for taking the time to break this down for us...keeps our headaches to a minimum heehee😃👌🏻have a great week be well and safe- Lis
Thank you for your afford in testing and reporting about current vinyl equipment. Because of you I came to know Nagaoka. I also appreciate your direct line out samples in the latest videos. On thing I noticed is your lavalier microphone. It seems not to be recorded in the video. The sound is more like the built in camera mic. You can check this by blowing into the lavalier, when recording. By the way, I loved your journey to Japan. I was blown away by the variety of accessory like for example inner sleeves in just one shop.
The lavalier!....Ah okie brother I will check again :-D... thank you for your kind concern!!!! Thank you brother!!! The direct line out has to be done via an analogue-to-digital converter and I had bought the Schiit Jil 2 months ago for this purpose exactly. It works very well :-D!! See you buddy in Japan one day if fate allows!! :-D Enjoy your Nagoaka :-D i am a latecomer to this Nagaoka too.
Another great entry into your series of reviews my friend. Very, very well done. And I too am a very big fan of that little Schiit Amp. A great little workhorse. Hope all is well Ian.
Buddy :-D, I hope you have unboxed all your 3000+ vinyl records in your new home and hammers, nails are cleared up, dust has settled (vacuumed and wiped off) :-D and now you are playing them now in your new home sweet home!!!! really thank you for coming by and saying hi again. I value your time again....Thank you for your friendship. My best regards to your upcoming rsd2018 :-D... warmest regards to your family too!
This video makes me so happy, thank you, Ian. A. because I switched to an MP-150 last fall, b. because I've always believed that MM is not just "good enough" for most vinyl lovers but it can even be better sounding under the right circumstances and here's proof of that. Finally, c., because of your quote. ~ Josh
Dearest Brother Josh from Germany, with your superb SL1210, I am really happy to receive your kindness and support, words and thoughts always. You're a leader in your Facebook LP and Turntables group in your own community, and I am really honoured to know you, as a brother, and as a superb source of long term experience and knowledge. We catch up in Japan this year if our dates match up, mine should be around November....but i see if I can match yours Buddy Josh :-D Best Analogue Regards...hope it is warming up nicely in your home!! ~ ian
Dear Ian, ty so much for your kind (not really deserved) words. Yes, I am happy to confirm that the SL-1200/10 and the MP-150 are a very good match indeed (as was the Grado Gold I'd used before, which perhaps has a bit more bass but is lacking in the mid-range). As others have already suggested, I hope we will see the MP-150 having to defend its crown against the Ortofon's and others, such as the Denon 103. Someone wrote about the Mp-150 being regarded in-house as the line's sweet spot, it certainly is in terms of affordability. I remember when I bought mine at Yodobashi Camera in Osaka, peering at them under the glass counter, that the prices really take off with the 200/300 & 500! ... Re. meeting in Tokyo, I actually just got back from there and will be gliding in over NRT on Oct. 2nd for a whole month of Japan, taking in Kyushu as well. ... Always best wishes, Josh
Hello my Singapore friend. You hyped me again with your unbiased comparison. I consider to buy the Nagaoka MP-120 to replace the Grado Black but for the time being I enjoy the upgrade to the Shiit Mani that you proposed. Another thing that I discovered by reading the comments below is that Shiit wants to put out a turntable, the Sol!!! I am so excited ;-) Keep up you outstanding work of reviewing and editing and all best to you and your dearest.
I have a friend who uses the MP110 to post videos... I don't own it but I've heard it on lots of 45's and 12 inch singles from him. I didn't think it would stand up to an MC but I love the way it sounds... Interesting review. :)
Dear Brother Joe :-D!!! Enjoy your Orbit :-D!!!! Have a great time leading up to RSD2018 and may you catch up with many buddies in your local record stores! Warmest Regards my friend!
Hello my friend. Cheers to you and yours. Holy cow, what a surprise the Nagaoka MP-150 beats MC carts. I would be interested to see how the Hana and the Nagaoka would perform using the Schiit Mani. Fantastic review and even through my terrible built in laptop speakers you can hear the presence and detail of the Nagaoka over the Hana, incredible. This review is excellent because you are objective and thoroughly point out when the two carts match up as well as when the Nagaoka pulls aways. When I watched this review a second time using my DAC and Headphones the difference is even more pronounced. It's crazy how good the Nagaoka is and how it holds up to much higher priced competitors. Thanks again for all you do for our community.
Luis Sanchez Buddy Luis!!!! Happy to see you again! The EL is paired with the tremendous Pulsare2, while the MP-150 is paired with the Mani. The limiting factor is not the Pulsare2, coz it is able to liberate transcendental performance of the Dynavector xx2mk2. The HanaEL itself is the limiting factor. My friends and i now, think that the Hana is overhyped. It is not that mountain-moving nor industry-shattering. The press has been accepting Hana's or Hana's distributors' advertisement monies. When press accepts monies from manufacturer or retailers on their pages, things are never clear amymore. There ARE much better options from the competition which they would not mention. It is better for them to say good things about the product singularly, and help the manufacturer or retailer, "sell" the product. The press will not bite the hand that feeds them. Do know that the press does not need to sell the actual magazines on newsstands to earn money. The press survive and thrive on the huge advertisement monies. It is a cycle over there: "i scratch your back, you scratch mine". The consumers lose. We can right this. Power to us consumers👋👍😄👦👨👦👨👩👨👦👨💼👨🔧👨🔧👷♂️👳♂️👱♀️🙎♂️🌞🌞🌞👋✌!!
Great review as always, Ian! I'd love to see your review on Hana SL.... It will be interesting to see Hana SL vs Nagaoka MP-500. I think they are in the same price range.
Ian, I followed your recommendation to buy the MP-150’s little brother, the MP-110. I’m only 3 hours into the run-in and it’s starting to open up nicely. Playing an album I know like the back of my hand (Beatles White Album in Mono), I heard detail and things that I’ve never heard before. Truly impressed. Looking forward to finishing the 30 hour run-in and really hearing the difference. When it’s time for a new stylus, it looks like the MP-150 stylus will be a contender. True sonic bliss, buddy. Thank you for your honest and entertaining reviews!
Dear Buddy :-D good to see you again!..and great that you have installed it and really enjoying it now!! Hahaha...lovely! (Btw, the MP-100 and MP110 share bodies, the MP150 and MP200 share bodies, and the MP-300 and MP-500 share bodies. Thus to get the real MP-150 performance, one would need to purchase the MP-150 in whole first :-D, this is what experienced and long-term nagaoka users told me.) Thank you for your time again brother updating me! The Nag doesn't take long to run-in btw. See you again and Warmest Regards! ~ ian
HiViNyws channel Ian, I’m also a sucker for vintage components. My TT is a Pioneer PL-250 from 1980, I believe. I’m in the market for a vintage Pioneer receiver and have been looking at the SX-3700 model. Do you have any opinions on this receiver?
Ian, I’ll let you know when I get it and I’ll pass along some photos as well. The MP-110 is really singing now. Enjoying Eric Clapton’s “From The Cradle” currently.
These Nagaoka reviews have been very illuminating. I'm looking for a new phono cartridge to replace/upgrade my Denon DL-110, and I've been looking at several MC carts such as Denon's DL-103R, Hana's EL, Ortofon's 2M Quintet series and others. I wasn't expecting the Nagaoka MP-150/200 to compete so strongly against more expensive rivals. Very interesting. Now if we only had a video showing the MP-300 and MP-500, that would be perfect. On a related note, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the Denon 103R. Thanks again for all the excellent work, it's greatly appreciated!
Dearest Buddy :-D thank you so much for coming by and writing to me! Very honoured to have your very kind encouragement :-D! !!!!! Brother, thank you. I will work hard. Really touched to read your message for me, and the information that are both insightful and resourceful. Warmest Regards and all your points are taken, the DL-103R, the MP-300 and MP-500 :-D...i really thank you for your appreciation for the hard work i have been putting in for the past four years. See you again, anytime Buddy! ~ ian.
Thank you so much for all of your work on these reviews. My MP-110 is going on it's second stylus now but maybe when that is due for replacement I will upgrade to the MP-150, it is an amazing sounding cartridge for sure. Cheers!
Dear Buddy :-D, a fellow esteemed Nagaoka user has told me and other friends here, that: "The MP-100 and 110 share bodies, MP-150 and 200 share bodies, and lastly the MP-300 and 500 share bodies too." And thus this guy by the nickname of Leon thepro, as you may see in the other comments below, had reminded us that the MP-150 stylus is to be fitted onto the MP-150 body. Just fyi my friend, my brother, my buddy Wes!!! Warmest Regards Sir, and happy to see you again! ~ ian.
Brother Ian, thank you for another excellent review. Your reviews and video production continue to get better and better. Although I am not looking to upgrade from the Nagaoka MP-110, it was fun to watch you video and your in depth analysis of the Hana EL. Your choice of music is also excellent. Happy Lunar New Year to you and your family.
Dear Buddy Steven :-D yes, i continue to clock up many hours on the same Mani and MP-110 as you have!! Every day!!! Happy Lunar New Year to you and your family too :-D Thank you for your kindness.
You are the best my friend!!! Many thanks for Your valuable reviews, after this I am sure what cartrige is replacing my Ortofons 2MRed. Cheers, and good luck continuing like this!!!
Brother :-D be my guest, and help yourself to the information! Have a great RSD2018 in April! I can't wait to catch up with my friends too here locally at Record Stores! Warmest Regards Jonas!
I enjoy your videos VERY much. I love your enthusiasm and the method you use in comparing products. I own a MP-110 (Rega Planar 2 TT). Very happy with it and may updrade to the 150 or 200 soon.
Dear Buddy :-D thank you so much for catching up here as well besides with other friends here!! Yes, the Rega P2 is a very solid foundation to build your system, having a great smooth tonearm and a very quiet 24V motor, and good tight and smooth spindle bearing and housing. All critical points done very well. Matched to your Mani and MP110.... unbeatable for the price, and scaling up the performance ladder by leaps and bounds :-D!!!! SUPERB. Warmest Regards and may you enjoy a beautiful vinyl journey!!! :-D ....oooh... the mp150 and mp200........... ~ ian.
kurtzcol Dear Buddy🤗thank you for your kind time too coming by! Hope you have fun watching my humble sharing🌞 May you have a joyous vinyl journey with lots of buddies and friends! Warmest Regards Buddy! ~ ian.
Dear Buddy :-D i am working on it now.... have already started. Meanwhile, I will be picking up, buying a $1k turntable, a competitor to the Planar3 at the $1k turntable market :-D . I hope to pitch this extremely strong competitor to the Rega Planar3 and help the friends shopping at this price range. We must get to the truth. This strong competitor is extremely well designed, and I want to see if it matches to the Planar3 or better still, surpasses it and bring more competition and hence quality to us, consumers', our hard-earned monies. Will be working hard... Thank you my friend for your kind encouragement. See you :-D ~ ian.
Ian, I really love your videos! I was getting ready to buy the MP 150 for $260 when I chanced on an MP 200 for $312. After seeing your shootout between the 150 and 200 I think I'll spend the extra $52 for the MP 200.
Hehheh congratulations for realizing this superb buy💪😄✌!!!!! Gary, do take it easy and steady with the installation and alignment, and enjoy your beautiful analogue music thereafter!!!!! Have fun, have fun!!!!!!😄😄😄🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶
Really terrific review, Ian. I've been a Hana EH user for the last 2.5 yrs., but this got me scratching my head. With good headphones, even on my phone I can hear what you're talking about. Hmmm, I have an MP-20 here that needs a new stylus. It belongs to my friend, and I hardly remember what it sounds like. Maybe I should bring it back into the rotation. All the best Noam Bronstein (Canada)
Brother Noam👋😄!!! Yes it's no harm bringing it back *ongroove* 😁🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶!!! Give it a try, maybe they will be super!! It is great that you've listened to them closely via headphones/earphones m!! Warmest regards and may you wake a up to a lovely Sunday!
Thanks Ian. I'm somewhat familiar with the Naga sound, I had an MP-11 years ago that did well getting me through some lean times when it was hard to afford this hobby. And a couple yrs ago I was lucky to be able to review the MP-500 on my website (wallofsound.ca, I really liked that cart. I need to go back to a detachable headshell..playing with carts is great fun. Again, thanks for your hard work producing these excellent reviews!! 👍😎 I enjoy them & subscribed. I also shared this one on Facebook.
Excellent series of reviews! So I guess the next step is to compare the MP-150 to the 200, 300 and even the 500 to see where the value lies as you move up the levels of the Nagaoka family. Also I would love to hear how the Hana SL compares to the MP-150 and higher cost Nagaoka cartridges. I wonder if the Nagaoka family of MMs are perhaps the best value for money at all levels? Keep up the great work, excellent and informative channel that is obviously not too biased (as many reviews can be).
Dear Mike :-D ! Thank you for your kindness and time. I endeavour to do my diligent careful best for the community. I do have the MP-200 and MP-500, 2M Bronze and 2M Black as well... and yes! you are right :-D, the Hana SL vs the higher range Nagaoka carts! What a comparison that will be! Nagaokas are strictly not MM, but MP, Moving Permalloy... I am suspecting that such Permalloys are super light and strong magnets that endow it with great agility like MCs with light cantilevers (only having coils) but with the colours, dynamics and weight (signal strengths) of traditional MMs. Warmest Regards too to you and your vinyl playing buddies, and happy Lunar NewYear :-D...
Dear Buddy! Thank you for catching up yet again :-D... thank you for your time and kindness and friendship. See you in great spirits again and yes, happy Record Store Day.. very soon!
Hi Ian, as always an honest and great test on cartridges !! As you said before, the MM has evolved a lot in those years and it seems that it does not justify more or not so much, the MC. But these tests end up getting expensive! Congratulations.
Brother Mike👋😄, you are very welcomed. Thank you for your kind words and support for my efforts...I appreciate your time writing to me too! Warmest Regards my friend 🤗🎶🎵🎶🎶
Hey Ian! You already gave a hint what was coming. Amazing performance by the MP150. Really surprised by the result. Hahah, always trust your ears and Ian reviews :) Take care and all the best. /Paul
Hope to chat with you again over the phone Buddy :-D.... thank you for trusting my reviews. :-D I am bewildered that the 150 didn't just hold its own, but supercede the Hana MC EL in performance!! Shocking to me too when I do the actual A-B. I knew how good the 150 is, but just didn't know the truth until a true A-B is done....the actual results are really amazing, but plainly true. Looking forward to your next video buddy!!! Keep up the good work!! Enjoy your technics G!!!
Hi Ian, your review keep getting better. Thanks again for a great review and the nice choice of music. Hope the Nagaoka guy won’t increase their price.
C. Sari Thank you Brudder Sari from Penang 👋😄!!! I owe it all to you friends support and patience. So, thank you all instead. We will all win! Vinyl rocks on strongly!!! Lol....me too...anf i hope perhaps in GroupE and GroupF, hopefully either Goldring, Grado or Ortofon wrestle the top performance cart away from Nagaoka and hence Nagaoka won't increase their prices😄😄😄✌✌✌ see you Buddy Sari..thank you for always coming by!
Hello Ian. Thanks to you, I have discovered how good the Nagaoka MP carts are. My MP-200 sounds awesome. I recently found a Beethoven Violin Concerto on vinyl in the bargain rack in pristine condition. Man it sounds great! Cheers!
Hehheh Brother👋😄👌!!!!!!! Great GREAT!!!!! I am very happy for you!!!😄🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶 Now just enjoy!....after many many hours I am onto my second MP200 stylus! Addictive!
As an accountant by training, the cost benefit analysis is always very important to me. I would love to see you compare the MP-150 to your Dynavector. I am looking to upgrade my cartridge but I'm afraid that I can spend triple and not be able to hear the difference. Your previous Avid and your current pulsare II are no longer available ?. Thank you for all of the hard work done for us viewer's.
Back in the 60's, my late Dad taught me a bit about the "point of diminishing returns". Also, it's amazing how many things in life conform to the Bell Curve we were taught in Jr. High. This is comparison is no exception. Somewhere reading about the Nagaoka line, I came a across the rumor that a lot of folks at the Naggy factory consider the MP-150 to be the sweet spot of their line.
Dear Ian, many thanks for sharing another superb video with the end result as predicted in the earlier one😉 I just hope that Nagaoka do not become so popular that they start increasing their prices! Looking forward to the next video already. Cheers & Happy New Year to you & your family 😊
Unfortunately Nagaoka has jacked up prices considerably. I was contemplating getting an MP 200 but now prices are well into the mid to upper $400 plus range.
Ian, again such a great and instructive review. The difference in bass, separation, and transients is really astonishing. I never thought the Nagaoka MP-150 would perform that well. I think at some point I'll upgrade my MP-110 to the 150. But not before I get better speakers. Again, thank you for your time and effort. I'm learning a lot!
Fantastic review Ian, may favorite so far, and very well time. I will be in the market for a new cartridge in the next couple of months and had budgeted $500, but I think this video shows that the MP-150 may be the right choice for me.
Hi Ian! This is George white, I changed my channel name! Very interesting video as usual! I wish more people were enthusiast about hi-fi as you are my friend! Well done! The "EL" sounds a little brighter on the "less dynamic" recordings! The "MP-150" blew the "EL" away in my opinion!
Brother, thank you for coming by and saying hi again!!! Yes, if it is over your two speaker stereo, the results and effects are even much more astounding. Digitization of analog content for comparisons are not accurate, and RUclips's compression rips away even more truthful effects. 👋😄but we have no choice here. Just take it as a honest review with Visual and Audio accompaniments 😄🎶🎶🎥!! The MP-150 sounds much, much better than the HanaEL in real, live! Hahaha...sorry too enthusiastic. But really, happy to know that cheaper gear PERFORM BETTER!!!! WARMEST REGARDS BUDDY! See you and have a great RSD2018 in April!
Brasswinds hehe... ;-) ... But, never mind. This is another Example for a sophisticated Review, and the Community must be glad that You do this Work for us! Thumbs up Vinylkamisama ^^ So, we saw and heard, that this MC System only is named "Flower", but does not match exactly the Challenge...
Yes Brother😅I am sorry...I have recently realized my oversight and changed it to "jazz"... Saxophone is classified as a woodwind instrument😅....my mistake. Brother we March on together with simple analogue joy😄👍🎶🎵🎶!!!!! Thank you so much for your time again...coming by and writing to me! Merry Christmas and a Peaceful and Joyous 2019 to you and your family🎈🎊🎄🎄🎅🎁🎁🎄🎁❄⛄❄❄🎶🎵🎶🎶
@@HiViNywschannel Merry Xmas to you, your Better Halve and Mokochan. And, don`t bother about "brasswinds" too much ^^. Not many people who are no musicians (like me) are aware that a Sax is determined as Woodwind due to the little wooden reed in the mouthpiece. Despite of this, the Rest of the 600 Parts of a Sax are made of Metal lol... (so, If this is not misleading, i don`t know ;-) ) But, back to the NAgaoka Cardride: This Cardridge also has its dark sides. For example, last week i got myselve a new pressing of "the dark side of the moon", and i must say, the Nagaoka immideatly revealed that the pressing is dull and lacks in Dynamics. 😅. But, when i play my lately bought Miles Davis "Blue in Green" or my Nils Lofgren "Acoustic" (lol, what else ), i am happy that i followed your Conclusion about this component... Again, a peaceful Xmas, and a successful 2019 with the best health for you and your family!
@@bernhardmichaelfux308 Hehheh and yes Brother Bernhard🤗!!! Yes if the pressing is poorly done and dull, the MP-200 will be faithful and reproduce whatever is coming in at the cutting lathe✌😄!! Yes the latest DSOTM pressing is indeed dull. Nothing like the A2B3 I have heard and Doug Sax's 2003 versions (my friend's)💪😄👍🎶🎵🎶!! Thank you for deciphering for me that one part out of 600 that is wood!!! Thank you my friend!! Happy 2019🎈🍹🍾
Hey Ian, hope you are ok? We miss your videos. Would love to see you back as you are the best reviewer on you tube. Have you heard the new Schitt Mani 2?. Hope to see you post reviews again soon.
Dearest Brother Michail, Thank you so much for your kindest encouragement for my family and i. We are very touched. Thank you. Big Brother Michail, it would be nice to look at all that you have collected and stories of those records, garnered over your 40+ years of vinyl analogue appreciation. Perhaps one day we can catch up in person, or, I can see you on your RUclips episodes. The VC must be very keen and energized to see such a knowledgable guy appear :-D

@@HiViNywschannel Dear Ian and family, I can recommend (if you already don't know of) a couple of new releases I've heard lately which deserve attention, digitally or vinily and can give you very good sound and joyful experience: 1. MANU KATCHÉ- Manu Katché, 2. CHRIS SPHEERIS & ANTONY MAZZELA - Brio, CHICK COREA & STEVE GADD - Chinese Buterfly. Have a good time and sound
ive always rated Nagaoka products ,the blessed Ian has prooved me right again, another honest objective video my last head to head HanaEL versus Audio Technica Atf2,yes at’s cheapest moving coil winnerATF2 by amile!
It is crazy. Wife and I listening to it yesterday evening for 1.5hrs, repeating some sides coz the music emanating is 9f amazing poise and beauty. Enjoy it. Superb. A treasure. Thank you for coming by and chatting up with me!😄 May you and your family be well and happy 💪🏡🍀🎶🎶🎶
Wow really impressed with the MP-150. Great video it was most helpful. MP-150 is a killer bang for the buck cart. Was looking at the Hana EL but that MP-150 sounds way better and much less expensive. Thanks for the info.
lexiconthx1 Brother, thank you🤗!!! It hurts me in a way because i myself was hoping to have in my arsenal, as many great carts, great performing equipment i can recommend, as these, i had bought them with my own money😄💵!! After listening to the Ort Q Blue and Hana EL, and easily discerning the winner (the Hana), i am pretty sure i have heard better with the MP-150. I went back to the MP-150 and did the ABs and easily it is discernible and by a pretty wide margin: that green lego cart won, and at a much, much lower cost. As with the Hana EL, i have no choice but to feel as if: 💸😅💸💸💸!... But i feel great as this is my commitment always to all of you friends: discern the super value ones and cut through all the marketing hype and paid reviews (obligations due to manufacturers and retailers paying advertisement fees on audio pages). People power. We are confident in ourselves and our own friends. We do know better than the paid press. And i am sure you have young ears!!!! Warmest Regards Buddy ✌😄✌. We are winning and enjoying ever better vinyl analogue music!!!!!! Blissfully!
First off have to say I really appreciate what you do. Been watching lots of your videos as I'm looking to upgrade from the Ortofon DJ-s Cart on my Technics 1200 M3d. That cart is great for what I bought it for back in the day (back cuing etc) but sound quality leaves lots to be desired. Listened to lots of A/B comparisons of the Hana EL against the Ortofon MC series, Against a few versions of the Denon 103 and it always seemed to come out on top. Stereofile raved about the cart as well so was pretty sure I would end up with this cart. Of course I would also need to buy a new preamp as the one in my Marantz only works for MM carts and not MC. However after listening you your unbiased review I will be looking at the MP-150 or the MP-200. Love your passion for the Hobby. Looking forward to watching more of your future videos!! Now the big decision for me is will I go Mp-150 or Mp-200 :)
lexiconthx1 Yo Buddy 💪💪💪💪💪yeaaaaaaayyy😄😄😄!!! I read with much intent and interest what your experiences and thoughts have been!..and indeed i am on the same page as you!.. but now we have all come to a wise realization at the end. A very, very bright one for all of us💪😄💪✌✌😄✌✌✌🌞🌞🌞🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶
Finally waiting for mc carts is over :) I can't wait for every next episode. The best content on RUclips. Is nagaoka mp-500 better than mp-150 ? I know both are MM but I'm just wondering if it's worth spend extra £€£€
Yes buddy, the MP-500 on initial impressions, is crazily good. Definitely better than the MP-150. But of course more costly. I really love both 110 and 150 though... really, really love them. My favourite carts to listen to records now, and of course the Grado Red, Green, and Goldring 1006 :-D
Great video Ian, really shows that more money certainly doesn't mean a better sound. Those Nagaoka cartridges sound crazily good! I'd love to see how an MP500 fairs against some serious MC cartridges! Hope you are well my friend :)
Steve P Hi Brother! How do you do? ....exactly!!👋😄 i too, am very eager to find out how the MP500 compares with some MC carts!!! Goodness... i want to find that out and report to you friends as early as possible too. Thank you Buddy. Yes more expensive gear can be hyped up amd older cheaper gear that don't advertise can be better very often. Clearly!!💪😄 All the best Buddy. Thanks for your time!
The EL vocals are cleaner and more transparent to me @11:00. They fell more alive. Even the sax feels more alive than the MP150. Yeah I heard the bass extension of the MP150. It's better but I think the trade off is the mid where the EL is better. The 150 bass extends into all frequencies there by making it a slightly warmer cartridge than the EL.
Amazing how the Nagaoka family punches above their weight! My MP-110 is coming due for a new stylus, and I can't stop looking at the 150 as an upgrade instead... This review might be enough to push me over the edge!
Dear Buddy, enjoy your MP-110 and Mani!! I was listening with my MP-110 and Mani to my musicmatters AAA jazz records for 2hours yesterday in in musical bliss.... thank you for coming back and catching up yet again :-D. See you soon!!
My current set up is as follows:
Amplifier Yamaha AS1100
Tone Arm SME 3009 Non Improved
Garrard 401 Turntable
Schiit Mani Phono Pre Amp
Speakers Tannoy Revolution Xt 6f Floor Standing Speakers
I also purchased the Schiit Mani on your recommendation and again your were spot on.
Best Regards,
🤗ian

We need to support this channel. You have so much love for what you do it’s contagious. Thank you 🙏
Yeah Ian's a treasure and every time I dig through the comment section I see all kinds of people who's videos I like.
I replaced it with a much cheaper 'XXXXXXX' MM cartridge as I had a very limited budget
Guess what?

Ian! Where are you? We need you to return.
Hi,
I had just been contemplating upgrade to an MC and read many online articles supporting the MP-150 in their comments.
Hi Ian,
GXFC!
Thanks for your relentless no-holds-barred reviews and recommendation, I am currently enjoying the fruits of your hard work.
I am again, humbled by your friendship and efforts to write to me again,
Happy Lunar New Year of the Dog to you and your lovely family and vinyl buddies around you,
we catch up anytime.
All nagaoaka are great I have the mp500.
Ian,like always a great pleasure to see your reviews. Thank you for your time and effort
Thanks Ian! I think this makes your reviews even better.
Thanks Brother :-D !! Happy Friday tomorrow :-D and a nice weekend.
Every so often I go back to watch your videos to recreate myself with the music and your comments. I just hope that when this is over you can continue your work and continue to guide us through Hi-Fi.
You are the hardest working man on you tube. Takes love to devote such attention.
Presentation well thought out.
Just purchased the 150H.
:)
paul dow Buddy, thank you🤗!
Thanks again,
Dear Buddy :-D please enjoy your vinyl record listening!!!! You must be on cloud nine :-D...good good, good for you!

We need more of your reviews man. You're creating remarkable reviews. Greetings from Ukraine!

One of the most helpful channels here, thanks a lot from germany!
Dear Buddy!...Guten Tag!!! 🇩🇪and thank you for your coming by!!!!and encouragement!!! See you anytime, soon Buddy!!!!👋😄💪💪💪
Hehheh!!!

Still the truth!
The difference was clear as day! Thanks to you. Your channel is simply the best!
Dear Sir, thank you yet again for catching up here. Thank you for your kind time and encouragement :-D
I will continue to work hard and diligently to serve the useful information for all of you dearest buddies and friends.
Best Regards, ~ ian.
Haha, love you bro! You're a true friend. May I suggest you do a review of the Lounge LCR mkiii phonoe preamp? www.loungeaudio.com/lcr-mr-iii
zRouth I had already done it 2 years ago👋😄 thank you for suggesting. Have a good weekend Buddy!
Oh man, I wonder if you got a bad unit? Everyone else simply loves that thing. You have a wonderful weekend as well my friend! Cheers.
Love,
~ ian.
🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
Thank you Vic....for coming to lend your strongest support and friendship🤗🙏🎶
😄and yes, you are right, the Mani is not so good with low output MC carts.
Warmest Regards to you and your family,
~ ian.
AWESOME VIDEO!!!! THE MP-150 MAKES MY EAR'S HAPPY. ONCE AGAIN AWESOME VIDEO!!!
Thank you Buddy Dale :-D!! Happy times!!!!!!!!!
Wow.... Awesome video. This is the best kind of review video. Nice rig. Cheers from Arizona USA 🇺🇸
I am so excited ;-)
Keep up you outstanding work of reviewing and editing and all best to you and your dearest.
I Ian your reviews are excellent! Very in depth and informative great work
As usual another great comparison by Ian
Do you have any opinions on this receiver?
ghaasl78 Ahhhh.....the Pioneer SX3700!!! Please get it! My legs go soft when i see it🎛🎛🎛. Awwwww..... please! Get it and let me know you have it!!!
Ian, I’ll let you know when I get it and I’ll pass along some photos as well. The MP-110 is really singing now. Enjoying Eric Clapton’s “From The Cradle” currently.
ghaasl78 wow!...brother...enjoy your records on a nice Saturday 💪😄
Eyes opener, as always. Your tests are invaluable to VC. Thank you Sir !
~ ian.
thanks for all your hard work i appreciate it immensely
kurtzcol Dear Buddy🤗thank you for your kind time too coming by! Hope you have fun watching my humble sharing🌞
May you have a joyous vinyl journey with lots of buddies and friends! Warmest Regards Buddy!
~ ian.
i would be very interested to hear a head to head comparison between the mp 150 and the mp 200
See you :-D
~ ian.
thats awesome, the best of the two is going to be my new cartridge thanks again
All the best
Noam Bronstein
(Canada)
As always, you've done a great review. Thanks.
Brother Alvaro!!! Thank you! Hope you are doing well with all your local buddies! Is your trip to Japan in May 2018 confirmed :-D?
Love your shot out videos. They helped me decide what cartridge to buy.
Brother Mike👋😄, you are very welcomed. Thank you for your kind words and support for my efforts...I appreciate your time writing to me too!
Warmest Regards my friend 🤗🎶🎵🎶🎶
Ian, another brilliant review. Can’t wait to watch your review for the Nagaoka MP200.
A honest review as always, well done bro.
Thank you Buddy!!! Power to you too!!! Let's rock one with more vinyl magic!!!! :-D What bliss!!!.... See you brother!!!
Man you have so much knowledge. Your way beyond anyone I know when it comes to reviews. I have to watch it over and over just to write notes.
Brother, great to see you again and great to see you active on your channel too!! Way to go, INTRO and more!!! Excited :-D
Hi Ian. I've watched all your videos and I'm waiting for more!!
Thank you for all your hard work! I have learned so much
I am very happy for you!!!😄🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶
Now just enjoy!....after many many hours I am onto my second MP200 stylus! Addictive!
the Nagaoka steals the show completely! Once again great comparison, thanks a lot!
Nagaoka still kicking ass, Ian :)
This is the kind of info we need. The audiophile world has become a swamp nearly as big as that in Washington D.C.
Thank you very much, Ian. Every dollar that we don't spend in a cartridge we can spend it in vinyl!
YES!!!!!!
Thank you Buddy for catching up again :-D , hope you've had a great weekend!
@@ultron9 Just as I had predicted then :(
Ian, again such a great and instructive review.
Get the MP-200. It's currently $370 on Amazon and sounds better in every respect.
Ian, very good review! Better than the previous ones. Thankyou
Great to see you again Brother! I hope you are doing well!
Thank you for your kind time to catch up. Best Regards!!! Happy RSD2018 :-D
Great video thanks very in-depth review was going to get the MP -110 but this review made me choose the MP-150.
Thank you Buddy :-D the MP-150 is THAT GOOD!!! GREEEAATTTT!!!!! Well done and congratulations!!! Join in the fun!!!!!:-D
HiViNyws channel oh I love your enthusiasm! Yes, it's hard to decipher proper analog sound, especially on RUclips! Thank you friend!
Amazing content. Thank you so much for these shoot outs!!!
Buddy!👋😄thank you too!!!!
Glad you finally put a microphone on. Should have done that years ago.
Thank you Brother :-D everything is clearer now. Thanks for you friends' feedback. Thank you! Warmest Regards! Have a great RSD2018!
Thank you for being so amazing :) Greetings from Bulgaria.
Brother, thank you!
Let's enjoy our common analogue bliss💪😄
Warmest Regards to you and your family and vinyl'ing friends in 🇧🇬🤗🤗🤗🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🌈
Brasswinds hehe... ;-) ... But, never mind. This is another Example for a sophisticated Review, and the Community must be glad that You do this Work for us! Thumbs up Vinylkamisama ^^
So, we saw and heard, that this MC System only is named "Flower", but does not match exactly the Challenge...
(so, If this is not misleading, i don`t know ;-) )
But, back to the NAgaoka Cardride: This Cardridge also has its dark sides.
Excellent work - I appreciate your time and effort. I am definitely better informed by it.
MP150 sounds amazing, Thanks Ian, you are The Best
Dearest Brother Michail,
Thank you so much for your kindest encouragement for my family and i.
Hi Brother Ted!!! Great to see you again! Any chance you would be going to Japan this year? :-D . See if our dates coincide and yes we meet!!!
Lovely review. The MP150 seems to give amazing value!
It is crazy. Wife and I listening to it yesterday evening for 1.5hrs, repeating some sides coz the music emanating is 9f amazing poise and beauty.
Enjoy it. Superb. A treasure.
Thank you for coming by and chatting up with me!😄
May you and your family be well and happy 💪🏡🍀🎶🎶🎶
Clearly!!💪😄
All the best Buddy. Thanks for your time!
@@HiViNywschannel My friend has the MP500 and it lives up to the hype!
This review might be enough to push me over the edge!
great video,a real eye opener, keep it up ian
Dear Buddy, enjoy your MP-110 and Mani!! I was listening with my MP-110 and Mani to my musicmatters AAA jazz records for 2hours yesterday in in musical bliss.... thank you for coming back and catching up yet again :-D. See you soon!!
i gave up on the mani,as it was constantly out of stock,so went with a bel canto phono stage i got a good deal on :)
WOW :-D expensive!!! but if you have gotten a good deal on it....then, congrats!
Six years later and nobody comes close to Ian's ability to demonstrate the differences.
Excellent video. Great review.
Thank you again Buddy! Enjoy your vinyl analogue journey!!!
Warmest Regards :-D
