I know a lot of people want the listener to die so he regrets but I think it will be more painful if the reader isn't dead but chooses to not be with him for their own well-being. With that said, I really want a part 3
I went to looked up the sequel scripts to this because I was so on the edge of my seat. Esme Jones actually wrote two scripts for part 3; a good end and a bad end. The good end is where you wake up from a coma because you took three shots, particularly one to the spine. You flatlined twice and you’re gonna have to relearn how to walk. Your ex is there and he apologises and says you were right about everything and how he just wanted to trust his friends. One of them shifted the blame of a bad deal onto him and that’s why he was getting shot at that night. He’s obviously gonna cut ties with them after this and begs for a second chance to be better. You both still love each other so it’s pretty hopeful. The bad end is where the listener died on the way to the hospital. Your ex starts up a program to rehabilitate people like him. Years have passed. He’s an old man giving a speech over your grave about his regrets and how much he learnt from them. After he’s done, he sits down and feels his time edging near. He can feel your spirit nearby as he talks to you before passing on. His spirits leaves his body and he’s finally reunited with you and vows to treat you right this time, whether it be in heaven or hell.
