Good to see knowledgeable fans knowing that in the end it is a business. Some guys leave on bad terms and fans boo them but this is far from the case. Stanton is loved in Miami and it's good to see him get the standing ovation.
I was attendence for this game whilst on vacation from the UK, raucous atmosphere in the stadium, great game, Stantons line drive double was hit unbelievably hard.
No need to bash on the Marlins fans man. You don’t know the hard times here in Miami. Lots of shady stuff involving this franchise despite their two World Series titles. Marlins Park was built using tax players money, the front office always gets rid of players aka fire sale, they even did that when the Marlins won the World Series twice. Those are reasons why the fans refused to show up because they don’t trust the front office. Hopefully Jeter fix that shit. Excuse my language.
GS looked good in his return to MIA 2 hits not bad and the crowd gave him the respect he deserves. he did a lot for them when he was here he was their franchise player until new ownership decided to move him. i'm glad he's a Yankee he's playing in seasons where there is something to play for every year.
Marlins tend to create some great players that take the team no where, its weird. You would think great players = playoff team, but in the Marlins case that does not happen, I think the Marlins put way too much focus in their hitters and completely forgot that pitching is just as important. The problem with the Marlins is that since 2003 they have not had a strong well rounded team, its either been great pitching and weak hitting, or weak pitching and strong hitting. They have yet to find a balnce between the two
It's because Fernandez passed away. This team was going places, getting better and better. Then when Jose Fernandez died it was like the team lost the will to fight. He was their Ace. Without an ace you are going no where.
LETS TALK ABOUT IT same with the Seattle Mariners, they had some greats, Griffey, ARod, Big Unit, and then had other guys like Adam Jones and others who became great on other teams after being traded. at least marlins have won some World Series. I don’t know who they traded him for but it was crazy to trade the mvp and someone who had been there 8yrs. The other trades were questionable too but I don’t follow which prospects are good or not maybe they will end up being good trades.
Iv also been a Marlins fan for some time, since 1995, and its becoming more and more difficult to be a Marlins fan. But I guess you stick with yoru team no matter what. As what the YT commentor David Garden said and I agree, the Jose fernadez death sure didnt help, put the Marlins back big time
LETS TALK ABOUT IT i think in that 2016 season, before he died, they were putting the final touches to THEIR team. I believe if jose didnt die, that 2017 would have been a playoff club, and Loria wouldnt have sold the team. But after he died, that sense of optimism and will to win died with him, and Loria bailed. However, i think Jeter is putting the club in the right direction. These new guys have a lot of promise, and they have been kinda fun to watch this year. Our farm system continues to improve, and i do expect the Marlins to an above .500 team, or even play off contending, by 2020 or 2021
I’m surprised anyone thought he might get boo’d, he didn’t demand a trade did he? Or do Miami fans have a bad reputation as booing anyone not on their team? Jeter is the one who traded the reigning mvp and someone who could have ended up as a marlin in the hall of fame. It’s funny he traded mvp to his former team for only prospects. I heard something about jeter getting a bonus if they saved some money or something, idk if that’s true but that would be crazy especially after they got taxpayers to pay for new ballpark. If I was a baseball player or anyone I’d much rather live in Miami than New York and any other place that gets really cold, I wonder if he lives in Miami in offseason. I’m sure he loves playing for the Yankees since he will have a chance to play in postseason, that’s good everyone likes seeing the best players in the playoffs.
I live in Miami and trust me, Miami is a wonderful city to live in, only negative part about it is the humidity. Plus the Marlins never had a good GM in their franchise history, despite winning two World Series, the office give away the Marlins best players for cash or whatnot and it piss many fans off, hence the reason why fans refuse to show up to games, plus Marlins Park was built using tax players money which is shady.
I'm gonna keep posting this everywhere I can. his stance has changed over the years obviously. the closed stance is fine, but early to mid season to now, he is straight as an arrow. like he wants to show his full 6'6 height. earlier in the year he was slightly bent, but most importantly that front leg was bent. he did so much more damage like that. he's in a bad slump and I honestly feel that leg has something to do with it. this guy can hit over 60 home runs a season but he's standing like a wooden indian

Nice to See you get a Standing Ovation in Your return to Miami Stanton also Keep going Yankees.
Metra BNSF Rails probably mostly Yankees fans.
Wasnt his fault he left, he didn’t want to leave so yea he did a lot for us

The biggest crowd in Marlins Park all year.
Jnn575 so true
And yet half of them are Yankee fans

Trust me, I know the woes plaguing the franchise. Still doesn't make the statement any less true or sad.
Stanton didn't ask to be traded. He was a good dude and great teammate. That's why we loved him.
The team was bought by Derek Jeter and he wanted his team the Yankees to win a world series, that's why he traded the league's MVP to them.
Much respect to Stanton go Yankees
still breaks my heart seeing this and all the success him, Yelich, Realmuto, Ozuna, Dietrich, etc are all having.... Thanks Jeter.
Still think the same, Ozuna jail, Dietrich PED, Yelich chronic back injuries. Only JT and he didn't want to be here

What a class act Stanton is.
He returns back as a yankee and people still cheer him. He goes 0-5 in yankee stadium fans boo him. Stay classy new york
kihlos Miami fans loved him
well they still do
To bad he’ll never return to Miami cry about it
Of course yankee fans would want to express their displeasure, wouldn’t you want to? We boo Greg Bird now, our reactions are justified.
when you pay a guy 25 times more money then aaron judge and he fails to produce anything and strikes out 5 times In a game .....i think u can boo him
Marlins Legend!
The face of the franchise was José Fernández...
Gre J 35 if he was alive he’d probably be traded

LETS TALK ABOUT IT as a Marlins fan since 2003, what you said is absolutely true.

Sports is just business but its still nice to see the South Florida fans have some love for their guy.
That second hit was a bullet
Unlike Cano. Stanton didn't want to leave but there's a business side to Baseball.
*leadoff* single? Isn’t there an out?
Stanton is hot right now
I was there. 👌👏😂
I’m not gonna lie I don’t think that’s how I imagine Stanton sounding at the beginning
His eyebrows are mad interesting
Samuel A
Why don’t you put his eye brows on your home screen and make out with it?
Samuelillo
there probably gonna get to the playoffs because of stanton
Stanton just adds certainty that they will. The Yankees could make it without him but it would not be as easy.
#1 (Florida/Miami) Marlins Franchise Player @ 35.2 WAR

Stanton threw a ball at me in right field and some drunk guy blocked it and he’s my favorite player
Mickey, Willie and the Duke
What does that have to do with this?
classy fans
Love the sharks brother. Great looking logo and a great franchise
