To anyone complaining, circuses were a popular form of entertainment throughout the 19th century and fits well into Hunt's late 19th century setting. Have a popular singer like Post Malone host a traveling circus is a great way to have a tie in, and still fit within Hunt's aesthetic and themes. I'm looking forward to what looks like a fun and unique event in Hunt: Showdown

I looked further into it as i already expected this but yes. 1896 or the late 19th century was the most popular era for the american style circus (like the james bailey and hutchinson circus). So a hunt themed circus...actually 100% fits the era and narrative of this game. The late 19th century also saw the dominance of the ringmaster (post malone in this trailer) and the more second role of the clowns wich is also historically accurate. Ofcourse there is nothing realistic about the game.. but period correct? 100%

This is honestly the best crossover in a video game ive ever seen, usually games just throw in the celebrity or brand without any reasoning and its super jarring, but this actually makes sense
First event in a good while that has me hyped! Loving the weird buzz saw crossbow, weird weapons like that are coolest to me cause it feels like something from the HUNT universe itself.

According to the steam announcement, Post Malone is a Hunt fan, so it isn't really a corporate greed situation, meaning, while this could be the stone to head them down that path, this isn't necessarily the start of the same trend large online games have gone down (Rainbow Six: Siege, Fortnite, etc.) and, from my perspective, is really all around positive as long as it's good edit: sorry if I sound a bit like a downer edit 2: I realize that what I said about this not being part of the online game trend of collaborations is wrong, thanks to the correction from taargustaargus, but it does stay relatively on theme with hunt either way, unlike with the example games I gave

These circus themes, adding more “character” to the models, music has added more depth to the game. But personally I feel like it has lightened the grim tone from the original concept. Giving the character dialogue has lost the charm of how cold the world was in those dark times. This game used to give off a presence that its “hardcore” and punishing. Just a veteran speaking his thoughts. Its great to see the game get developed to where it is but I feel that it may lose its charm to the casual audience.
I really like this concept, a roving circus fits. Post Malone, as much as people dislike it, is probably the best celeb to link the game with. He likes the game and is a nice guy. I usually finish everything then take a break until the next event only hopping on occasionally to play some meme loadouts. If they had no events I’d still play, just wouldn’t take breaks and would be more spread out

Those early 19th century traveling circuses often had a pretty eerie and sordid underbelly to them. Unscrupulous ringmasters who saw deformed or disabled people and paraded them around, runaway children, acts that were often just as hazardous to the audience as they were the entertainers, the sorts. It's not a stretch to believe that in Hunt's universe, a particularly deranged circus man saw the madness that had engulfed Louisiana and Colorado, and got stars in his eyes.
This looks fantastic, I love the stage presence and the level of polish we seeing. The new variants and weapons and skins look top notch. Keep it going
It's funny because the main issue of hunt isn't the events or random updates. It's everything else. Having a clown based event isn't an issue but the bugs, trades, broken servers and the god forsaken menu U.I is by far more important to solve than adding events.

Now Crytek just has to fix their bugs, bring back the other maps and I am game, but until then I am not getting another battle pass or get pulled into yet another event that just introduces new game breaking bugs.
I know many said it with Ghost Face and it was the most succesful DLC and honestly I kind of got used to him. And I think before we have seen it ingame it is to early to judge, but I am very criticaly looking to the direction Hunt takes, I play since the beta and missing the old, slow, tactical Cowboy Horror Game. Nower Days it's getting freaked out and cartoon styled, I don't know 😢

at 1:06 did you notice the bullets in hand? in the interview for post they showed this suggested trait, now we see it in the trailer so it's confirmed now.
@@Happy_Sailor639 Yes it's for single shot rifles, it works by holding the reload key allowing for extra bullets to be held in the other hand for speed loading, I know it works for springy and it seems to work with the sparks in the video.

Now Crytek just has to fix their bugs, bring back the other maps and I am game, but until then I am not getting another battle pass or get pulled into yet another event that just introduces new game breaking bugs.
This is one of my favorite event themes ever, and I think Malone really fits the theme and delivers the role
I know many said it with Ghost Face and it was the most succesful DLC and honestly I kind of got used to him.
And I think before we have seen it ingame it is to early to judge, but I am very criticaly looking to the direction Hunt takes, I play since the beta and missing the old, slow, tactical Cowboy Horror Game.
Nower Days it's getting freaked out and cartoon styled, I don't know 😢
It's a setting with monsters and magic, so I'm cool with the more outlandish stuff. Especially since all of this fits the time period.

Cryteks strong side sure aint talking face animations for celebs. Super glad that they fuckin finally put the crosshair in the middle tho, a little late, but good job in the end!
Looks pretty good to me, I will see how the finger speed trait goes and the crossbow ima hold my opinions on them for now.

at 1:06 did you notice the bullets in hand? in the interview for post they showed this suggested trait, now we see it in the trailer so it's confirmed now.

@@Happy_Sailor639 basically. Holding several rounds between your fingers so they are quickly at hand
@@Happy_Sailor639 Yes it's for single shot rifles, it works by holding the reload key allowing for extra bullets to be held in the other hand for speed loading, I know it works for springy and it seems to work with the sparks in the video.
Even though I don't know anything about Post Malone and I don't like the path the cosmetics are going down to, I absolutely loved this trailer ngl. And considering the Circus was a common attraction back in those times, yeah, I'll trust crytek on this one
