Damn it you cut my eyes out with that one.. I'm afraid that Dutch saying didn't translate very well, but you named one of the best ways one can spend a 4/20 evening at
I am not the type of guy that listens death metal a lot, I mostly listen to hardcore. Pycroptic is the only death band I listen to almost every single day. There is something about their groove that I can find in hardcore as well, I am not saying that they sound like hardcore but it is almost like they are making death metal songs with a hardcore attitude.
PERFECT time to check for new Psycroptic. Intro reminds me of Vacuity by Gojira, video is great too. Amazing to see how far you guys have come, I remember when you lived not too far from me back in Tassie :3
So is Mozart's grave just symbolic? I mean, they lost his body. No one knows where he was buried, I thought. He didn't have enough money for a real gravesite.
TFW Psycroptic introduces you to John Farnham, the first song you hear is "That's Freedom," and then you realize Australia is ground zero for marxist totalitarianism 😕
I often find myself wishing these guys were an instrumental band. They are so good. Yet the vocals are not that good and often drown out what is going on rather than compliment. I am into a lot of music with growls, and I can dig vocals quite a bit, but this band is so unique and the vocals to me sound like 100 other bands I've heard that didn't go very far. The fact they sometimes get in the way of hearing the greatness in the rest of the band is a big anchor for me. If not for these vocals I'd be listening to these guys a lot more than I do. I am someone who loves Opeth, used to sing songs from Death - Leprosy in my high school halls, and I love John Arch who many people hate and he is an acquired taste. I have given this guy the same treatment of listening to see if it would grow on me. Sadly it hasn't. I know some people like the vocals. Yet people also like a lot of the stuff put out in mainstream pop that is cookie cutter. If they just had something that didn't cover up the rest and complimented it then I think these guys would be a huge name in metal. Their riffs and music are awesome and unique. I actually prefer listening to the Joe Haley covers on youtube that he did on his Couch more than the original.
Its really not that bad, as far as drowning out the instrumentals. Maybe you need a better sound system or an EQ adjustment. I have 0 issues differentiating the sounds. Certainly doesnt warrant a storybook in the comments here.
@@fozy011 I like writing story books. That's the true diversity. We are different people. You do your thing, I'll do mine. Yet if you expect people to write and do what you want you are deluded. :) At least you didn't say TL;DR and then comment. I truly thank you for that. You took the time to read it and I appreciate that. As to my EQ. I have quite a good one. I can differentiate. That doesn't mean I think the balance with it is good. I also did mention that I know some people like his vocals. Thus, I wasn't indicating everyone had to agree with me. :) I do think if the vocals were more unique and complimentary to the music they would be a much more successful act than they are. I've shared them with quite a few people and I'm talking about the guitar riffs and the guy starts singing and they lose interest. I am a guitarist, cellist, and play a bit of keyboard/piano.
This band has produced of the most badass, intricate, and catchy guitar riffs in history, such a killer track \m/
