Do you have a video showing how you have everything hooked up? Or could you please explain? Like, are you running into a computer via USB then 5pin out to your hardware synths? Or is it all done via MIDI over USB? Thanks!
@@tjontheroad Thank you! So do you have breath control 02, controlling different parameters on your hardware synths ? Your help is very appreciated, my good friend just bought an Emeo and we're trying to figure out how to trigger hardware synths.
The Boss expression pedal is also being used for Mod Wheel or Expression input. That is also channeled via the MRCC. This in replacement of Breath control.
@@tjontheroad So essentially we would map breath control to any parameter we want on a hardware synth? Can we just skip breath control and just trigger notes and velocity? Sorry for all the questions...MIDI wind is totally new to me. Thanks a million for your help so far!
Yes you need to program your synth for modulation of the desired parameter via breath. Breath control does not trigger notes. It only modulates the sound based on how you assign it in the synth. When playing the Emeo, three types of MIDI data are all sent to your synth. Note on/off, velocity, and continuous controller (breath). Note on/off triggers the sound. Velocity determines the initial sound loudness and/or other variations if assigned in the synth. Controller (breath) can be assigned within the synth to things like the filter cutoff, vibrato, post initial trigger loudness, etc. Note, every hardware and software synth is different. Some except breath control. Some don't.
@@tjontheroad and can I connect Fs-1 too and may be you know where can I found a guide haow too or you can tell me becuase I try it and norhing happened thanks my freind
The Boss FS-1 WL? That's bluetooth MIDI correct? I don't have one to demonstrate sorry. FWIW, I always found bluetooth MIDI to be unreliable and I avoid it. The Boss EV-1 WL also has bluetooth, but I don't use it. I only use the hardwired USB or MIDI cable I/O.
@@tjontheroad well I try to conected via Usb too and didnt work at all, Kontak recognize but doenst work , also the Respiro recognize it and the same result, well any way thanks
As explained in earlier comments, I use a MIDI interface to merge the Emeo with the wired MIDI before sending it to the computer. Most plugins will only except one control source at a time. In this way, the software considers the incoming data to be from a single controller.
Yes, but you'll need a powered USB host to MIDI device between the two. In this video, I'm using Conductive Labs MRCC MIDI interface for that function when using synths that do not have a direct USB host port. See prior comments for details. Thanks for watching, TJ
It'll need replacing. I'm not sure what type of rechargeable battery it uses or how to do the job. Would need to ask the manufacturer that info. Thanks for watching, TJ
@@KoolWayne512 Emeo is only a controller. It doesn't have any internal sounds. Audio comes from the synth or computer you're using with Emeo. Thanks for watching, TJ
Hi, there's several possible things you can try to find the issue. Emeo is fairly power hungry. I'm not familiar with the MX49 USB power rating but that's something you should check. Also, a newer USB A to C type cable is required. The correct MIDI channels on both devices is also necessary. Thanks for watching ,TJ
@tjontheroad How are you connecting the Emeo to your Synthesizers, Are you using the USB-C to USB-A cord that comes with the Emeo ? If you are, do you plug the USB-A straight into the back of your Synthesizers USB-A (HOST) port ?
Depends on the synth. Both the Roland Fantom and Waldorf Quantum have USB type A host ports and Emeo is connected directly to them. For the other synths in the video, the Emeo is plugged into a Conductive Labs MRCC MIDI interface via USB. The MRCC channels the input throughout my studio via 5 pin DIN MIDI cable. In all cases, Emeo is connected via an USB type A to type C cable. You can purchase the same cable I used here on Amazon.com www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BSBNBHP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
Again, Emeo doesn't make any sound on its own. There are no onboard sound sources. It is a digital saxophone because it is a real saxophone body that transmits digital MIDI data to whatever synth you choose. You want sax sounds, use it with SWAM or another source. In the case of this video, I wanted to demonstrate Emeo used with electronic music synth sounds. This to show the expanded range available. Don't make judgment on the Emeo itself solely based on the sound choices in the video.
@@tjontheroad sorry but I find that these electronic sounds sound terrible. I presume that most (serious) people just want to have a digital saxophone to improve their skills without bothering other people. I don't see the point using it to make flute or some gadget synthetiser sounds. Different strokes for different folks I guess, but to me it's really not a good advertising for Emeo - the Yamaha 120 can do these synthetiser sounds for 5x less the price!
