21:08 - Did you notice how Walt shot Jack in the middle of his sentence, exactly the same way Jack shot Hank in the middle of his sentence. Poetic justice.
@@balrog7252I agree but after I first watched the finale I always wondered what happened to Jesse and how did he avoid the police ect so was nice to see how that happened I guess!
Everyone dies... even YOU reading this now. And its coming soooooner than hou may habe thought. Walt understood that and died proudly and how he wanted. So fuck anyones opinions about it. 😊 a real nigga will pick the time to go. My only fear of death is coming back to this bitch reincarnated.......
Jesse's last look at Walt is so layered- after all they've been through, no words really needed to be said. Jesse finally lived up to his potential as a budding chemist (well, for bad purposes) as it was hinted at by Walt's "apply yourself!" notes on his homework (and subtly through his actions throughout the series, like taking Jesse under his wing & constantly pushing him to do better).
I love how Walt shot Jack in the face mid sentence the same way Jack shot Hank in the face mid sentence. Felina is such an incredible wrap to an amazing show. Felina is also an anagram of finale. Fans also noticed that Fe Li Na on the periodic table of elements stand for Blood Lithium and tears. Lithium being an ingredient for Meth. So clever. Im excited to continue this journey with you.
The episode title is pure genius Felina is a reference to the 1959 song "El Paso" by Western music artist Marty Robbins(The song was played at the start of the episode). There is an awesome RUclips video that matches up the song to the montage of Breaking Bad. Felina is also an anagram of the word "finale”. Fe Li Na is also a composite of the chemical signs for iron, lithium, and salt
You are the sharpest reactor on youtube. You got so many details correct so quickly, even what Walt was building with that contraption for the M60. Bravo Evie 🤘
I like the thematic element of Walter killing Jack and Jesse killing Todd. Jack represents Walt at his worst, most dark form; the ego-driven, greedy maniac who will do anything to stay on top. Todd is kind of like Jesse in that he conveyed the innocence of a child and was most likely groomed into being a killer by a maniac with an ego (Jack). They killed the worst parts of themselves literally and figuratively in the redemption that was this episode.
26:20 - This all just has so many layers. There's definitely a layer of Walt did it to himself. But you also have to remember, Walt was laying ON TOP of Jesse when he used the gun. So he actually took the bullet for Jesse. So in some way it's also a sacrifice of Walt's in the name of their relationship, which is slightly redemptive. And then Walt saying to shoot him you can really read in two different ways. You can read it as Walt just wanting it to be over and him really wanting this or, and this is the way I read it, you can see it as Walt wanting to give Jesse the chance for revenge on him for what he put him through. Which Jesse realizes and then decides he can't kill Walt and also doesn't want to do his killing anymore, and so he says "do it yourself" knowing full well that Walt was going to die soon anyway. There are just so many layers to this one part of the episode. One of the things that impresses me the most about "Breaking Bad" is not just that it's good. It is very good, but so are many shows. But "Breaking Bad" is very CONSISTENTLY good. In my opinion there isn't a single bad episode, and even the "worst" episodes are still just "pretty good." And they also did something many shows, even very good shows, struggle with. Which is completely stick the landing. As a writer myself, I am just endlessly impressed with the talent and skill of this show's writers.
I love this ep... him coming back and cleaning up some of the mess, with not a ounce of pride. You can even see self-loathing, just under the surface. Regardless of what he did or caused, he never lost his conscience. We all do bad things.. but many don't gaf. That's what separates us. He went out with his science, which I think is fitting. But he came back and took responsibility. Yeah, he's fascinating to me. Bryan's acting is a huge part of that too. To Breaking Bad 🥂
Walt made a robot (mechanical arm). THAT was Jesse's rescue idea all those episodes ago (making a battery also). Cooking in an RV, train robbery, magnet to destroy the laptop hard drive, etc... "The idiot", was actually the idea man behind much of their success. I think Jesse was the real Heisenberg... Walt's last gift to Jesse was touching all the lab equipment and dying there. Thus erasing Jesse as their main cook.
Cheers! You did a great job with these reactions. It's a long series and many don't make it all the way. Good job on the edit and you made it a pleasure to view this show again. I hated when the show ended because interactions between Walt, Jesse, and Hank were so good. Not sure I will watch BCS with you because I want to watch it again without the edits. It was hard to watch that show because time between seasons seem to vary by a lot and it was hard to remember all the things that happened.
I rewatched the whole series with you. That was so much fun! I'm also sad that it is over, but will join you for Better Call Saul, more for the Evie of it all.
To this day, this is the best Hero-to-Villain story I've ever seen. Most of the time, the transition happens quickly. One or two large traumatic events, and the hero just "snaps". But this... this is a gradual fall from grace. You see everything that happens, you see the reasons, you understand the motivations... and every step forms a pathway. It's just. so. brilliant.
Another thing Walt did my choosing this ending: he took on the heat that would've been on Jesse. The DEA knows blue meth was still being made and sold; now they're going to assume (like Badger and Skinny Pete did) that Walter has been the one cooking it. Jesse remains as free as Walt could make him.
Just wanna say I really enjoyed your journey with this show tremendously. I've been here since the beginning and I knew you would love it, I just knew it! Lol I was also sad it was coming to an end, but, what a wild ride it was. Peace from Texas.
I can't believe that you finished BB. You won't regret BCS although it's a bit slow a the beginning as BB was the first season, remember? The writers and all the staff just perfectionized their crafts. Many more cool shots ahead. It's gonna be a treat to watch it again with you.
Evie I thought you'd like to know I've heard that when the producers of Breaking Bad were in the process or creating this show wanted some well known actors to play some parts to help them draw in viewers. None those actors wanted to be on the show because it was intended for television. As the show started to air and grow in popularity like nothing else out there, all those well known actors had a change of heart and were all trying to get on the show. The producers could have used them or wrote them into the show, but they didn't. I'm glad they didn't include them. They show stands on its own without them and its good. I'm so glad you liked liked it. Its sad now that its over because it was nice seeing your reactions to it and now there is no more Breaking Bad.
This moment is bittersweet. I’ve loved watching you experience the Breaking Bad finale, and it’s been so much fun sharing this journey with you over the past couple of months. It’s going to feel a little empty not having your Breaking Bad reactions to look forward to on Monday mornings - I’ve really come to enjoy them. I hope that maybe one day you’ll react to The Wire, Mr. Robot, and Sons of Anarchy. These shows have the same incredible writing, storytelling, and action as Breaking Bad, and I think you’d love them. They’re all completed series with at least four seasons, and I would absolutely love to watch any of them with you.
Yep, Walt is dead. Always a pleasure, Evie, but to get to share this incredible show with someone so sensitive and intelligent (and hilarious) is a privilege. I agree with you about Walt's complexity. He is often written off as a straight up psychopath, but I think he was a relatively ordinary fellow who would have continued to be so had he not fallen ill and gotten this crazy idea in his head, which led him to discover a potential within that was better left untapped. Maybe a potential we might all have under the right circumstances (see: any and all war). Thank you so much for taking us along on this journey. Looking forward to El Camino!
Walter protecting Jesse like that was actually foreshadowed in Season 2; when Tuco took them hostage Mythbusters did an analysis on Walter’s deadly contraption in the trunk, guest starring Vince Gilligan! Those faces you make at the beginning of the last two episodes make me laugh, so serious, sad and funny at the same time. Its always sad when an amazing series ends. In the future if you want to watch a series as good as Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, I suggest Fargo. All seasons are amazing and its kind of similar. Walt cooked a TON of meth and never took it once. Not even at the end.
Don't worry Better Call Saul is even better. I know that's crazy to say but it's true. Vince Gilligan and the showrunners really hit their stride with that one. It's a slow burn but boy oh boy does it burn. Same color theory stuff applies very good excellent
You saying "did he get high" at the end reminded me of a reddit threat from the Breaking bad fan community about how they are all in all satisfied with the ending because lets be real, its pretty fucking good but they came up with an alternative ending where walt, about to bleed out from the gun shot wound, decides to try his blue magic for the first and last time and the shot would end with his pupils dilating and a faint smile on his face.
It was fun watching BB with you. Please do Battlestar Galactica (2004), Spartacus (2010), and Banshee next. Or at least add them to your future watch list. Thanks.
There’s no point in any reactors doing Spartacus these days. RUclips’s absurd rules prohibit showing blood and gore, and advertisers pressure creators to censor language - which most of them do. Any reaction to Spartacus would be, at best, 90% blurred out and probably bleeped. RUclips is a garbage, and advertisers are cancerous parasites that ruin everything.

So that song that plays at the beginning with Walt in the car is El Paso by Marty Robbins. If you look, the lyrics to the song, from start to finish, exactly describe the entire plot of breaking bad. And the small portion of the song we hear in that scene perfectly aligns with where we are in the story, it’s right before the end. Not even joking, if you search Marty Robbins El Paso Breaking Bad here on RUclips you can watch a video that explains what I mean with scenes from the show. It’s almost beyond belief.

The final gaslight. Jesse nods to thank Walt for saving him from the prison Walt got him into.

To answer your question from last episode, you want to watch El Camino before BCS while BrBa is still fresh. It's basically a wrap-up second finale.

Thanks Vince Gilligan.
Walt getting ripped on meth for the first time while the cops close in on him would have been quite the twist!
They find him behind the lab, tweaked out and digging for whatever Tucker was trying to find.
