I began working on this ride this year. The old spiel was activated via a push button, which the engineer had to be push seven times, as you went through a certain part of the ride. This year, now that the train has new scenery, the spiel is also redone. It is no longer scene-specific, and the button is only pressed once.
I rode it once in July and they turned it on too late as everything was one or two scenes behind, and I was sitting towards the rear. I never realized how fast that train really goes.
hahaha...me too now that I am old. I used to get a kick out of watching the girls "jump" when the train ran right through the musket battle between the Indians and General Braddock's and George Washingtons troops back in the 70's!
@railfan15136 After Andy Carnegie became rich by working for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a Telegraph Worker which made him rich, Andy built 3 Librarys out of his own Money. The first was in Braddock PA where it is today. The Second was in Duquesne PA where Port Authority has its Park N Ride. The Third is in Homestead PA. Andy also built the B&LE and Union Railroads. The PRR at first was the only RR that serviced Andys Edgar Thompson Mill but they began to rip Andy off so Andy had asked for help
@railfan15136 Andy had owned many Mills in USA and he needed a cheap way to get Coal and Coke to the Mills to make Steel products, so he asked William Vanderbilt to build the South Penn Railroad to connect the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad to the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie to connect to the New York Cenrail and New York and Hudson Railroads. To do this he needed through Marriage the Lehigh Valley and CNJ to to help make this a reality to take business from the PRR. This all ties together.
