Catalina has stepped it up since my 1980 c30!
Catalina continues to evolve. Thanks for watching the video
Love that dumbwaiter!!!
I think he said he was the owner? Don’t be so mean. 😉
Very nice boat , well made .
Thanks for watching
I had a 1978 Catalina 27 I was so in love with that little boat swore I would take it across the ocean LOL
Catalina builds honest boats. Always have, always will.
Great Video, learned a lot!
Thanks for watching.
Hey Ed. We met at the boat show in Maryland
Boat shows are important to get to know buyers and sellers.
soo good.
Uns dos melhores projetos de veleiros
Hard to fit a wind vane steerage system for serious cruising , Some nice touches .
I recently saw a Tartan (about 42’) with a self-steering wind vane mounted on the port side of the transom. This boat seems to have room for a similar application. First time I’d seen such a system mounted off the centerline of the boat. The love it , and it made for unobstructed access to the sugar scoop stern.
@@fredfisher2699 I delivered a Hanse 501 , 2 year old from New Caledonia to Hawaii last year with a similar set up , Worked OK for most of the time BUT on the port tack ( witch we had for 1200 miles) in any thing over 15 to 20 knots useless , We had a back up AP witch gave up 4 days out in calm seas .
@@billhanna8838 was it the angle of heel that compromised the system, or something else related to wind speed? If so, could that be addressed by a vane that goes deeper into the water to account for heeling?
People really prefer to just see the boat.
I would like to know what speed the engine can move the boat and if that figure stays the same in a moderate sea. Another words, if the engine has enough hp to move it in less than ideal conditions and what the fuel burn rate is.
Spoken like a non-sailor.
@@teeheeteeheeish😂😂😂 NO question is a dumb question in sailing. Your life and money may depend on it. 💀
Great boat! Bit heavy breathing from the camera operator... 😉
Not sure the port rear berth is double nor indeed the single berth single. Not in 2021 at least.
Hi there, what would the base price for this very beautiful yacht be?
When Catalina starts building the 545 again the base price will be about $1,300,000.
The aft cabin with two single berths...from what I could see the inside berth looked a narrow. I Don't recall seeing the head or for cabin in the presentation....
Those are some seriously narrow berths.
@@pjburke131 -- better engine and mechanical access ...
pick your poison!
the boat looks great, though I think the slow moving electric motors (for the dumb waiter and after berths) is a bit much. A simple mechanical slide & lock would last way longer and easier to fix - if it ever breaks (or breaks in remote areas). These days it is tricky to get any parts!
Catalans always present well and they all then expose just how poorly they are made since I never met a Cataleana that didn't leak and start to fall apart. The giveaway was how that dumbwaiter struggles or how the trash bin jams on the demo or the ice maker whose door swings so that it cannot be reached from the salon but one has to get all the way into the galley before they can open the door. Lots of features all of which will I'm sure will be so much fun to maintain as the years pass.
I've never heard anyone complain. Literally ever.
@@teeheeteeheeish You spend too much time with new boats in sunny dry environments... ha, ha, ha...literally...
@@superbmediacontentcreator '85 Catalina in the PNW. Never a single issue. Nice try.
Nice
Thanks
Cok güzel 👍👍👍
Nice.
Thanks for watching. We have many more videos
Definitely the man's swan song. RIP. Has Catalina recovered from his death? I sent a request for info on this one some months back, but he died about the time I did, and I have yet to get a response.
Oh but the maintenance and constant upgrading.
Whatever it costs, double it, every 3 years.
Yachts do cost money to maintain, but the lifestyle is worth the effort and expense. Thanks for watching the video. We have added many more.
Unfortunately it is out my budget :)
Fortunately Catalina builds yachts from about 12' to 54'
Beautiful boat , lousy presentation....
Absolutely nothing nautical looking about that exterior. What a shame.
Yea, Hunter when through a similar period where they put an arch on almost everything and tried to make their boats look more like cars.
I would never buy a Catalina sailboat.
Why is that?
Then why do you watch?
doh!
A Bavaria man? 😂
It is just so ugly on the outside . Please find a designer with a sense of style ! I remember Catalina boats 40 years ago . Beautiful lines , fast, and a hard working family could buy one !
It's interesting how yachts have evolved. Some for the better some not so much, but it is all consumer driven.
Needs Aquaholic to do the presentation. I lost the will to live listening to this man. He opened every cupboard and drawer, but only showed the Head in the stateroom.
He clearly indicated that there is much more information - if you are truly interested, contact the presenter!
Looks like a fine boat.
It's all good for you now as he is dead...
Nice looking vessel, poor presentation.
