I know what you mean about feeling anxious all the time and not feeling like you can trust yourself whether or not the threat is real -it’s exhausting. The good thing I can say is that if you work on it whether it’s therapy books videos whatever however you choose to do it whatever works best for you but if you actively working on it in time it can get better it is better for me now and I trust myself when I get that bad vibe. Not perfectly , sometimes I still Vacillate, but I would say a good 90% of the time I don’t question myself anymore if I feel bad I get out

I truly believe that our "citified" 21st C. conscious mind doesn't always pick up on subtle warning signs around us the way that our primal subconscious might be.😉 So, when some..thing is making you uneasy at all, even if you can't really pinpoint an obvious cause for concern, Please listen to your "gut" and follow the course of "better safe than sorry"! Esp. in some of these pretty remote, out of the way places.. I worry less for you with regard to an animal attack (tho I worry about that too where you're concerned; I'm a worry wort, what can I say, lol!) than I do if you were to happen upon the "wrong" person! I just really care about you, Birdie; we All do! And we just want you to stay safe while you're exploring and experiencing this time in your life. ohh aw birdie!!! I was also bit by our family Rottweiler in the face at age 13-14 and needed plastic surgery. I was kissing him and laying near him like I often would and he was growling and the younger version of me did not back off... he was older and had bad hips. I to this day love dogs sooo much and my fear has completely left. My rescue girl is the sweetest yet fearful lover in the world and it has been such a blessing to watch her heal long side my own healing. that was a ramble but just sharing, you are a lovely human and your spirit is infectious! much love to you

Birdie, gut instinct is so important to be listened to. Don’t question it or rationalise it. By the time you’ve done that the danger will have you. I’ve ignored my gut instinct to my peril a few times in my life. Plenty of great places to be as you’ve already shared. ❤
Hi Birdie, that’s a beautiful spot. Strange about the Labrador, especially if you couldn’t see anyone with it. Might have wandered off from its people. Hope it will be okay. When I was a child, I tried to pick up a fully grown lab & it bit me on the stomach. Luckily it didn’t turn me off dogs though. That constant feeling of anxiety that you have, I think, is perfectly normal, given that you haven’t done a lot of remote camping. As you do more of it, you’ll start to relax more, but you’ll also still remain alert to your surroundings. I’d be more worried if you had a totally laid back, nothing to fear here kind of attitude. Healthy to have a bit of both going on. It’s nearly 5.30am here, been awake all night. I love your video, but I haven’t got the mental energy to finish it right now. No sleep though, just going to close my eyes & relax for awhile. See you later. ❤

Birdie! In case nobody has mentioned it, a Garmin InReach mini is a wonderful tool to have if you plan to spend a good amount of time on logging/backroads/BLM. The device is an investment, but the service is quite reasonably priced. I have one from my backpacking days. Be Safe and happy adventuring!

Hi and thank you! Yes, my daughter has another year of high school and she hasn't really decided what she wants to do next. She is working part time as a tutor, but doesn't really think she'll pursue that as a career. She does like baking and may do that. I just want her to be happy; so whatever she chooses, as long as she's happy, she's won, in my opinion. :)
I'm glad you are finding some more scenic areas to hang out. When your gut tells you that something is off even if you can't figure out what it is, follow it and move on. I also wanted to say that the second place you were at is beautiful but it looked like it might have been an old burn area. If it was, be careful about parking close to or within reach of any burned trees. They can fall without warning and you certainly don't want to be in the path of a falling dead tree. Just a little educational warning. I was happy to see that you posted today. I was a little concerned that we hadn't heard anything from you for such a long time since your last post and you were a little down during that post so.... be safe, be happy, and enjoy your time.
Birdie, the best places are going to be those so remote that there is no cell service. Just remember that we grew up without it. 30 years ago Iused togo solo backpacking in the mountains...with no cell. Don't let fear of no cell limit your locations.
Its too bad you think its bad advice to not live in fear and to live like people have lived for the last 6000 years...without cell service. Its not a big deal.
Ultimately I do agree with you that I shouldn't let that keep me from the best places all of the time. And I think sometimes I will stay places without cell service if it means an experience I can't get somewhere else. But my daughter will worry so much if I can't stay in touch with her. So for her, I'll usually opt to be somewhere we can text. But I definitely see what you're saying. :)

Birdie! In case nobody has mentioned it, a Garmin InReach mini is a wonderful tool to have if you plan to spend a good amount of time on logging/backroads/BLM. The device is an investment, but the service is quite reasonably priced. I have one from my backpacking days. Be Safe and happy adventuring!

Hi Birdie! It’s so great to see you back on your channel! I know a lot of us were worried about you, but that’s just because we love you so much! You are the bright spot in our day, for sure! I’m so glad you enjoyed that particular camping spot, even if you probably won’t be able to go back. But you have the memories of it and you also have the film footage of it, so that’s good. I hope you have a nice time with your daughter when you go back into the city and I was wondering if your daughter graduated this past spring or if she has another year of high school left? Hi and thank you! Yes, my daughter has another year of high school and she hasn't really decided what she wants to do next. She is working part time as a tutor, but doesn't really think she'll pursue that as a career. She does like baking and may do that. I just want her to be happy; so whatever she chooses, as long as she's happy, she's won, in my opinion. :)

I'm glad you are finding some more scenic areas to hang out. When your gut tells you that something is off even if you can't figure out what it is, follow it and move on. I also wanted to say that the second place you were at is beautiful but it looked like it might have been an old burn area. If it was, be careful about parking close to or within reach of any burned trees. They can fall without warning and you certainly don't want to be in the path of a falling dead tree. Just a little educational warning. I was happy to see that you posted today. I was a little concerned that we hadn't heard anything from you for such a long time since your last post and you were a little down during that post so.... be safe, be happy, and enjoy your time.

Birdie, the best places are going to be those so remote that there is no cell service. Just remember that we grew up without it. 30 years ago Iused togo solo backpacking in the mountains...with no cell. Don't let fear of no cell limit your locations.
Bad advice. That was 30 years ago, my friend. Please, don't isolate yourself without having a phone.
Its too bad you think its bad advice to not live in fear and to live like people have lived for the last 6000 years...without cell service. Its not a big deal.

Ultimately I do agree with you that I shouldn't let that keep me from the best places all of the time. And I think sometimes I will stay places without cell service if it means an experience I can't get somewhere else. But my daughter will worry so much if I can't stay in touch with her. So for her, I'll usually opt to be somewhere we can text. But I definitely see what you're saying. :)

Hi Birdie we missed you. The spot were people stop at might be a good spot for pictures. When I go to my daughter house there is one spot that people always stop at. They’re taking photos of the breathtaking mountain views, I’ve even seen a proposal there. Stay safe as always

Yay! You're back! After your last vlog, I was a little worried about you. I've been there, and those dark spaces are pret-ty hard to crawl back out of. Especially when you're isolated. I am so glad your daughter stays in contact with you. Don't want to hear of an unidentified, half-eaten-by-wild-boars woman found off Highway 50.
