Dude yes! I'm going to write so much fanfic for Mikey's experiences. In a way I relate to Mikey a lot with the way his brothers treat him. They love him, but they don't realize how much they hurt him. I've always felt passionate about that, it kind of annoys me how people ignore this and simply write Mikey off as the constantly happy character that isn't bothered by anything. He has feelings, even if he doesn't show it. Behind that wide smile his feelings are masked. He only shows what he wants to feel in front of everyone. That's my fanon Mikey mainly cause they don't show that side in canon.

As someone who was obsessed with the Nickelodeon 2012 series, with Leo and Mikey as my two favorites, this... hit really hard. I also never realized how much each turtle actually could have motivation for suicide, or at least depression. Leo being overwhelmed by all the responsibility after Splinter's death, Raph constantly being reminded of losing his best friend (Spike/Slash) and feeling alienated as the hothead of the family, Donnie constantly being ignored by his brothers and crush, except when they need his intelligence, and Mikey... jesus christ... I actually think the turtles shaped a lot of my life. I try to be strong and responsible like Leo, smart like Donnie, goofy like Mikey, and I'm certainly a bit of a hothead. Not to mention Splinter's insight, Karai/Miwa's attitude, April's sass, Kasey's resourcefulness... wow

The fact that Mikey didn't fade or really heal from Leo's words like Don and Raph struck me right in the feels. This whole thing got me right in the feels actually, but yeah. I love a good Mikey angst, and this is the best thing I've seen in a while. Thank you!
I would like to mention how Mikey was the only one out of the three who was still broken. It just goes to show that his and (some of Leo’s) own scars run deeper than Donnie and Ralph’s.

I got into the tmnt fandom last year and wow I love this. The absolute FEAR on Leo’s face when he sees Mikey on the roof and listens to him got me so hard-
I look back on through the episodes and it makes a lot of sense, especially with Mikey. This is probably one of my favorite animatics now. Even if I am late to it
I loved this. So I like the fact that Mikey was last, not many people will acknowledge how happy it is to say positive especially when no one wants your positivity. A lot of people who I've seen do this kind of animation will usually just repeat the few scenes while the music is going oh, but you did something that I really appreciated. You took other characters and you still put them in there even if it's just for a scene. It shows that Leo had to go through a lot more than just his brothers. You really did well on the expressions too. You did well!

Leo’s been put under a lot of pressure in the first three and a half seasons (second half of season 4 hitting him the hardest) of the show, and this video shows the pain he’s been through really well. Same with the other three brothers, yeah they’ve been through a lot of pressure and pain too, but it wasn’t as bad a Leo’s pain to me. I mean, Leo even had a dream in season 5 of his brothers dying.
You've really captured the boys personalities and demons in a way that they ought to. This is so refreshing to see, but at the same time absolutely heartbreaking. Mostly because it's realistic.

Yup, that's basically the whole concept of the song ^^ Each day the person tries to convince themselves to not do it. Each day they succeed, but eventually came to a stop when they can no longer handle the problem. There are multiple reasons why the song's name is "My R". My Response My Reflection My Reasons Etc. You're not an idiot. The song's context is complicated since it's in a form of poetic message ^^
to be honest, my theory has always been that, in the memory of each person the main character has both stopped from suicide and had an impact on them, they went and bought or did something that reminded them of that person or maybe I'm making a fool of myself 😂

You know, Mikey beeing the last one Leo meets on the roof is genius in so many ways. Not only is it extremly fitting from what we see in the show, which allows us to alredy asume that Mikey is going to play that part in the song, it also hits especially hard if you concider that the person "stopping" Mikey from jumping, is one of the people who drove him up there to beginn with. Just imagine how shitty Leo must feel knowing he nearly drove his baby brother to suicide. Making it all the more telling that he can't really stop Mikey himselfe becouse he is simply lost for words, leaving it up for Mikey to decide to not jump (today)
This... Is... Amazing... But you make it seem like donnie has the least damage, but I like to think that all of them are probably just as damaged. Donnie is more the pacifist in the group and goes for more non-lethal hits, as seems he'd rather create things than fight. Being probably the weakest, he would feel a burden sometimes. Also, when he's creating a brain serem for Karai, Leo makes him feel like he's not trying hard enough, when he gave it hos all, and apparently his all was weak, so Mikey said. So it's not just heart break from april, but I can see it's probably to fit the music video which I understand full heartly, either way I also completely agree with the mikey and leo, poor mikey, being the optimist and getting called names, sad. Theres more to Raph as well and I would rant about him to if not this has gone on long enough and i'd rather spare you your time if your even reading this. Awesome animation, truly love it! Their problems here are generic. It's what the fandom mainly know about them, seeing that not everyone watched every episode-- that includes myself. Therefore, I used the problems the characters were mainly known for. Btw, being heartbroken is just as damaging and painful. It's not light. While it may seem to be, let me remind you that some people actually hurt themselves because of this reason. No problems are light-- each of us are fighting our own battles and it's not right to compare which one of us had been through the worst. I viewed it more as the hearts represents the days. Donnie was day 1 (that's why it was purple) and Leo's heart wasn't as damaged as it wpuld by the end of this. Day 2, Raph was red and the pain became worse, then Mikey and his heart completely broke; and then just himself. The final frame, one of my favorites, I've always like to think that the people he's helped (his brothers) stopped him from jumping like he helped them.
I know this video is a few years old but after watching Rottmnt i went back and rewatched the 2012 tmnt and i just finished season 4 and came back to this video and it hit so HARD. Leo having to become the head of the family after Splinter's death, all that pressure on him, oh geez I feel so bad for i just wanna give him a hug.

Late commenting on this, but I don't care. I love this animatic and the song. The song has actually become my comfort song, ever since I first heard it (first heard it thanks to this animatic). Anytime I feel upset or anything similar, I listen to this song. I don't know why, but it just comforts and calms me.
Honestly, this song is so genius. It’s about a girl that goes up to the roof and is about to jump but she manages to convince herself not to do it each day but then finally at the end she can’t seem to hold on any longer and can’t convince herself not to jump anymore. She just can’t come up with reasons to live anymore like she used to be able to. So she jumps. So smart and I know this song is about suicide but it’s honestly such a banger. It’s my favorite song right now.

The reason it fits better for Mikey is no one expects him to have abunch of emotional baggage in his head. With Leo it's really expected since he carries alot of the burden as the leader. Mikey is seen as happy and optimistic 24/7. So it would suprise Leo to see him up on the roof wanting to jump since all his brothers really see is him being happy. They never see him when he's alone so they would have little to no idea about what was going on in that head of his
The little details that I loved so much is that whenever after Leo convinced them to not jump, they got colors again and disappear, and three hands in the end was about to grab Leo to saved himo, and we know whose hands those are.

You know, Mikey beeing the last one Leo meets on the roof is genius in so many ways. Not only is it extremly fitting from what we see in the show, which allows us to alredy asume that Mikey is going to play that part in the song, it also hits especially hard if you concider that the person "stopping" Mikey from jumping, is one of the people who drove him up there to beginn with. Just imagine how shitty Leo must feel knowing he nearly drove his baby brother to suicide. Making it all the more telling that he can't really stop Mikey himselfe becouse he is simply lost for words, leaving it up for Mikey to decide to not jump (today)

This... Is... Amazing... But you make it seem like donnie has the least damage, but I like to think that all of them are probably just as damaged. Donnie is more the pacifist in the group and goes for more non-lethal hits, as seems he'd rather create things than fight. Being probably the weakest, he would feel a burden sometimes. Also, when he's creating a brain serem for Karai, Leo makes him feel like he's not trying hard enough, when he gave it hos all, and apparently his all was weak, so Mikey said. So it's not just heart break from april, but I can see it's probably to fit the music video which I understand full heartly, either way I also completely agree with the mikey and leo, poor mikey, being the optimist and getting called names, sad. Theres more to Raph as well and I would rant about him to if not this has gone on long enough and i'd rather spare you your time if your even reading this.

Their problems here are generic. It's what the fandom mainly know about them, seeing that not everyone watched every episode-- that includes myself. Therefore, I used the problems the characters were mainly known for.
Btw, being heartbroken is just as damaging and painful. It's not light. While it may seem to be, let me remind you that some people actually hurt themselves because of this reason. No problems are light-- each of us are fighting our own battles and it's not right to compare which one of us had been through the worst.

I viewed it more as the hearts represents the days. Donnie was day 1 (that's why it was purple) and Leo's heart wasn't as damaged as it wpuld by the end of this. Day 2, Raph was red and the pain became worse, then Mikey and his heart completely broke; and then just himself. The final frame, one of my favorites, I've always like to think that the people he's helped (his brothers) stopped him from jumping like he helped them.

I know this video is a few years old but after watching Rottmnt i went back and rewatched the 2012 tmnt and i just finished season 4 and came back to this video and it hit so HARD. Leo having to become the head of the family after Splinter's death, all that pressure on him, oh geez I feel so bad for i just wanna give him a hug.

It’s about a girl that goes up to the roof and is about to jump but she manages to convince herself not to do it each day but then finally at the end she can’t seem to hold on any longer and can’t convince herself not to jump anymore. She just can’t come up with reasons to live anymore like she used to be able to. So she jumps. So smart and I know this song is about suicide but it’s honestly such a banger. The reason it fits better for Mikey is no one expects him to have abunch of emotional baggage in his head. With Leo it's really expected since he carries alot of the burden as the leader. Mikey is seen as happy and optimistic 24/7. So it would suprise Leo to see him up on the roof wanting to jump since all his brothers really see is him being happy. They never see him when he's alone so they would have little to no idea about what was going on in that head of his

The little details that I loved so much is that whenever after Leo convinced them to not jump, they got colors again and disappear, and three hands in the end was about to grab Leo to saved himo, and we know whose hands those are.
