Internship at NITS/BIS. Experience of an intern at BIS. Life of a Mechanical Engineer from MNIT.

Hi 👋 guys i am going to share my life journey as a Mechanical engineer at MNIT and an an intern in the upcoming 8 months.
so I have been selected as an Intern at BIS ( BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDISATION) / NITS ( National institute of training for standardization).
selection process 🎓
To apply for the BIS Internship you can either go through the college or off campus opportunity provided by them.
The forms are circulated during the mid-November for the upcoming summer internship slots. Once the forms are circulated you need to apply Asap by submitting the required documents (list provided below) to the concerned coordinator. your selection is purely based on your Academic performance throughout your college life and the projects you have been a part of.
There is no technical or aptitude based test for the selection. Once the applications are selected by the college they Nominate the top few candidates for the internship slots where they are further compared with other candidates by the BIS.
The offer letters / list of selected candidates are circulated between February - March and the selected candidates and colleges are informed accordingly.
once you are selected you need to accept the offer letter within the given time period.

Day 1️⃣
You need to report at the NITS (National institute of training for standardization) In Noida for day 1 orientation. Try to reach your place of accommodation a day prior to get settled for the next day. The orientation usually starts at 9:00 am and you should try to be there on time as the institute Head along with other Individuals will be there to tell you about the BIS works and role and its history and the work / tasks you will be performing during the upcoming time period (2 months) .

11:30 - 1:00 Orientation
1:00 - 2:00 lunch
2:00 - 3:00 Orientation
3:00 - 3:30 snacks
3:00 - 5:30 Exercise / End session
Day 🥈
you will be asked to report to BIS HQ in Delhi near Manak Bhawan (nearest metro station: ITO). Here you will be informed about your Department at the main gate where you will need to enter your Details and will be asked to wait in a Conference room / Cafeteria u till the Department Heads arrive and assign you a working place💺 and assign you the tasks based on your interest in the field of your choosing. The tasks may be pre decided based on the ongoing process / standards under review during that time.
Here you will be assigned under a Mentor where he will keep track of your activities and guide you through out the process.
Daily schedule from this day Onwards:
9:00 am - Reporting at workplace
10:00 am - breakfast tea and snacks at you workplace
1:00 - 2:00 - lunch time
3:00 pm - coffee/Tea
5:30 - sign off from workplace
