Duane Vermeulen Being a WORKHORSE vs Australia | The Rugby Championship 2023

- Duane might not be South Africa's first option at 8 with Jasper Wiese being in the form of his life, but Duane Vermeulen showed us he still has enough in the tank to make a valuable contribution for the Springboks in the World Cup. He had an amazing game vs Australia and was a workhorse that was involved in all aspects of the game. He also showed he is still a leader on this team and having him in the squad will be a massive benefit for the boks.
He will always be a fan favorite for Springbok fans and it's going to be a sad day when he retires, but he has showed us that he still has gas in that tank to end his career on a high note. This Rugby Championship is going to be great for him to get form for the World Cup as well as play in front of his home crowd for one last time.
Lastly, I would also like to thank VHA Accounting Solutions for their partnership during this 2023 Rugby Championship. This video was sponsored by them. We look forward to a great partnership during this Rugby Championship

@02:24, did the Oz 8th man just hand off himself?
Yep, that's why I had to include that😂
I don't get it, would you mind explaining what I'm supposed to be looking for?
@@langjunxin7874 Aussie number 8 goes in and tries to hand Duane Vemeulen off, but in return, he gets hands himself off because Duane was too strong.
@@tasanalyticsHilarious illustration of Newton’s 3rd law in action. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The force exerted on Thormeulen’s chest is equal to the force exerted on the Aussies hand but because one of those objects is essentially a perambulatory brick outhouse it is the aspiring fender who is fended.
that hilarious, was like running into a wall lol
The boks have had some really class players over the years, Duane is right up there with the best of them.
01:45 Hooper's shoulder is still numb
He's as strong as a buffalo. BEAST!
Vermulen is a victim of his own ridiculous standards , by any other 8th man this would be man of the match , but Prime Duane Vermeulen standards means this was an 8/10....Vermulen in his prime was UNPLAYABLE.
His got the perfect balance between the power of Wiese and the soft skills of Joe Van Niekerk... The perfect 8th man , and his aggression is measured and controlled .
Evan Roos has a long way to go to reach this level
Duanes skill under the high ball is what makes him indispensable, that and his leadership!
I love the moment Valetini tries to hand off Duane, but ends up handing himself to the floor
Yes, had to rewatch that a few times. 😂
Yep, that's what you get for attempting a hand-off on a brick wall.
He asking duane to teach him brutal 8th man style
He is a beast this dude
Valetini looked at Duane and thought "nah, flop like a fish, this will hurt too much"😂😂😂
Just the cleaning, nevermind the rest...sheesh
He is still effective but past his peak. He peaked at the last World Cup where he was truly outstanding.
Still is one of the best 8s in the world.
He led by example, what all great captains do
Really good performance! 😀
If you do one on PSdT it would be 80min.
Did you see hooper fade after that massive hit up from Duane. Hoopers shoulder I think was buggered for the rest of the game. Fair play to Hooper though the guy didn't back out from tackels after that.
Jasper can take notes!
Wow this Boks pack is going to be scary come WC if they all available and red hot 🥵
He was everywhere against the wallabies
decent performance for 37 yrs
Thor
Good thing SA won or these videos would be all about the ref.
He's on the bench for Saturday
Another question tho
When will Jaden Hendrikse play again the springboks , isn't he the first option from the bench?
I'm not to sure about Jaden, but if it was up to me, I would have Grant Williams as my number 3 scrummie. To be personally, he has been one of the best players in the world with his form in the URC. He's a gamebreaker and even showed it last weekend with the limited time he was on the pitch. I'm a massive Grant Williams fan after seeing him play last season with the Sharks. He was on an other level.
We will have on the bench this Saturday:
- The best blindside flanker history. Body and lineout skills of a true lock, pace of center, workrate of a fetcher (matched in my lifetime only by that of McCaw), skills of a #8. Has any other blindside ever won world player of the year or even been unofficially considered best player in the game?
- IMO the best ever hooker, or at least a series part of the discussion . Not (yet) the greatest, but without weakness and peerless for grunt, physicality, and pilfering. His linking play is so effortlessly silky as to be completely overlooked. See Mapimpi’s WC final try.
- Perhaps ZA’s best #8 ever and MoM in a WC final.
- The most freakishly gargantuan and freakishly skillful athletic lock this side of eternity, destined for legendary greatness but tragically doomed by a gypsy spell picked up in Eire.
@@tasanalytics 100% agree
@@tasanalytics I'm a Williams fan too. He's a game changer, particularly when opposition is tired. Electrifying pace and step, an eye for the gap and a great pass service. I would take Faf, Jaden and Grant as my WC scrummies, as controversial as it sounds, because they each bring a different style. Jaden the controller, like Fourie Du Preez was, Faf the experienced campaigner and ferocious defender, and Grant to blow them away with his dazzle.
sad to say but the aussies didnt turn up.
waiting on the Saffa clowns to blame ref after todays whooping
Haha so you think he was good today?
@@tasanalytics Cry baby Saffas
@@tasanalytics Safe travels back home Rassie
Easy to look against an out of form Australian team though isn’t it..
