Not a Lakers fan, but based on their roster construction, their biggest holes are the 2 and 3 position. Scoring wasn't the issue for them. It was their defense. They need very athletic 2 and 3s that play both ends of the floor. Rui is awesome, but he really needs to play the 4. He's never going to play the 4 unless he's playing in Non- LeBron minutes. So they put him as the 3... And he's AWFUL at navigating screens and terrible at chasing around off ball players. He got absolutely cooked by MPJ in the playoffs. And then Reeves/DLo are basically redundant. Neither one of them are athletic enough to really defend the other teams best guards. Reeves puts a ton of effort on defense, but he wasn't able to bother Murray at all. I don't think Lavine solves that issue. Not unless I'm missing something, and he's an insane 2 way guard?
