My talk started off the same way too .. Lets argue... You're Father isn't even Big 3
...or somethin idk
that guy equating using an AI generated voice of somebody to making a cover of a song is absolutely ludicrous. a cover is a different version of a song, it isn't attempting to imitate the song, rather do a new spin on it. AI generating someone's voice purely exists to imitate, the slim amount of artistic value to come from that concept is lost by the exploitive nature of it
Like, Jonny Cash didn't just 'cover' Hurt by Nine Inch Nails? It was a transformative performance that is now the preferred version.
I love declarative statements on subjective topics.
Well, some covers don't really do much but I agree :l
@@acksawblackyou don’t need to say “in my opinion” before every single statement. You can just infer that the statement is subjective based on what the person is talking about. Not addressing their argument and instead going after them because they left out a clunky and unnecessary phrase seems like a cope to me tbh
@@mingledingle1556 that just makes you a well adjusted person and not the norm hah
I agree with the idea of Big 3, because i feel like Buggy the clown isn't as powerful as Shanks, Blackbeard, or Straw Hat Luffy, therefore we can remove buggy from the Big 4 to make a Big 3. Sure I can't deny the influence and size of Buggy's fleet, but a large fleet can just get sweeped easily with Haki by any of the others in the big 4 or marine admirals, making them somewhat unimportant. And really at the end of the day, he's not fooling any keen readers or prominent figures in the manga, really, It's just Mihawk and Crocodile pulling the strings.
Lmfaoo
Watch how Buggy ends up being the pirate king
But have you thought about the size and influence of buggy’s feet?
@@4dbagel945 good point, but Luffy can always stretch and have a ginormous feet if he wills to. I guess Buggy wins against Blackbeard in terms of feet, since i theorize that BB's feet would smell horrendous, potentially the grossest thing in all of the Blue Sea. Even outside of Big 4, does Buggy have the best feet in the game still? I don't think so, I have many names in my mind that would fit that, so i don't think it's correct to put him in big 4 by focusing on that quality.

The real problem with the big 3 is that we arbitrarily decided to stop at 3. Hip-hop is too diverse for 3 people to represent even just the major waves in the genre.
Why did we ever ditch top 5, 5 was a number that felt like could include different lanes and vibes while forcing you to be selective. 3 is some real scarcity mindset, "what grain based food should go?" type beat
J Cole just saidbthat and now everyone's acting like its a thing
W take, actually.
@@ogpandamonium literally, it was just a cold bar he wrote for first person shooters, not meant to be some codified rap bible "the big 3". Theres really no big 3, kendricks one of the best technically skilled but theres plenty of rappers out there who can go toe to toe with him
Well in Metal, there was 'the Big Four'; so either J Cole said this to be deliberately different OR ....someone else popularized the idea of big 3 in hip hop culture 🤷♂️
It was really cool to have a guest for Lets Argue. I just wish she read the tweets properly? It wasnt clear to me if Anthony understood that the tweets were saying that Kid Cudi should be considered a top 10 rapper of the 2010s, not all time. And that Drake is the McDonald's of hiphop, not music. Those meaningfully change what the tweets were saying.
Lil Wayne Big 3??? We all agreed Big 3 is 2010's no??? Cause no way Drake and Kendrick are Big 3 OAT. I'd be concerned if Potty thinks so.

The best version of Corey Feldman is Donatello the Ninja Turtle from 1990 .
I think Big Three refers to the 2010s era. Rappers like Lil Wayne and Kanye were already legends before anyone heard of Drake or Kendrick, so they shouldn’t count
I disagree because if their dominance continues into the next Era why would it matter? I don't think Wayne has but kanye for me definitely
You're correct. It's more about the time in which they came up and maintained their status. People can say whatever they want but Cole has progressively been getting better and I'm here for it

Wayne is for sure not "Big 3" of the 2010s. Wayne's prime was in the second half of the 2000s, the Big 3 of the 2010s is people who dominated the 2010s. Kendrick is a lock, Drake is a lock, Future and J. Cole are the ones fighting for that 3rd spot. They both blew up around 2011/2012 and released their essential projects during the 2010s. Tyler started to hit his stride late into the 2010s, Travis broke in like 2014 so that's a little too late for him to be counted imo. J. Cole is the better rapper but Future is by far more influential so it's a toss up between the two
Perfectly said
big 3 consists of rappers whose main strength is lyrics, bars and flows. travis or future are trap rappers and lyrically weak, production, autotune and flows carry them. they wouldn't fit in the big 3 where the two others are drake and kendrick, neither future or travis can body cole while rapping. cole kendrick drake is the perfect big 3
I thought it was about right now. If it's strictly 2010s then it's Kanye.

I know Kanye has gone completely off the deep end, but it's kind of crazy to not even mention him in the big 3 conversation. He has been far more influential than even Drake.
Kanye is from an older gen, I think that’s why he’s not being included. I believe his era big 3 contenders were Eminem , 50 cent and himself
I hate that mf but he is really one of the most influential artists out there. They’re not leaving him out, it’s just a different gen
@@totallynotS1 that's a good point, but Kanye continued to be influential into the 2010s with MBDTF, Yeezus, life of Pablo, Ye. If anything those are my favourite of his albums and from a decade where 50 cent and Eminem not really relevant.
He would be top 3 if he didn't drink a 12 pack, whip it out, and absolutely drench his reputation. But it's soaked and it needs to dry out for a while. Too bad he keeps on pissing

"The big 3" is completely subjective and makes no sense. Are we talking about the big 3 lyricists ? all around artists ? the top 3 names who sell the most ? I feel like rap as a genre and this topic in general is too complex to just use the term big 3.
Rap is about the bars and will forever be about the bars. Ya'll can hype all that other stuff and get crunk or whatever, but Rap and Hip Hop over all is about craftsmanship, elevation, and competition.

The thing about AI music is that if you're only basing it on recycling pieces from a certain artist, nothing new will progress. AI Music won't take over because it takes humans to make the decisions and choices that are required to push boundaries. This isn't for just music, but any artform in general.
The vast majority of humans aren't that creative. Not to rip on them or anything, but True creativity is so incredibly rare. Most of us are recycling stuff and will continue doing it subconsciously. And besides. I already heard some rather Banger Ai music lol. Yeah it comes off as a bit bland and generic like how Most Beginners will sound, but pretty soon. It's going to be able to take creative liberties during the rendering process and there might even be a slider or an option to do that.
In a DAW. There's a VST for Kontakt thats a guitar. There's a knob in which you can add randomness to it like its a human playing as opposed to the riff sounding the exact same everytime it's repeated.
Ai is a space in art that we didn't think was possible. I believe this is more a blessing in disguise then anything else. Nobody had the foresight to see that Ai could be creative before taking over white collar jobs and labour jobs.
Almost every "new" idea is just recycled or repackaged from old ideas
@@TallicaMan1986 the difference is that humans have personality, and that personality will more often than not show in their music. that, and they'll also make errors and have those little humanizing touches that you can only get from a human. computers do not have personality and so they have nothing to express. it's actually pretty disturbing how many people are willing to defend AI infecting creative mediums way before actually doing something beneficial to society. a VST using a "randomizing" algorithm to simulate human playing (which is still *simulated*) is not the same as AI generating slop that's being directly pulled by other artists based off of a prompt that you write in 14 seconds.
there is also a world of difference between a human being inspired by something and those influences making their way in their own music, and telling a computer "make a 4 minute track that sounds like Metallica". even if the human is "just copying" another artist, they are still using their brain and their human impulses to think of a song that sounds good to their ears, and composing it whether it be on an instrument or in a DAW. there is still artfulness in that because you are engaging your mind and your body in some way to make sound. there is no artfulness in telling a computer to generate music and then putting it on the internet to sell for money or rack up views on social media, and to say "AI art is fine because humans aren't that creative anyway" is a very pessimistic and defeatist way to think about art. it's honestly quite depressing to read.
@@charlenemaximumget his ass
@@TallicaMan1986i think this is a superficial take. It's true that no one creates anything out of thin air, but, even just subconsciously, people never copy someone's idea as is, even when the origin of it is clear, it gets mixed up with that person's personal beliefs and personality to the point where it gets different, original, in a way, because YOU made it. AI doesn't have anything inherently in it that does that, it copies work from other artists as is, it doesn't have any ability to fill what's missing or to produce anything truly interesting. In sure AI has produced some interesting things here and there, but art is not about making things, is about making good things, if you just keep trying you will eventually make something good, with ai one could say the process gets easier, but let's not pretend ai can create anything a human could not because it's not true, not at this time. Also, an important point I don't see people talking enough about, ai is cool and all when there is enough art around for it to learn and copy, but if the content we give the ai is made by other ai, the process brakes down really quickly. AI doesn't produce art that is better than the content used to teach it, people can do that. Now, what does "better" mean in this case is debatable, but the point remains
more guest let's argues! like that guy bradley tastes music or whatever
I feel like many people misunderstand the “Big 3” title/conversation. Kendrick, Drake and Cole have been grouped together as the top 3 from their class of rappers (the early 2010s) because they were the most popular from that class. As early as 2015, people gave them that distinction. Drake is there because he’s the most popular, Kendrick the most acclaimed, and Cole is right behind them in terms of popularity. Though I do agree, talent wise, Cole does not belong there. However, you cannot replace him with artists such as Lil Wayne or Kanye because they are not from that CLASS/GENERATION of rappers that came up with Kendrick, Drake and Cole. I think Tyler is a great replacement in the conversation as he started to make his name around that time and has the popularity to back it up.
If we're talking about the new generation of rappers than for sure but if we're talking about the 2010 to 2019 decade I'd put kanye in that conversation

If Cole's pride, like when he said he's Muhammad Ali in FPS or the entirety of Huntin Wabbitz and many other songs, is on purpose to lead up to The Fall Off then he's easily in the big 3. He seems really humble in interviews and when he apologized to Kendrick so I feel like it could be the case.
