  • How to fold a Pentagonal Star Flicker from a single square of paper using pure origami. This model also serves as an envelope or pouch to store little treasures of your choice. For an extra challenge see if you can turn this model into a 3D inflatable star pillow. A few more things you can to with it... make valley folds from the points of the star to the middle of the star, and it will spin on a table, and the open the pocket and insert a pencil (tip-first) into the pocket. Blow on side of it and it will spin as a spinneroo.
The other cool thing you can do with this model that I didn't show in the video is you can turn it into a star pillow. First, crease along on the edges of the 5-pointed star and make those creases genderless. Next, make perpendicular bisectors on all 5 edges (by folding adjacent corners together and creasing from the midpoint of the edges to the inner vertices of the 5-pointed star and make those creases genderless too. Finally turn it into a puff star by inflating the model, inserting a finger into the opening and refolding on the star of creases and on those perpendicular bisectors too. I might make it cleaner if you take the flap nearest to the opening and fold it into the opening.
Here are some ways to support me in my work of designing and teaching new origami models.

This channel is a great channel. I have been watching it for about 7 years. It is sad to see that this channel is started to die. I hope this channel gets the views like it used to 4 years ago.

Origami itself has ups and down in the natural trends of viewers. During the pandemic my channel doubled in views, now it's a bit down, but, hey, my Diamond Flicker Short from last year has 10 million views and my hexahedron has 4 million. Regardless of the number of views I get or my earnings, I'm still devoted to sharing my creations. Origami is and will always be my #1 passion.

Usually, when I publish a video, I feel I no longer need to keep the models because they have been released into the world, so I certainly don't have all the 1000+ models that I've taught.

    • @jeremyshaferorigami

I qualified 9 balls before 8 balls. (Accomplishing twice the number of catches as number of balls). Actually I don't think I've ever qualified 8 balls except maybe throwing them against the wall.
