Rivers are the worse place to fish for eels , you will catch them all night long but they will be mostly small , bootlaces.
I prefer to fish lakes or Pits for the Bigger eels , try and find somewhere that is Old and has not been drained , most Carp lakes have been drained at some point , pisses me off that does.
Also some of the best places for eels don't let you night fish.
Estate lakes can be Fantastic for Big EELS

Chris question.. Not quite got Into tieing me own rigs but u put the extra single hook is this key to help baits staying on and is it easy to do.. I'm guna buy sum kit and mesen pal and try but thought I'd ask mate
@@themightysumo8056 yeah it helps a lot. Especially with soft skin fish if you get the hook through the back bone. I've hooked a few pike with that single hook too in the past mate.
Also use it for trolling and sink and draw method 👍👍
