Opo in English is long green squash.. (Correction it is bottle gourd). Green squash is zucchini. You can cook it with ground beef. Cooking oil. Minced garlic, cube onions and tomatoes once you sauté the three ingredients put the ground beef till it’s tender. May take 20 - 30 minutes. Put fish sauce to taste or soy sauce with ground pepper. Mixed together with Knorr beef bullion and water about a cup then put the Opo. In three minutes it’s done. Pour the cooked Opo on top of cooked white rice. Super good! 😋 😋 😋
I love planting too I have a lot vegetables here in my garden everytime I harvest the okra I choose at the morning as morning snack coz I eaten it directly it taste sweet and very refreshing since my vegetable plants are organic❤❤❤🌿🌿🌿

Steam those veges with little water in a covered pan to the level of tenderness that you like then add spice of ur choice. Also good to cook in coconut milk. I’m also the kind who cooks with little liquid, it’s tastier that way unless I’m cooking soups
Vegetables grow & bear fruits very fast during rainy season from June to September and from November to February. Those are planting season for rice & vegetables in South of Philippines. Vitaly should plant "expensive" kind of vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, sili, vanilla, etc. 'coz they're "luxury" kind of edible plants. Organic farming (less herbicide, pesticide, insecticide, etc.) is the best! Also, plant Queen (Ormoc) Pineapple 'coz it's less maintenance type of fruits. It's also very, very sweet. One of the sweetest pineapples in the world. Stas, you may watch on youtube how to cook "Utan Bisaya" or "Law-Oy." That's one of my favorite veggies. Yum! 🥒🥦🥬
Those veges you can just steam till soft and eat like potatoes. You can also boll the upo with some water and ginger. May add bouillon or chicken broth
The fruit with rough edges all around it is patola in Tagalog; kabatiti in Ilokano; sponge gourd or silk squash in English. It belongs to the cucumber family. The patola csn be cooked with chicken tinola or beef soup. You can stir fry it with squash and string beans and okra with pork. The green papaya , you can cook chicken tinola with green papaya.
Upo is easy to make , cut I small pieces , shouted wt garlic, onion tomatoes , uçan also add pieces of pork if you wish too , but if it’s just upo no need to add more water , upo is watery veg and it’s healthy to did Digest
You can dry the upo or long gourd, scrap the inner part of the gourd until it's hollow inside, dry it and you can make it as a decoration or seed storage..
Suggestions: Search for Ginisang upo recipe on youtube. Good with pork meat or canned corned beef. Ginisang patola recipe tastes good also with pork meat. You can simply boil okra and enjoy it with fish sauce. For other recipes, try searching on youtube to know how the cooking is done.
Good job.. the UPO u took are good ones ( flesh and seeds still soft).. Simple delicious recipe: 1. saute garlic, onions and tomatoes 2. U can Add shrimps or sardines in can 3. Add the patola( cut into small pieces 4. Season to taste( salt, paminta) NO NEED TO ADD WATER as the patola will become watery afterwards...
Upo in Tagalog; Tabungao in Ilokano; Bottle Gourd in English You can cut it into thinly slices and stir fry with pork. You can use it with chicken tinola or beef soup. Or you can cook it the way the locals do.
patula ,just stir fry it with garlic, and add salt same as opo, okra just boil it and dip it with soy sause and chop tomato and onion, that’s it very easy.😁
Im a filipino you just steam that okra in a boiling water for a few minutes just half cook and serve with little venegar, kamatis, onion genger, little salt, little MSG(vitsin) and little spicy that we called salad
Patola can be made into loofah, just let it mature in the tree and dry then when completely dry, just remove the skin of the fruit and you have a loofah
Wowww Vitaly good vegetables garden 🪴 Patola- nice for soup smells great aroma. 1. Vegetable soup ( okra, patola, greens leaves or moringa, squash, Boil together add chicken cubes. Upo and sardines sauteed onion and garlic. 5. Okra quick boil, dipped in vinegar tuba. Sili .salt…
I wish I have extra backyard space so I plant those veges. My yard is packed with ornamental or flowering plants, and fruit trees. Gardening is fun that sometimes I call it farming because of so much time, money, and hardwork put into it!
Yes Stas is thin like Valera. You eat more rice and vegetables if u dont eat fish and meat. Yes Stas needs to more for fats. Backyard garden even very small is useful and practical for living. You vegetables u pick are rich in vitamins. Enjoy!
Upo is easy to cook just peel it and remove the core, and cut it in small cubes, stir fry with garlic and you can mix with tuna flakes season with salt and ground pepper. And it's good.
You can steam the okra. Dip in a sauce. Okra is good for diabetics. You can also put that in Sinigang (sour soup with different vegetables. For patola, you can put that in misua soup. Misua is a thin type of noodle.
I can suggest how to cook the okra, just steam it or saute with eggplant, okra and ampalaya. Sautee it with garlic, ginger onion and tomato. Add little water then little fire and cover it.
Okra is good for you, when you cook rice you can just put the Okra on top of the rice, but when only on low heat or steaming only so you can get all the benefits from Okra.

You can just simply boil the okra, when it is cooked you remove it from the water, just make a dip soy sauce, tmatoes and calamansi😊 patola is sauted with miswa, just lije soup. Upo, is sauted you can add some leafy vegetables.😊

Some soak Okra in water and drink it. I think it's good for blood sugar. Basically you can cook them just by sautéing with onion, salt and ground pepper. You can cook vegetables with fresh coconut milk too. 😊
Cooking for patula: sauté onion , fresh tomato, garlic. Put some ground beef or any meat then add 2 cups of water , let it boil then add miswa . Just ask any pilipino what is miswa . Add salt.
