I enjoyed this video because you shared my frustration but to save everyone else this frustration, just call customer service. Got it done in less than 2 minutes lol
The battery it comes with only lasted 2 days tops for my daughter.
Maybe because she loves using it. Rechargeable batteries are a godsend.

Hi! When we have received it, placed in the batteries and it started working. We did not download anything. Well i tried but gave up too early. I thought by downloading the software, the device would do more. So I am not sure now if i should keep trying to download it or we were so lucky that we have received the little laptop all set up??? :)
It wouldn't connect to the computer. Called costumer support. They told me my device was innoperable and there was nothing they could do. Terrible waste of money. It was past 90 day mark of purchase so they would not refund us.
So is hooking this up to the computer a one time thing?
I wish it came with a built in rechargeable battery.
Thanks for the review. It is very helpful indeed. I hear the accent on your device isn’t American. Was there an option while downloading the audio content to select the English accent?
Hiya, I think there was an English (UK) option when I first set it up? Can't quite remember now but books automatically download with the British accent.

How does the audio thing work? If I install those things online where do they go?
Do I need to download the software or can i just slide in a book and go?
I had trouble downloading companion audio and almost gave up. I updated my windows 10 and voila! It worked right away. No fuss!
In my case, it pops up in the computer that the book's audio has already installed but after I removed my leapstart device, it still say "Ask your parent chuchu.."
I’m using my iPad and haven’t figured out how to get the audio and video download. I bought and extra set of books, those few aren’t connecting. I got the two books that came with it to work. Ugh annoying.
I'm about to toss mine across the room. JUST BUY AN I PAD AND ENJOY LIFE.

I am hoping I have luck. I have tried for a few hours installing and uninstalling. I was thinking maybe it’s because I have a Mac but you do too. Let’s hope this works for us. Crossing fingers here.
how did it go
So far, the only thing that has worked despite downloading the Connect software without too much difficulty is the book that comes with the complete Leap Start 3 D kit. None of the other add on audio books were readily searchable or even able to be located whether logged in or not. I'm ready to return this $100 purchase and buy a normal educational tool such as a computer or laptop. Save your money and time, don't buy it.
Even a call to technical support results in no resolution as they are only open during standard working hours where I have no intention of taking this device to work or taking time out of my work hours to trouble shoot it.
We love ours too but still have the battery issue, it dies on us all the time. We got version for older kids and it is much better. It turn itself when not used and it saves the battery life.
So strange! We burned through first set of batteries in no time at all but the second set are still going strong! Thanks for watching x
How long does your battery lasts my daughter has started using leapstart3d and in 10dats we have used 3sets of duracell batteries is that even normal or should i getit exchange
I think if you don't turn it off after you are done using it...it will stay on and drain the battery. We have the one for older kids and that one turns off automatically
Mostly i turn it off when she is done using it and if not it turns off on its own but i guess need to get some dozen of batterries

Solid review.... but it makes me wonder, if we had lost the war would we all speak with a british accent in america?
When they trace letters, numbers, ect if they do it wrong will it tell them it's wrong?
It gives them hints ! She talks about it at the 8:00 mark!
I am still trying, it is going on 3 hours & nothing popped up on my screen saying there was a problem it just doesn't connect installed uninstalled the leapfrog connect. still waiting hoping it goes on eventually, tried different computers ughhhhh not happy with leapfrog :(
Mine definitely didn't take that long! You must be ready to throw it out of the window by now!! There are some suggestions on the leapfrog website but other than that I don't know what to suggest sorry X www.leapfrog.com/en-us/support/faq/device-not-communicating
I am from RUSSIA. My American neighbor has given me Leapfrog pad but i can't connect it. It has no charge. What shall I do?
I'm not really an expert in these things sorry. If it has no charge then try new batteries. Hope it works out.
at this trying to setup nonsense for 5 hrs and I don't even get to hear sounds arrrrrgggggggg! now i wish i never showed my son this birthday gift without trying to set it up first. He's now going to cry and beg me for it again in a couple of hours. I'm off to get a least 3 hours sleep before he or the newborn wakes up
That's crazy! Do you at least get sounds when it turns on? Wish I had an answer but all I can suggest is uninstall everything & start again but leave it to think for ages (I'm sure you've done that about 8 times already but it's all I can think of!) Hope it works out xx

Oh nooo!! Is it the computer connection problem? My only solution was to ignore the error message and leave it til it fixed itself, it's worked for me every time so I'm not sure else to suggest. Fingers crossed for you x
@@Mumblemum I've tried everything turning off the Leapfrog and turning it back on nothing I've watched you're video over and over and I can't get it to work at all.
@@tashadenney7 what a nightmare! Only thing I can think is do you have access to a different computer you could try it on? Otherwise maybe it's faulty? Sorry I can't be more helpful x
All I can do is try it and see if not then I've gotta take it back to Walmart.
