- a response to comments and thanks to the Jeremy Vine show and Storm Huntley for details that do not seem to appear elsewhere and put Farage's points into perspective...In a brief interview for channel 4, Farage claims to exist in an 8-day week and to work 7 days. I am impressed: it is a faintly theological construct.

Maybe that person should ask Farage to apologize for the many many times that he has been wrong and told lies.
Why would he? Being able to lie consistently is not a negative trait in his world. He's payed well to do it.

You can be pretty much assured that Farage is always wrong
Farage is deliberately controversial. I don't think he believes a word he says. It's all about self promotion. He doesn't care about being right or wrong. It's all a jolly old game to him.
@jasonc5413 just like his best buddy the orange moron!
I expect some Reform wag will come up with the idea that because the Roma came from the Punjab originally, they are subcontinental - so Nige was right after all. Well, maybe about subcontinental, but if they're part of "subcontinental politics" it's the politics of the 14th century - so he's as wrong as ever.
The more Farage is interviewed on TV the more we can see that he is totally out of his depth.
Farage doesn't really care if he's right, he just says these things knowing his faithful will hang on his every word and bend over backwards to believe it's true. Then the followers will repeat what he's said and anyone trying to correct them is just trying to put their Nige down and that they are the underdog fighting for 'truth' which it usually is far from.

@@urbanimage In Westminster he will find out he is a very small fish surrounded by professional sharks. The establishment will black ball him. He will begin waving his docket trying to get the speakers attention, only to be kicked into touch and told his place. You don't get regular questions with 4 seats. Farage had second worst attendance as MEP .
748 out of 751.(One is disregarded as they NEVER turned up!) He never once tabled a formal question. He had £35k clawed back as he'd used EU money to pay someone not involved in EU work. He gets a £71k pension from EU for that

He never attended the fisheries group either.
He just took the money and did nothing for the people he was meant to represent .
I think more people need to know this!
I think Brits are technically paying for his pension, not us on the EU side. If I recall correctly, it was something negotiated in the Withdrawal Agreement.

I would have time for Farage if he told the truth which he does not, plus his supposed commitment to free speech is non existent in that for him and indeed for Reform it’s either their way or nothing.
You say that Farage's supposed commitment to free speech is non existent, yet there is an active movement from the left to suppress his voice, and destroy him. Which really begs the question: Are we truly a democratic nation?

It is amazing that Farage can continue to attack South Asians broadly while having a Pakistani Muslim as his chairman (and primary donor) and formerly having a Pakistani immigrant as his deputy.
Why does nobody ever point these bizarre contradictions out?
The nonsense and confusion has to be part of it somehow.
there's nothing contradictory about it. just because farage points out the obvious issues a large number of pakistani and bangladeshi people present, should mean that he's not allowed to employee or work closely with a person of the aformentioned heritage?

No, Sri Lankan Muslim. Think you are thinking about Ben Habib from Pakistan who is no longer the chair.
@@jessrabbit1877 It doesn’t make any sense: if they’re the problem, why have them in the party in public positions of power?
This appears to be power for the course. Any opportunity to blame Muslims. Facts not necessary. Farage is absolutely wrong. He knows nothing about Gipton and Harehills. It’s a diverse community, with good community cohesion.
He knows nothing, but that is his preferred mindset. He closes ignorance over truth. Farage basically is a nasty piece of work.

The "Sub-continent" ??? Doh .. the one colonized by the UK ??? If the Pakistanis or the Indians are so bad, why did the British colonize them ? Or did they become bad ? When you colonized them ? meaning that you messed up the colonization of the sub-continent by you the UK ? Anyway, you can only blame yourselves and therefore you MUST leave those people YOU colonized ... ALONE ...
The word is "colonised". It means somewhere being taken over by large numbers incomers. That never happened in the subcontinent. Hardly any Brits went there. Guess where fits that profile now?
@@davidboult4143 Dear oh dear...
@@boota1979 the population of the subcontinent rose from about 200 million in 1872, to nearly 320 million by 1921. The maximum number of Brits during the "Raj" was around 40 thousand civilians, and 80 thousand military. That is not being colonised. Read a dictionary.

The Romani, colloquially known as the Roma , are an ethnic group of Indo-Aryan origin
Indo-Aryan peoples are a diverse collection of peoples speaking Indo-Aryan languages in the Indian subcontinent.
So they were from the subcontinent.

Using your logic he could have claimed they are Africans, after all we all originated from there. Bit desperate the Roma left India a thousand years ago, they been in Eastern Europe over 400 years.
It is rather naïve to think that Farage was elected in Clacton to deal solely with local issues and that if he spends a day or two away, that that shows him to be letting his constituency down. Or is that really what you believe? Being located across the ocean does not prohibit him giving his opinion. Dozens and dozens of MPs do this frequently. Bear in mind that there was a riot by a sizable group of Bangladeshi immigrants in London over a political matter that took place thousands of miles away in Bangladesh at the VERY same time as the Harehills riot. Disorder of a subcontinental nature, one might say. You accused Farage of "inflaming tensions" in your previous post. I saw lots of tension and flames in those Harehills videos, none of them caused by Farage. I think over four million people have stood up and said that they are not going to just sit back like a lot of lily-livered wet lettuces and turn the other cheek, sing "Don't Look Back in Anger", or leave it up to inept politicians and the police to tread carefully so "not as to offend anyone". It's amazing how Farage lives rent free in so many people's heads, like those economic migrants we taxpayers are footing the bill for, also living rent free. I don't really like the guy and never voted for his party, but he's more likely to come up with a damn solution than these wets who just turn a blind eye, or refuse to discuss the subject with any meaningful intent or ACTION.
What a lot of words to say you don't like people that aren't your ethnicity or think like you.

@@cmdrvex No, he didn't say that 'not liking him and not voting for his party makes you an apologist for Farage.' You clearly are an apologist for him - whatever your views on him and his appalling party.
Why do you think he is interested in facts?
Of course Farage is wrong (he invariably is and has turned out to be), Wilson has nothing to apologise for and has indeed said so in the past when he's been wrong. But not often enough. That said, it's arguably as to whether or not Farage, by dint of being an MP, has a greater responsibility than Wilson when he comments and/or expresses an opinion. Anyone with a public forum (including Wilson) has a responsibility to present actual facts and not distort them using rhetoric, bias or bigotry. Farage knows that what he said, which is merely a soundbite, will be forgotten tomorrow however I'm convinced that the majority of the public see him for what he is. The worry is that 8m don't.
Sub continent is India, Pakistan and Bangladesh when I went to school !
Farage is right, along with Dr David Starkey who you may learn something from.
You never spend a couple of days with friends ?
It's first of all places COLONIZED by the British ...Like the French who colonized North-Africa and have migration from there, YOU have migration from the places YOU colonized ... Don't complain about the presence of those people ...
So what may be learnt from the Doctor, some grammar perhaps?
Can you tolerate Reform being funded and chaired by someone from that subcontinent?
@@williamwade641 it appears that riots started in Whitechapel, and Leeds, because of protests in Bangladesh, which were about the treatment of students, in Bangladesh. So, yes, indeed, politics of the subcontinent have indeed been imported here.
@@davidboult4143 You actually believe that, do you? It sounds extremely far fetched, not to say nonsensical.

No they are not , as ex-pats are only temporary residents that plan to return home. These people plan to be here for future generations.
@@TheWhitehawker If that's important to you then ok.. But I'm using it to describe groups of white people that form communities in foreign countries. The length of time an individual spends there is irrelevant to me. Most only come back in coffins, and the community they leave behind doesn't dissipate when they leave. An expatriate is still a migrant. More importantly, the white expatriate makes zero attempt to learn the language or culture or traditions of their host nation.
Roma Gypsies are WHITE. I'm not sure what they have to do with the subcontinent apart from the historical origin of Gypsies
