I follow you but try and memorise the chords if they are 7th jazz chords that I have given up trying g to memorise as there are too many which not only use major, minor but also flat 5, half diminished and full diminished. That’s 60 chords x three inversions equals 180 chords. So what is the best way to memorise them? Thanks.

Honestly id go one by one. I know it sounds super slow, but in 180 days, you would have them all memorized. Sounds like a long time, but if you zoom out and think about the grand scheme of your learning experience, it is not.

Like Kate Bush sings, don't give up. It's easy to learn these chords one step at a time. There are so many patterns that it's not that hard. And once you learn them, they are yours forever.

Hi again Ashley, I meant to say that it is the inversions of 7th chords (3 per chord) is the main challenge for me at my age 74 which causes frustration as I want to be able to play jazz standards. Any tips on that?

Ahhhh got it. Theoretically the same concept from the other video would apply :) however, jazz standards are not my expertise!
