I am 62 yrs old. When I was 3 the Clydesdales came to the Safeway in our little town. I got to sit on one and ride for few feet. One of my earliest and most cherished memories. They are magnificent!
They may be the Budweiser Clydesdales, but everywhere they go in the United States people come out and cheer and see them as an iconic American image. Always a thrill! Majestic.
If I ever won the big lottery, I would get a huge horse ranch and bring up Clydesdale 's love those beautiful beasts of course including the dalmatians!!!!
I had the privilege of seeing the Clydesdales in person back I Michigan many, many years ago. I still can't believe how beautiful these horses are. Thanks to the entire Budweiser support staff for the wonderful care you take of these magnificent animals. ❤❤
I agree with what you said about the Clydesdales being an iconic American image. Always a thrill ... majestic. I used to live a half-block from the route of the New Year's Day Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California, and I always loved loved loved seeing the Clydesdales in the Rose Parade every year for many years. Some years they did a driving demonstration at a nearby horse show ring two days before the parade. Wonderful. I wonder if they will appear in this year's Rose Parade after the huge advertising debacle scandal they had ... but I live in New York City now so I won't see them in their California appearance.
Me too!! A tear for their beauty & a tear for my Dad in Heaven--a big Cards fan & loved those beautiful horses. I got to see them once as well--for anyone who hasn't gotten to see them up close put it on your bucket list. 😉💞
Yes I get a lump in my throat for the poor horses and their docked tails. So glad the practice is banned in more civilized countries. So glad to see someone not supporting this disgusting spectacle for stupid spectators clapping away for it. Gosh some people are uneducated.
I know that driver has some hell-yeah arm muscles! Holding the reigns on 8 x 2000 lbs of horse?!! There’s so much behind this magnificent tradition!! Thank you!!
As well there’s a story to some of these beautiful animals. A couple came from my hometown. They wouldn’t be alive now. Their off spring would be there now🌷
Beautiful horses. Beautiful tradition. I get tears in my eyes when these great animals take the field or the street. They March in unison and they are so proud to be a Clydesdale. Thank you for posting.
Fire departments had Dalmatians to protect their horses and equipment from theft when they were fighting fires. Dalmatians aren't the friendliest dogs, especially with strangers.
I'm 62 yrs old & I saw the Clydesdales in a parade in StL. I was jumping up & down, clapping & crying like an 8 yr old boy! This was like 5 years ago 😂❤
@@joannekalish1020 As small kids our parents would take us to Grants Farm here in St Louis to see the Clydesdales. You could get right up next to them and pet them. Imagine a small child next to one of these gigantic horses. It gives you a new perspective on big. ;o)

Thank you, to the men and women who take care of, train, and hitch up these beautiful horses for this iconic drive around Busch Stadium every single opening day! I’m am planning a trip to opening day just once to see this in person.
The humans ruined it with the unnecessary realignment pulling !!!!! The horses were dead on track to start with !!!! Duuuuuh !!! Ok, on hindsight I must correct myself here !!! Realized that the realignment was indeed necessary to pull the rear off the wagon clear from the tunnel !!! But the driver could have done this in the fist place !! The horses just took the tight turn to the track ...just as the knew they were to be on !! Next time , just drive the drivers in to where you really need them to be !! Realignment sideways must have been hard for everyone !!!
It’ll be worth the trip. As a teen in Salmon, Idaho, they came to our rodeo. I’m in my 60’s now and remember how beautiful they are. I know now what a special treat it was for our small rather isolated town to be on their show route.
@@gathsfamily2866 Your correction is correct. The driver initiated the turn slightly too soon, and didn't want the wagon to scrape or get hung up on the corner of the wagon gate. The teams do not have a reverse...the handlers must do that. In essence, they needed to back up the wheel team first, then get the drive horses to back up, and then the lead or steering horses. The teams are taught this, along with other commands, and take commands readily.
Simply beautiful and awe inspiring! Nothing like a St. Louis Cardinals season opener with the majestic Clydesdales, the song and the Dalmatian doggy! What’s the doggie’s name! Can’t forget the drivers …… Play ball!
One of the dog's was named Barley. (I don't know if he is still around.) There are three teams of hitches, and dogs, that tour the US from different locations. Of course, this was likely the Missouri team.
Wonderful, as a child Clydesdales would pull the barrels of whisky to and from the local Distillery which means they had to pass by on the street I lived on. I loved watching them, still do and I adore all the Budweiser adverts. (Glasgow, Scotland here)
