I found Absol 2 star sleep today and hungry even better with 15mil drowsy power 😊 took it home too. It has cacao apples apples. I will put it on discord so you can grade. BTW I used a friendship inscense too
Ohhhh this was a revelation to me, I always had the impression that having a higher drowsy power means you'd get rarer mons, but I never went out of my way to ask. Now I get why you do naps that way, the first session should be the longer by a considerable amount so that you get the bonus biscuit and the "bigger bank". I was pretty much splitting the sleep score half and half, thus wasting a lot of the bank for the big spawns. Yeah, thanks.
Wow I'd essentially known this was how this works since the very beginning of the game but had trouble explaining it, especially since those DPR numbers weren't out and available like they are. I would always put it simply that if you are hunting a sleep style you should aim to get the rank that is about double what rank the one you want is unlocked at
It sounds like you can sleep depending on what youre looking. Say, if you want to unlock more sleep styles and get to lakeside , then 1 long sleep session might be best. On the other hand, for events like this valentines, im going for chickorita, a low dpr, so napping would give me better chances for, and more chickoritas. In vinnie's case, if he wanted to better his chances on absol, it would be best to do 1 long sleep session until his naps have a higher dp, which would be later in the week. Thanks for the video!!
Hence why Good Sleep Days are providing higher chances of encountering rare pkmn or even higher sleep style. Encountering Tyranitar at Master 6 with GsD boost for example.
This makes me want to grind out the same research area instead of trying out ones where I don't have a great team. Thanks for the helpful videos as always man!!!
A trick some people use is to use ezzz ticket at the end of week so you get big DP in one area but get to grow another area's area bonus. ++ users can also do this without even moving areas for the sleep research.
@@Bropenings sorry, could you go over the second part? I have a plus + but don't quite know what you mean by that. I think a video about that would be awesome! (unless you already made one! 😂) Thank you!!!
I didn't make a video to avoid getting it patched. Hopefully replying within comments section won't trigger alerts from the devs. On your last sleep session of Sunday, you can start tracking as normal on the ++ while still in the old area. Wait about 2 hours, then change areas in game using ezzz ticket. The area bonus when you wake up will be applied to new area, while you get Drowsy Power of the old area of when you started tracking sleep. The research area will be the old area. You want to wait approximately 2 hours to avoid any problems with desyncing of ++ and server since the ++ determines your time of sleep locally whereas server provides the DP of the time that happened. If you mess up and don't wait long enough you will get the DP of the new area (very low, maybe just 100 DP as the strength would be 1).
How does this impact additional spawns from incenses? Am I technically hurting the “rarity” of my other spawns when I use an incense, since that new spawn would contribute to the total drowsy power I have?
The research on incense spawn is very sparse. There have been some words that 4 star can spawn with incense from months ago, but more recently the reports have dwindled. Additionally several patches have come in during that time so any old data may not be applicable anymore. So whether incense can spawn 4*, and whether that 4* will inhibit your regular spawns from getting 4*, I have no idea.
So, if you wanted to hunt say Rattata, could you take a nap on Monday morning before even cooking breakfast and force a low Drowsy Power to make the game give you three of them? In theory this would work with whatever pokemon has the lowest DPR and Game ID on the island right? If Sleep style doesn't matter it looks like you could force Rattata on every island except Lakeside, where the lowest DRP and Dex# would be Ekans (assuming the Game ID and Pokedex entry are the same number). If the calculation does take Sleep Style into account we could have a few more options to try and force.
This could also be a way to farm some Rattata candy on Monday(or after using a travel ticket) if you need some to use for the quests or powering up, but it's probably not worth a spawn a week for like 9 candy. Maybe if you used an incense to catch and not waste the session.
Yes in fact this strategy was used before even DPR theory was discovered. Forcing minimal DP and slowing progression allowed some people to search for the perfect rattata and igglybuff at an early stage. Of course, it was at the cost of new sleep styles delaying progress in other parts of the game.
So a good habit should be in the morning to sincronize the pokemon go plus + after collecting all the berries and getting the extra strength of the night sneaky snacking and not when the app ask us when we open the game?
I'm not sure why you think that's better. I personally prefer to sync, but delay research so I can collect skills and ingredients. Then do research later. If you delay syncing you would get your energy later.
@Bropenings I mean yeah review later can be better as you do too, I never notice if when you review later start multiply the drowsy power to your current points or the points you had when you woke up! Let's say this morning i had 890k points when I woke ip but after the collection and breakfast I got 976k points, if I did the review 10 min later I would have got the extra difference of points in my spawns right? That what I was meaning but probably reviewing later does the same too I have to check this afternoon!
The session DP utilizes the strength from START of sleep. Whether you review later or not doesn't affect it. This is also why any berry strength gained via sneaky snacking on Sunday night's final sleep have no value at all. The sneaky berry that gets eaten by snorlax don't add to the DP when you wake up for the sleep research since it counts the strength at the start of sleep. Neither does the sneaky berry go to next week's snorlax. It just goes into a void.
Ok i can't get absol in a nap today then, not with a lot of luck, so im gonna do a full aleep session and move the phone "a lot" in hopes of getting dozing sleep type
Napping means more spawns which should mean more shiny chance though. And at very low DP it also means more candies (at high DP this may not be the case). I prefer to split my sessions about 2h and 6.5h so that I try to get the best of both worlds.
@@Bropenings I used to do close to 50:50 sleep score, because I always thought just getting to the rank requirement was enough to get them. was totally wrong ugh
@@ryushindai the good news about that is you get more choices to catch base evolutions. Which are great for ingredient and skills specialists. Large DP has a problem of spawning too much evolved versions that aren't good for ingredient/skill specialists.
This is a terrible mechanic 😢 At Great 2 you can spawn an Absol... if all your other spawns are the lowest possible pokemon (like all 1* Rats). You're not unlocking the sleep styleat Great 2 unless you have the worst luck possible, that's extremely deceiving
There's some drowsy power leeway between each tier so reaching bare minimum of great 2 isn't likely to spawn absol. But as you grow snorlax it becomes more possible. That is assuming you are doing 100 sleep score each session. If you split 50-50 then absol can become impossible to spawn at great 2.
Don't naps only let you get 1 bonus biscuit per day? Of course they're not good. lol Only unless you're hunting for low drowsy power Pokémon like Chikorita
There are still some advantages to naps like hunting base evolutions. I would prefer to catch a perfect dratini than a perfect dragonair. But you don't want to fall behind on completing sleep styles either since that's how you unlock new areas etc. I like to split my sessions 2h to 6.5h. So I get a bit of both worlds.
Drowsy Power should be maximized even if you can't reach the next snorlax tier.
