Haha damn. I remember last year I was looking all over fourms and through catalogs trying to find D17 bushings. Thanks for this video I just ordered some RSX ones off eBay.
I did the same thing found no info so I ordered them hoping they would fit and was happy to find out they did

Good to know with my factory shifter box was worn out so I went to Lowe’s and got some rubber grimmest and used those on the shifter box Cable Bushings it made the shifter really nice but not short just smooth

super dumb question, if 5th gear doesnt stay engaged or in gear will the shifter replacement fix it?
Shifter cable bushings AND base bushings all work with 01-05 D17, 02-05 SI, RSX, and the 1st gen TSX cars. I forget what else, but they may also fit crv/element, but I am merely guessing at this point

Hello sir can we just replace this entire shifter rod and use an ek short shifter rod and fit it into stock shifter box that you just replaced the entire one … can’t we simply add an ek short shifter rod to this box

Great video, i'll try to switch my shifter too. I live in Germany and just got an usa model em2 myself not long ago. When driving on the Autobahn here, i hear that a lot of d17's get fried from overheating, high oil temperature and they may blow the headgasket or a rod (+engine damage). Any idea how this can be fixed without doing a k-swap? Only thing i hear is that good synthetic oil and original honda coolant will help. But redlining it seems to kill it pretty fast after all..
Only thing I can recommend is upgrading the cooing system and hope for the best

So that clip that holds the linkage cable on your right where you were sitting at is it normal for it kinda being loose? I bought off the junk yard and the metal lil clip that clips back into the linkage I can hear it wiggle when I shift gears I didn't however take off the whole center console plz and thank you and nice vid on the 7th gen not to many 👍🏼
The horseshoe clip needs to be tight if it's loose then something is wrong

What year RSX are the bushings? Cause I've got a d17a1 and I bought a short shifter for it and I couldn't ever find any bushings for it anywhere. What other engines are compatible with d17's cause I can't find cam gears or cams or anything for d17 barely
Good luck there's not much aftermarkert support keeping it d17 everyone gonna say go k swap you just know what it is.
I found a k24a2 with 134k miles for 600$. I'm gonna jump on that and swap it out. My d17a1 has over 313,000miles so I gotta do something soon

@@alixs_life yes I got the ECU and hasport mounts and a new subframe. Slowly but surely I'm getting it all together
First off love the channel. I know you dont show changing the shift linkage bushing but after looking on ebay all I can find are 92-00 d series civic shift linkage bushing. Do you by chance know if this will fit an 05 es1?

@@PirateGarage I understand the rsx ones for the cable bushings I've found those. I meant the shifter linkage bar that is bolted underneath the car it has 2 bushings one is round and the other is long with 3 holes.
Stupid question. The rsx 6 speed shifter will work on a 5 speed transmission?
The shifter box in the car is compatible with 5 and 6 speed
Looking for a turbo manifold flange for my D17a vtec, all I found was one for a d17a1 non vtec are the ports the same on the heads or are they different? Thanks in advance

We have a k24 Frank with a roots sc, a k24 with rotrex sc, a k24 soon to be turbo, and a budget build so its staying sohc but I'm going to do somthing that hasn't been done to a d17 stay tuned
