- This is one of my all-time favorite songs, performed by one of Gospel Music's great singers - Doug Oldham. I just set it to a single picture, but couldn't find a copy of the song on RUclips. I ripped this from an old Vinyl some years back and here I share it with the world. Enjoy!

HELLO!!!! Under Lock Down...4/23/20....Anyone else listening to Doug, out there? Yep! The market places (malls) are empty! And this too shall pass! 💖M. Been listening to him since 1970....and NOW, I am 70! WOW! What a HOOT! STILL here,,,and someday HE is coming for ME!! PTL
Many years ago I had the great privilege of taking my family to hear Doug Oldham. My kids were spellbound. "He looks like Grandpa!...He walks like Grandpa!...oh, Mommy, he sings just like Grandpa!!" What a blessing he was'
Best rendition I’ve ever heard. Something about his voice so mellow.I am hooked on his singing for more than fifty years. His voice is unusual never heard a voice like him before.I also read his book how he surrendered his life to the Lord when it was in a mess. Thank God for using him even though he is in heaven. The spirit of God is still in his voice.
Doug and my mom and dad grew up together here in Dayton Ohio. Doug's father Dale Oldham was the pastor of the west 3rd st Church Of God. My dad and Doug sang duets together. His father also wrote a song that's in the Church Of God's hymnal, "Let Me See Jesus Only". He came to our church when I was five, 1965 and called my dad up to sing a few songs with him. The first solo I sang in church was "He Touched Me". A Gaither song Doug made famous. I think even Elvis sang it.
Thanks for the information about Dale Oldham, I tried to remember the song, 'Lt Me See Jesus Only'. I went to the Church of God in Akron for many years. In 1960 our church pickup three or four and took them to Houston for a youth convention. I lost count the number of time I head Doug sang. Thanks for sharing
Hi
IIn 1980, i was a struggling wildlife artist rooming with my agent. I was going through a rough spot spiritually. My agent had a bunch of christian music, including choir musicals with Doug Oldham. Id put a stack of albums on the record player, don my headphones and go to bed, listening to Dougs powerful voice and the awesomeness of Christ. They brought me out of my slump. Wish i could find those musicals on youtube.
His voice is perfect for this song.
In 1984, I was teaching at Temple Christian School in Mansfield, OH, and on a Saturdayin May, we went to Kings island. The Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet sang includingDoug Oldham and Robbie Hiner. What a great time we had singing for the Lord.
With everything going on in the world now I believe he's coming and I want to go home with him are king
What a blessing I Received To Attend A Live Concert Where Mr. Oldham Gave Standing Room only performance In 1985
Had the privilege to hear him while at Cedarville College, what an amazing concert. Praise God!
my family watched Old Time Gospel Hour faithfully; went out of our way to attend a Sunday service at Liberty Baptist in 1978!!!!

@Mrskellysgirl You're welcome! I too couldn't find a good copy anywhere and found this in my old files from when I transferred a lot of old gospel vinyl records from an old AM station to my computer. This is still my favorite version of this song.
Thank you, Casey !!!
The first time that I remember hearing Doug Oldhan sing was at the 1960 Church of God Youth Convention in Houston, Texas. Several time he came to Akron to sing for my church and at the youth camp meeting. Thanks for posting this great song.
I remember another verse I thought was in the version of this I had on an LP in 1975,
"All the railroad cars are empty
As they rattle down the tracks
In the newsroom no one watches
While machines type pointless facts
All the planes veer off their courses
No one sits at their controls
For the King of all the ages
Has cone to claim eternal souls"
Any one else remember this and was it Doug Oldham's album or am I remembering a different artist?
Kendall John yes I had that version and loved it.
Yes sir. The song was written by William J. Gaither, who was probably joined by his wife, Gloria, as in most of their music that they wrote. On the particular version that you shared, Mrs. Gaither does that recitation as she did with others over the many years. Next to He touched me, and Because He Lives, this is probably their best known song. God bless you as you walk with The Spirit of Christ Jesus according to His Holy Eternal Word as He promises to do if we only trust and obey.
I wish someone would put Doug's songs on CD....
If anyone has the album Have You Heard: The King Is Coming can you please download it a good copy of it.

I remember when I was first saved hearing this song. Oh! I am so glad that I was saved at the age of sixteen. Now I am sixty one and still praising God.
