@@arindambose9863 arey bhai what you are saying is what we all read in our history book. Problem with it is that it comes from Biblical time frame, not some solid logic. Story starts with William Jones, who was looking for Sandrokottos of Indika of Megasthenes, in Indian Puranik texts. There were two Chandragupta in it, which sounds similar to Sandrokottos, as you mentioned. If he would select the Gupta king, then the whole Purana timeline would predated Biblical age of earth (William Jones mentions it). Thus Chandragupta Maurya was selected, to keep it all post Biblical. Problem with this are many: - It is Sandrokottos, and not Sandrokottos Morious or something - Chanakya/Vishnugupta has no memory of Alexander or Yavana/Greek, even though he was prolific writer and lived well before and beyond Chandragupta Maurya. - In Indica, son of Sandrokottos is Amitrochates. Whereas son of Chandragupta Maurya is Bindusar. Son of Chandra Gupta on other hand is Samudra Gupta, which is vocally close to Amitrochates. The imaginary Amitraghāta is created to fit the theory. - There are kings and kingdoms that Alexander encountered, all are close to Gupta dynasty, not Maurya dynasty.
