When i think about Iraq .. it's home... i was 9 years old when that war started. My birthday is in March. So i turned 10 during that war. My father was in the iraqi Army. We gave everything up, and left our country. We left everything we knew and the only place on earth that we knew. We left at night. Almost 19 years now after that night. I still remember like it was last night. I still see nightmares here and there about what i saw at that war, after that war and whatever nightmares my brain gets. I will never get over this war. It might be a part of someones duty there or so. This was MY LIFE, and it got destroyed, because of oil greed! How disgusting humans can be. It's sad.
Well, let me be the sole objector to all the negativism about Iraq. Iraq was a necessary war from the point of view of the larger struggle against radical Islam. This struggle began long before 9/11, and is still ongoing. What Iraq should have opened the world's eyes to was the throwback moral depravity of the Arab-Muslim world, its inability to look forward or to compromise. Tribal and sectarian concerns always trump national ones, and they would prefer to tear their own country to pieces than unite to rebuild it. Arrogance takes precedence over humility and pragmatism, and raw power is the only currency which is recognized and respected. Men like Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden were the natural product of their parent culture. This is an embarrassing truth which the Arab world refuses to acknowledge, and seeks to blame others for. Any war on terrorism--Islamic terrorism in particular--must be fought in the heart of its own region. This was the true reason for the invasion of Iraq.
