Picked up my new CVO ST (white) last week with stock intake and Khrome Werks 2-1 Outlaw Eclipse with SE tuner. My Dyno numbers to the wheel were 130HP and 142 TQ track mode. Very happy camper.
Got my gearhead juices flowin wit diss one. Lots of options out there that blow away the CVO line up. And for considerably less cash. Good job buddy. I'm rootin fer ya!
I'm feeling pretty good about my 2023.5 CVO Street Glide in Dark Platinum. I have Khrome Werks slip ons and that is all I have done to it. I was impressed with the 121 VVT and the power band when I test drove it. I traded in a 2020 SG 107 standard with a stage 2 with a lot of mods many of which I got from your channel such as the Dark Horse Man of War Compensator. It was doing 95 hp and 110 lbs. of torque. When I test drove the 121 VVT it felt like it was a lot faster and the suspension was way better. I also have enjoyed the increased gas mileage. I am averaging over 50 miles a gallon. At 72 I don't go as fast as I used to. I love this video it answered some questions that I was very curious about. Thanks again for the great video!
Can’t wait to see the dyno numbers for the CVO ST when they can tune them with a good cam. I’m guessing we will see 135-140 hp, 140-150 tq with a solid stage 2 build. I’m interested to see the comparison of cost between the upgrades on your bike vs the CVO ST. We need the prices that touque custom cycles would charge the average guy off the street for the upgrades you have done. I’m sure if you paid full price for all your upgrades you would have to be around the same price as the CVO st, maybe even a little more. Great content. Keep it coming!
Great video!! Last year I bought my CVOVVT And then the next year the CVOST came out and I was somewhat regretting, not waiting. Now, seeing this video keeps me satisfied!!
The CVO VVT stock air filter is a choking point for that bike. Put a wedge filter on there and you'll gain about 7hp. Also the CVO VVT should have been tested in the custom mode with all parameters set to max which is the same as the track mode on the CVO ST.
Man Black Jack is looking so magnificent. I love what you did with the bike. Please don't stop making Harley Content. This is the first vlog I have ever seen where they pull numbers from each mode. Top notch.
I have a '23 RG standard with the 107. It has now the 129 S&S big bore kit. Exhaust is 4" Vance and Hines 2-2. Has a Thundermax tuner. My bike has NOT been dyno'd, but a bike with the same ugrades dyno'd at 133hp, and 153 torque. The cam that comes with that kit is the S&S 550. Valve springs brings the compression up to over 11:1, and has 5.0 injectors. Like I said, my bike wasn't dyno'd, but the other bike just like mine was. I just love those S&S big bore kits.
Great review. Was also surprised at the lower cvo st numbers. Guess I’ll be keeping my 2022 road glide st 117 with a stage 2 making 127/137. I think for future builds on the newer bikes it might make more sense to get a standard and do a stage 2. Thanks for sharing.
If you are buying a CVO for power only you've already wasted your time and money. The CVO is more than just additional horsepower over the standard version.
Thanks John. This an awesome series. I’m looking forward to the rest of the vids. One thing I think would be really helpful to point out in this series is for newer riders to consider their current riding style and how that may change over the next few years. If you can afford the up front cost of either CVO and that fits what you want to accomplish over the time you have that bike, then go for it. However, if you want your bike to grow with you and your evolving needs and wants, then get the base 117 and upgrade as needed. I think we would potentially all agree the only thing you need to change out the gate is the windscreen followed by the radio if you want to hear your music on the highways. Again, this is just my two cents. Be safe y’all. 😎
Great video John! I ride my bikes daily not sure I would notice 7+ horsepower and 8 to 10 ft lbs of torque. The 2024 CVO ST is a beautiful bike. I personally don't have that kind of money so I have to buy a less expensive bike and build it which is a whole lot of fun but takes time and money. Lol I think it still costs a ton of money in the end no matter which way you go but a bike you build has your preference and touches which makes it special.
Excellent video John. I love all three bikes they are all beautiful. My favorite still is a CVOST love these kind of videos with the Dyno runs and comparisons. Keep bringing them to us. what I thought was interesting sport mode and track mode on the CVO ST are practically the same
great information in here, thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! may i ask, if possible to do some sort of comparison of suspension between stock, the shocks you installed on blackjack, and the cvo ST? thank you
for me the max figures don't mean much, especially when rev limiters are involved. What's more interesting is the shape of the torque curves. How early they develop good torque and overlaying the best curves of each shows a meaningful comparison of how each bike behaves in the real world. thx for the vid.
Oh hell yes!! This is going to be an interesting video ... 👍👍 I don't feel so bad now, these HD's are still playing in the same ballpark as my stock 2018 Goldwing with a K&N high-flow air filter as BT Moto Stage1 ECU tune.
Lol John come on stop brother the screaming Eagle exhaust sounds like shit lol Torque custom cycles is the bomb !!! Mike I got my car play thank you!!!
Are you sure the VVT had a stage 1 tune? I have seen a number of the VVT with slip ons and air clearers with out the Screaming Eagle tune. I talked with a salesman in Boise about the VVT and he told that the ECM will adjust for both with out the tune. On another channel D&K Customs they put on an air cleaner and slip ons and checked the air fuel ratio and it was good w/o the tune. That's why I asked if you are sure he did the screaming eagle tune. Thanks for the information great video. My son has the 2024 Road Glide ST CVO and since they use the same motor with some changes I was curious as to how they compare.
Awesome video and review John!! To me, like I have said, your bike, Black Jack is BETTER!! LOOKS BETTER , SOUNDS BETTER , and it is set up PERFECTLY!! No need to drop 40+ grand , when you can upgrade at a fraction of the cost. Blck and chrome, Blue and chrome , Red and chrome..everything looks great with chrome lol!! Great video as always!! Looking forward to the next one. Always ride safe brother 🇺🇸💯🤘🏻
I had my 2024 HD RG CVO ST Dyno last weekend and I pulled a 125/147, have the trask assault 2 into 1 and everything else is stock. HD SE Tune. Dyno was on Sport Mode. Not Track A.
Blackjack for me. Having the motorcycle modded to fit me is one of the best part. Blackjack has thr balance has ur flavor on it, and has decent power. 7-10 hp is nothing when we are street riders. Blackjack gives you power and looks which is sexy lol.
Thank you ever since I seen your stage 1 upgrade video I’ve been dying to know the true power gains vs buying an older M8 model and putting 5k into the engine
Do you know the weight difference between the 3 bikes? Just curious if that would be a factor in felt performance? And are the gear ratios different? A bikes felt performance may not all be directly related to just horsepower and torque maybe? Interesting comparison though
The stock air cleaner makes a big difference on stock vs. aftermarket air cleaner. That's why the 117 stage one did so much better than the cvo bikes. I've seen videos where they tested it, and it was about a 9 -10 hp and torque difference
John, that was really interesting! Those numbers suggest that if you put the $4 grand for a full Stage II (with a high-lift Cam) into your $28 grand (stock) bike, you would still come in $16 grand below the CVO ST and your performance would be considerably better: My '19 Stage II Softail Deluxe (no ride modes) M107 was dyno-ed at 99 HP and 112 pound-feet. How much more would the 117 make? Wow!!!
My 2024 RG std with a Bassani Road Rage Short 2-1, Wedge A/C, and S.E Tuner made 106HP, and 123TQ. The bike only has the 2-1 exhaust, SE wedge A/C, and stage 1 tune, everything else is stock.
Can you figure out how much it cost for inverted front forks and Piggyback rear shocks added to both a standard Road Glide stage 1 , and also on the CVO VVT to see not only HP and Torque costs but also it takes to build it to a stock out of the box 121 CVO H.O stock
why the regular and the ST has the better filter (air flow) than the vvt cvo? If you get a better breather i believe we would see a different result. Stage one as i know is exhaust, filter, tuner, and dyna tunned.
Next month my factory warranty expires, and I would like to upgrade my 2022 Road Glide ST117, I’m between S&S 475 Star 30/30 SE torque Cam I looking for more torque. What do you recommend?
Just goes to prove that you can put a good cam in a 114 and get the same or better power for less money than what it's worth to buy these expensive bikes.
Picked up my new CVO ST (white) last week with stock intake and Khrome Werks 2-1 Outlaw Eclipse with SE tuner. My Dyno numbers to the wheel were 130HP and 142 TQ track mode. Very happy camper.
Great Numbers, Heck Yeah.
Now we need to stage 1 the ST.... we all know the ST comes choked up. Let her breathe and the numbers should jump.
Mine made 126/132 Sawicki exhaust and SE Tuner….. ready for a cam and thundermax tuner next
@@L8Brakers exactly...💪
But for price difference the standard route makes more sense.

Zippers has a video out and you are pretty spot on…. They got 134hp/141tq. Mine with a SE tuner and Sawiciki made 126/132.
@@L8Brakersyou got great numbers for just a pipe and tune. I’m waiting for the 2025 CVO st to come out and that will be my next bike.
@L8Brakers is there a video link to that?
@@Urfavgirl_Avani just go look up their 532 cam and there is a video

Totally agree
Good video ,CVO ST still has the better components from show room floor.
Thanks for the dyno, really interesting results.
Would be nice if he overlaid the best run from each of the three bikes on one graph so we can compare the curve, not just peak numbers
Put a stage 1 on the CVO ST, and the numbers will jump a lot!
100%
Should be comparing apples to apples. The stock air box has so many restrictions , and both CVOs had stock air boxes.
Man Black Jack is looking so magnificent. I love what you did with the bike. Please don't stop making Harley Content. This is the first vlog I have ever seen where they pull numbers from each mode. Top notch.
Awesome video. All done on the same Dyno so there is very little to dispute

What cam did you go with?
The new CR-480MT cam.
If you are buying a CVO for power only you've already wasted your time and money. The CVO is more than just additional horsepower over the standard version.
I totally agree! The CVO is a whole different riding experience.
The CVO VVT and ST has a weight difference, so that's why the ST feels probably feels faster.
Thanks awesome video man!

Love your bike, but the only thing I would change, is the TANK EMBLEM! I think there is much better looking! My honest opinion...
I agree with you, there are some cool ones out there for sure!
Great Video!
I certainly don't consider the stock air cleaner on the vvt to be high flowing. Wonder how it would have done with the wedge on it.
A big difference
Oh hell yes!! This is going to be an interesting video ... 👍👍

For stock exhaust sounds good
My ‘23 street glide has a stage 2 and makes 127hp &134 tq. So glad I didn’t wait for the’24 models!
what cam and exhaust do you have? My ‘23 sg st makes 119/130, maybe it’s because I have a flame tune though

I just put a zipper 528 and thunder max tuner and a 2-1 Rinehart on my 2024 Road glide standard . No dyno yet but it is fast I had a 128 in 2020
Thank you ever since I seen your stage 1 upgrade video I’ve been dying to know the true power gains vs buying an older M8 model and putting 5k into the engine
I have a 24 CVO VVT and a ST pulled up beside wanting to flex. He never saw the front of bike and I will keep it as that.
Do you know the weight difference between the 3 bikes? Just curious if that would be a factor in felt performance? And are the gear ratios different? A bikes felt performance may not all be directly related to just horsepower and torque maybe? Interesting comparison though
I do not
Just Chrome Works slip ons with the Screaming Eagle tuner will be a better comparison.
John the SE tuner is $450 not $200. Just saying.
I would just get standard which I did lol and just do add ons to it and everything and enjoy and save alot of money to
I think Blackjack looks better than the CVO ST.
Thanks
Wow!!!
Hey you need to call JD and talk to him about the ECM options he has. Try that on your 117.
Sounds like downplaying the cvo st, the others having a stage 1 is a big deal. Put a stage 1 on the cvo st then compare.
Seems like your paying for the better suspension and some carbon fiber instead of power on the ST
My 2024 RG std with a Bassani Road Rage Short 2-1, Wedge A/C, and S.E Tuner made 106HP, and 123TQ. The bike only has the 2-1 exhaust, SE wedge A/C, and stage 1 tune, everything else is stock.
Interesting
And John you only had a 117 compared to both 121
Please post the dyno sheets so we can read them and see the lines clearly for all three bikes. There is more to reading a dyno sheet than max numbers.
#1 blackjack 👍. Black and chrome or take it home ✌️
Are the heads on the st different than on the standard?
Can you figure out how much it cost for inverted front forks and Piggyback rear shocks added to both a standard Road Glide stage 1 , and also on the CVO VVT to see not only HP and Torque costs but also it takes to build it to a stock out of the box 121 CVO H.O stock
I don't see where the cvo style is worth it, when you can buy a regular one, and make it your own for less and have a better bike
why the regular and the ST has the better filter (air flow) than the vvt cvo? If you get a better breather i believe we would see a different result. Stage one as i know is exhaust, filter, tuner, and dyna tunned.

I looking for more torque. What do you recommend?
So the CVO ST is limited at 120mph compared to the stock 117 motor that is limited at 112mph?
Yes
Stage 2 the cvo st
Less HP, let’s get a better ride and handling. 😎
hopefully thats the old license plate lol
So out of the box a stock Indian Challenger (with no mods) is overall better from a hp/tq aspect lol. These numbers are sad
Saddlemen seat adds 10 HP, Just sayin' 😂
Just goes to prove that you can put a good cam in a 114 and get the same or better power for less money than what it's worth to buy these expensive bikes.
All on motorcycles the weigh in at 900lbs. Please don’t try racing a 1 liter sport bike. Your heart will be as broken as your wallet.
I have a litre bike
Still not a CVO!!!!!!!
Lol
CVO ST like to see just D&D 2:1 billet Cat big bore with and without wrap around the baffle
