I happened upon her in Spotify somehow, I can't remember, but it didn't matter. Immediately I fell in love with the music and the poetic words formed by her warm voice. Later I discovered she sang with Damien Rice, and then realized why her voice sounded not only lovable but strangely familiar. I never knew or looked up her name for years listening to his songs, just felt so glad he blended her feminine sensitivity to his already touching work. I'm not in love with every one of her songs, but I have a playlist of about 10 which touch some place inside me that always sends goosebumps down my skin. I can only lean back in my chair and let the pleasure of such talented music and empathetic expressions take over me. Even on the first listen, as the songs progressed, they did exactly what I dearfuly anticipated and hoped they would at each turn - a shift in bass chord, violins or piano, or some lovely horn comes forth, sending a flood of impeccably called-for warmth in just that moment. There's a lot of music I like in the world, but these certain songs of hers that I have saved are among my most cherished. Thank you Lisa Hannigan and all accompanying talent.
@eksplosyon Is it a map of one particular city? The maps show where I wrote the record. It's a mix of Dublin, New York and a village in West Cork. So the front and back covers are those three places melded into one.
@eksplosyon You hand-stitched the album artwork for Sea Sew. Did you create the artwork for Passenger as well? Yes. I wanted to do something to do with maps, and I wanted to move away from the sewing. So the images are actually maps that I perforated in paper and then put them over a lightbox so my friend could photograph them.

The line saying I flew my colours like a sail is the most powerful line in the song because it describes her personality in contrast to the dull nonchalant personality of her lover. It shouldn't be named anything other than a sail because it gives it more meaning.
