Because the two houses above it on Castellammarre were condemned in the early 90s after the hill eroded and starting buckling the homes, the city was pumping water from underneath causing the slide and they settled with the homeowners. That land was considered too risky to build on. BTW the house to the right of that used to be owned by Alan Napier, the Butler in the Batman and Robin TV series.
Hi there - this was my neighborhood - I lived on Posetano on the Sunset side of the landslide. Would you be willing to email / dropbox a copy of video please?
Population of California is 39,431,263 and the population of Canada is 41,4 million, mind boggling 🤯 They are packed in there ( California) tight, claustrophobic vibes and on top of each like that ( landslides.. l would be very nervous walking around there.
Incredibly he stopped at a tree stump, went back down and on the other side stopped again where firetrucks were, that was the one block I wanted to see. Thanks nonetheless.
@ my old house was on the ocean side and was one of the houses torn down after landslides in the 80s. I've been in 17929 a million times, was owned by the Joyner family in the 70s/80s, was completely redone with the pool in the back. Sorry for your loss.
Thank you for running those hills! Its been helpful to see the aftermath of my neighborhood
Super helpful video.. thank you. If you make more, can you please show the street signs or announce the street.
I join everyone in thanking you so much for running through our neighborhood with your camera!
Thank you
Posetano looks to be the lucky little street in the neighborhood. Thank you for posting this video.
Thank you for posting this. I grew up there, and this is the only Castellamare footage I,'ve found.
I have shared with a few. You did a public service a time of need and mourning
Interesting why no one was able to build on this parcel. Min.25:10?

@ I grew up on the 17900 block in the 70s and 80s. Between landslides and fires it's all gone now.
@@WingsOfDay was it 17929? Than was our house. Crazy neighborhood but nowhere else like it.
