Shin Godzilla isn't a malicious villain he is a misunderstood creature in constant agony, he does not want to kill, he is only defending himself, if he understood his actions, he wouldn't do them, in Shin Godzilla the Monster isn't the Villain, the Radioactive waste that was handled poorly by us caused him to be made, he shouldn't be smiling, he should be crying
the doctor that was researching shin godzilla hated japan, after he went missing the beast went to attack. its believed that the doctor merged with shin godzilla, thats why in the atomic breath scene you can hear the lyrics say that even shin godzilla doesn't know why its doing whats it doing
