I've spiritually grown up on Adam Young's music and when I listen to his songs , I fall in love with it again and again. His new albums aren't exceptions. I know that Adam creates music in order to share with us his view on this world, on the world-famous situations in particular. This is not just music, not just melody - this is the whole story retold by Adam! Thank you for review!
Same here! Honestly.. I've found that I love anything Adam does. All of his albums are my favorites (I mean it) and all of his side projects I ADORE and when I'm in certain moods for certain aesthetics I run to them very quickly. I was introduced to Adam in 9th grade and spent my entire high school career using his music as inspiration for my drawings, my characters, my stories, and my actual life (both spiritual and in general). He has inspired me to be the person I am today and he CONTINUES to do so. These scores were like sketches in a sketchbook for him but ALSO fulfilling a dream of his he had always desired to do.
What's mind blowing is that "She's Going, Boys" is a call back to not only Windsor Airlift's "A Lovely Wedding, Snow and Sky", but ALSO Port Blue's "In The Yacht"!
fox x in my opinion it is. There was only three tracks I liked on Midsummer Station, while there was around five I liked on Mobile Orchestra. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not defending it! However, even if you hate everything about MO, there is still less of it to hate.
I hadn’t listened to these at all because I didn’t think they’d be my thing, but I’m loving them now I’m giving them a listen, really atmospheric at times and I think it goes to show how creative he can be when he wants to be. When you said the temper trap instead of the pilot I was thinking g I’d have to give it a listen and I got that reference right away haha very similar.
“Up with the Stars” is Adam Young’s take on the song “Battle Cry of Freedom”. It’s a extremely well-known Civil War song, it hasn’t got anything to do with the song Loch Lomond and Adam didn’t write it.
The "Adam Young Scores Project" is simply amazing! Adam is such a great composer, let's say for me he redeem himself after "Mobile Orchestra". My 3 fav scores are: Apollo 11, Project Excelsior and Voyager 1
Have you listened to Color Therapy? It's Adam young's secret side project that he hasn't officially claimed for some reason but it's been proven by others that it is him. It also has some reworked port blue tracks on it.
I was literally just about to post a comment about Color Therapy! "Mr Wolf Is Dead" is one of the most amazing albums I've ever come across, and I think it might actually be Adam's magnum opus. I'm always a little hesitant to talk about it, in case Adam would rather we didn't spread the word... but if he remained anonymous just to keep the project out of the public eye, then I don't think he would mind his dedicated fans knowing about it. Some of the tracks from the Adam Young Scores project, especially from "The Ascent of Everest", sound almost exactly like Color Therapy.
Not bad...not bad. I agree with most of the points you made! Although I have to confess, I could honestly listen to Adam making fart noises with his hands, screaming in the background, with some synth over top of it all and still LOVE It. haha I don't think there is a single track Adam has ever made that I haven't enjoyed in some sort of way (and I mean songs from ANY project involving Adam...even Swimming With Dolphins). Maybe it's because I'm an INFP as Adam is and I can certainly understand his creative process and writing style XD There's a certain sort of magic that he has in his music, even the "bad" stuff. He pulls inspiration from so many different genres and places and I noticed that when he pulls inspiration from places that are more mainstream and well-known, people tend to think he is selling out or that he's lost the magic, when he's really just creating a sound that is further from the unique one he normally adapts/creates. Aside from that, though I agree with everything you said pretty much(my only real, and biggest complaint about this video is just... why curse in the video when you are gonna beep it out? Why not just... not cuss and you won't have to worry about editing it out??). As a side fact, when I had a terrible case of the flu, Ocean Camp and Astroid Belt on repeat were the only things that helped me go to sleep, which I think says a lot about the power within Adam's music.
I haven't listened to all of these yet, but I really need to get on it. You've made me very excited to listen to it. I love how intelligent your reviews are, and I always enjoy hearing your opinion. What did you think of Adam Young's Sky Sailing project?
We have the same top two scores! Although, my third favorite would have to be The Endurance, knocking The Spirit of St. Louis down to #4 on my list. But it was close!
Did you know that Adam has a youtube channel? It's called Adam Young and the only video on his channel is called "layering custom samples in logic" and it's a section from shackleton (i think). It's really interesting
Sorry, The Skybridge is not actually an official name, since, that Port Blue album was not officially released and it's believed that was from another totallydifferent Album Adam decided not to share with us.
astronautamanda Probably not, I always find review vids on single songs a bit unnecessary ... I'll probably wait till the album is out and review it all then :)

i agree he's newer owl city stuff isn't good at all. but he kills the instrumentals! you should listen to his Color Therapy project really good.
Mobile Orchestra better than The Midsummers Station? Did I really just hear that...???

The only album I do not really enjoy was Omaha Beach. I always have this weird uneasy feeling listening to it, maybe that was his intention?
That was definitely intentional.

YEah it's really good!

If we don't spread the word, then people will end up missing out on some great music.
Yes, you're right! It would be such a shame if some of Adam's fans never got a chance to hear this amazing album.
I cant find any of the Color Therapy!

I agree. I don't care if he steals melody's and rewrites them. He will always be captivating.

so I my gosh that was why helium balloon sounded so familiar.. it was an extended version of snowfall

Wheels down is my favorite.
What’s the music in the background buddy ?
YEA, MY EYES HAVE SEEN THE GLORY OF THE COMING OF THE LORD!!
My favourites are Corduroy Road, Voyager 1 and The Endurance.
I love Adam Young! Did you get the Art Prints? I have them all framed around my room aha 👍🏻
Has anyone else noticed the cough in the background of "Sherman" on Cordorouy Road?
Sorry, The Skybridge is not actually an official name, since, that Port Blue album was not officially released and it's believed that was from another totallydifferent Album Adam decided not to share with us.
I dont know if you already listen to this person/project but you should listen to Vancouver Sleep Clinic
Opinion on the new OC single All My Friends lol?
astronautamanda garbage.
Tom L J White agreed. Are you gonna make a review vid on it?
astronautamanda Probably not, I always find review vids on single songs a bit unnecessary ... I'll probably wait till the album is out and review it all then :)
Tom L J White sounds good!! Looking forward to it!
Tom L J White to the video lol, not so much the album so far.
I don't like Adam Young, I think Owl City is way better.
Hugo Herman-Wilson lol.
