Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (The Wall version, Full Cover)

- All vocals performed by me. Real instruments played by me: my homemade lapsteel, Fender Aerodyne J-bass, Harmony acoustic guitar (tuned in high strung tuning like on the original) for rhythm, and my Strat partscaster for the first and second solo and the power chords at the end.
The audio of the orchestra for the verses was lifted from the 5.1 mix of The Wall film. The orchestral/string section for the choruses were not isolated in the 5.1 mix unfortunately, so I had to recreate those. I used Virtual Playing Orchestra soundfont, Spitfire Labs BBC string ensemble VST, and Contemporary Violin kontakt library (all free btw) layered together to sound realistic as possible.
I used the NubiPlus VST Hammond B3 organ emulator for the outro. I also used the TAL-U-NO 62 synth VST to recreate the synth bass lines that augment the bass guitar parts, like on the original.
I'm not a drummer, so drum samples came from EZDrummer 2 and mapped out on midi by me.

Fantastico, nulla da aggiungere.
Outstanding work man 👍👌
Thanks for watching!
I didn't think you could have been actually playing that.
Now I realise you were.
Man, almost literally no one can do justice to this. My god man, you did it
Thanks! It was quite a big project, and my aim was doing as much justice to it as possible. I’m glad you think so
Great voice and excellent playing. Fabulous
Thanks for listening!
oh my gosh that felt like i was listening to the actual thing line for line. Phenomenal
Thank you, I wanted to be as faithful to the original as possible
incredible work
Thank you!
Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
I love that you put a Motion Blur effect on the solo part, just like in the movie!
Thank you for noticing that! The scene in the movie where they are dragging Pink out of the hotel absolutely influenced me when I edited this video together
@@lionofnaplesI can tell! It was a striking scene, thought about it for days when I first saw it.
Wonderful
Fantastic! Enjoyed it very much as a huge Pink Floyd fan.
I especially like the personal note in your playing.
Thank you for listening!
Wow, so beautiful. Amazing. 10/10
Incredible!! Sounds just like the original. Very well done.
Thank you for checking it out. Jam on 🤘
That's great! Seems you love the song as much as I do!
Yes maybe too much! Thank you
The Real Pink Floyd Fan
haha thank you !
Amazing! What gear did you use for the guitar and how did you set it? Sounded really good!
Thank you! All I used was my guitar, a recording interface and my computer :). It was all software, specifically Guitar Rig 6. I don't quite remember the settings I had but basically, for the first solo it was Tube Compressor > Big Muff > HiWatt > A little bit of flanger > delay > reverb. If you are interested in the exact settings, let me know.
For the second solo, it was a little more complicated in the mix. First, it was Tube Compressor > Big Muff > HiWatt + Rotating Speaker Cabinet > Delay in Guitar Rig. Then after that, I copied the track and added another separate simple digital delay plugin at around 30 ms with one repeat, and then after that I added a tape emulator plugin. Then I panned both the original track and the copied track left and right. And then finally plate reverb.
@@lionofnapleshello!! I'm very interested in exact way to recreate this tone from second solo. Could I get your contacts to speak about it? Please
@@kakashiprofik.s.5516 email me at lionofnaples91@gmail.com
@@lionofnaples one of the best tones I've heard of this solo, I think the 2 tracks panned are the secret to the record.
@@MasterChiefTheChef thank you. If you listen to the isolated tracks from the movie version, the doubling effect is really apparent. Almost sounds like slapback delay
That's awesome, I'm sure you listened carefully to the isolated guitar track, because it's very close to the original)
Btw can you please write all the guitar parts of your Strat?
Thanks for listening!
This is the parts list for my Strat:
Specs:
* Fender Deluxe Stratocaster body in Candy Apple Red
* Neck pickup: Seymour Duncan STK-S4 (stacked humbucker voiced to sound like an SSL-1)
* Middle pickup: Dimarzio Area 67 (stacked humbucker voiced to sound like a 60s Strat pickup)
* Bridge pickup: Seymour Duncan STK-S6 (stacked humbucker voiced to sound like an SSL-5)
* Master volume knob
* Master tone knob with push pull pot that shunts the dummy coils of the pickups to ground for true single coil mode
* EMG SPC midboost circuit under the third knob
* Switch to turn the neck pickup on when I'm in positions 1 or 2
* Warmoth maple neck in honey tint, 22 stainless steel frets, black pearloid inlay dots, SRV neck profile
* Gotoh staggered vintage style locking tuners
* Gotoh 510T-SF1 two-point tremolo bridge with custom shortened whammy bar
@@lionofnaples thank you!
@@lionofnaples . That short arm bar, where did you get it?
@@ClayGravil there was nobody that made custom short arms for my Gotoh bridge, so I just shortened the one that came with it myself, then glued a white tip on it
is this the original song?
The only parts of the original song I used was the orchestra for the verses. I recreated everything else on an instrument or a virtual instrument
