How free is someone dying of emphysema? Free to choose. We'll all die of something one day. Longevity doesn't mean freedom if you spend a long life being told what to do by an all powerful nanny state.
The same arguments or worse can be made for alcohol. Prohibition managed to organize crime. Organized Crime. Yes, I caught the clever wording about "prohibition" at the beginning of this video. The point is, for the same reasons people take risks with alcohol, they will take similar risks with tobacco. It is said a high percentage of U.S. prison population committed their crimes under the influence of alcohol. I guess that cannot be said for cigarettes...
thanks for the great lecture but yeah, the fact that cigarettes, which are such a dangerous drug, can be sold in any convenience store and that the tobacco industry can have lobbies is absolutely insane and disgusting people shouldn't be able to sell these death traps like there is nothing more we can do to stop this absolutely avoidable death
"My estimate was that the 600 megatons of testing that had been done up to 1963 would in the course of time cause fifteen million children to be born with gross physical defects who would otherwise have been normal, and would cause about 15 million cases of cancer that would not have occurred otherwise. So if you test one twenty-megaton bomb, that would be at the sacrifice of one-thirtieth of those numbers. That would be 500,000 unborn children, 500,000 cases of cancer per twenty-megaton bomb tested." Linus Pauling. NOVA Interview. June 1977. "This alleged damage which the small radioactivity is causing -- supposedly cancer and leukemia -- has not been proved, to the best of my knowledge, by decent and clear statistics. It is possible that there is damage. It is even possible, to my mind, that there is no damage; and there is the possibility, further, that very small amounts of radioactivity are helpful." Edward Teller. "Fallout and Disarmament: A Debate Between Linus Pauling and Edward Teller," KQED television, San Francisco, California. February 20, 1958. On variables...
If you want to end Tobacco use as we know there needs to be a greater advocacy of vaping. I am awe struck that vaping is not heralded as a medical marvel in regards to smoking cessation. And no --- i do not own a vaping store. I smoked a pack a day for 22 years and I quit with relative ease via vaping.
As long as you keep in mind that its still difficult to get off nicotine when you are using a substitute nicotine in your vape. thats why tobacco companies have invested in vape companies too eg. vaping411.com/big-tobacco/ www.vapingpost.com/tag/vaping-brands-owned-by-big-tobacco/
Am I the only one who can’t hear the video? Other videos work but this one is dead silent
Thank you Dr. Robert Proctor for a fantastic video. It's actually thrilling to watch and listen to.
Smoking is bad, yes, but you can't beat the sweet smoky cancer flavor of a fresh Marb Southern Cut
And how it stays all over your clothes as well as your house.
What else would you like to ban?
Banning the sale of cigarettes would just be a sensible public health measure. He's not saying it should be illegal to grow it yourself
Everybody know guns are bad.
