    49 years young & still listen to these . . . on the vinyl & cassette tapes I bought them on over 30 years ago! The older you get the harder Sweet Dreams hits, Lennox & Stewart were frikin genius level songwriters, just wish I'd listened to them lol

    • @livedandletdie
      @livedandletdie 3 года назад +2

      Nah, these songs hit hard no matter the age, young as old, Well Europe's Final Countdown is a bit overrated, maybe cuz I'm Swedish, and that it's a bit overplayed here compared to other synth classics. But yes, Sweet Dreams is good, however, there's a lot of good covers of it that I like more than the Original.

      If you are going to listen to a song for 30-40 years, why on earth would you listen to the cassette version? There's that nasty tape hiss... unless you're using Dolby B noise suppression which nearly always attenuates the high end, unless it's on CRO2 or Metal tape, which most production cassettes weren't released on. To each their own, I guess.

      There are only so many songs that can fit in a 2:24 video.

    This was a lot of fun .
    Now I am left curious as to
    1) what are the names of the key main synth instruments used in each song
    2) does ur keyboard have those instruments
    Or did u use a DAW/ vst /

    • @berringervids
      @berringervids 3 года назад +4

      Probably a VST-Synth yea. Arturia has a bunch of nice VST's, based on the best from Roland, Yamaha and Oberheim among others (80s).
      kvraudio dot com is a nice place to start.

    Cry for You by September was *absolutely* based on Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat... we just didn't have the lawyers and algorithms we do back then.
