My first concert, Tiamat with Sentenced as opener in a very very small club, 1995. When Sentenced started to play I thought I would not survive the concert. The club was crowded with people, no space left. People moving aggressively and pushing other people. One stagediver per minute falling on someones head. People had their feet clinging to the lamp brackets on the ceiling and dropped down into the crowd. Didn't know Sentenced, right after the concert I bought the Amok record which is my favorite record until this day. Loved Tenkulas guitar play, loved Jarvas vocals. When Jarva left, I still liked them. But before that I loved them.
How cool is this!?!?! I found Sentenced by perusing a bunch of CDs at a used record shop back in the day... I picked up "North from Here" and it blew me away. Thanks for posting this!!!
I never thought I live to see a Sentenced concert when they had their old mid 90s lineup with the future vocalist for the band The Black League... I had no idea they were such a great live band... All their songs are so on point with their album songs... I don't even think this band even realizes how much influence they had years later with their older albums. They also really influenced the start of Melodic Death Metal back in the days.
Sami Lopakka wrote a book "marras" which discuss this tour. He's father die and wife has pregnant in last month, time when all need him mostly in finland but he is in tour middle of europe. Alcohol every day and much, nightmares, sweat and agony every night. Jarva has problems too in finland when touring, separation.

I'm convinced Miika Tenkula deserves a better place among the Guitar Virtuosos from Finland and the entire World... Even before than Alexi Laiho.
Easily
Love both but Miika has more feeling in his playing for sure

Amok is such a Masterpiece! For me one of the best albums of all time!
What a treasure!
I named one of my cats after Miika Tenkula. He'll be 13 years old this year. I miss Sentenced so much.
